Semi-realistic Portrait / セミリアルの人物画
This is probably my first time drawing a portrait of a real person. I have used the reference of the real models for pose references before but I usually don’t try to draw those models.
Well, actually I picked the reference photo just for pose and expression as usual but I ended up drawing her.
Although, I drew in my style so the finished artwork is semi-realistic.
The reference is my oldest daughter. Sorry but I will not attach the reference photo.
I have change the hair style. She has longer hair but I thought she would look cute in short hair as well.
You should have seen my husband face when our daughter came home with very short hair from having very long hair. He could not look at her and would not talk to her for a week.
I received the comment “Why is her hair so short?” When I showed him this drawing. Haha he loves long hair.
Anyways, photos below are the process.
アニメキャラクターはよく描きますが、人物画を描くのは初めてかもしれません。よくモデルさんの写真を参考にしますが、今まではポーズを参考にするだけで、そのモデルさん本人を描くことはなかったです。
今回もポーズと表情だけを参考にするはずっだったのですが、気づいたらモデルさんを描いていました。
あ、でもセミリアルで描いてます。写真そのままは描けませんね〜モデルは我が家の長女ちゃんなので参考にした写真は載せませんがお許しを〜
髪は本人より短くしました。
そういえば、この絵を見せた時も言われましたが、我が家の旦那様は長い髪がお好みなんですよね〜
「なんで短いの？」って可愛いと思ったからですよ。
娘が長かった髪をショートヘアにして帰ってきた時の旦那様の顔ったら、笑えましたよ。娘の顔を1週間もちゃんと見れず会話も出来ないでいました。
さてさて、以下、過程になります。
I don’t have many process photos here. I forgot to take screen shots. I draw on single layer nowadays. I can’t go though each layer (each process) after it’s done.
過程の写真少なめです。スクショ撮り忘れました。最近は一枚のレイヤーで描いてしまうので、後でどんな風に描いていたか見られません。

Added small details…
細かいところに色をのせて。。。
Done!
背景を入れて出来上がり！

This turned out beautifully. Why draw on one layer? What if you made a mistake and decided to erase or undo it? You will have to undo so many steps before getting to where the problem is lol.
I understand how much of a work that can be because it has happened to me before and I also do end up drawing a whole model or reference photo even after wanting just the pose and style initially lol.
Your daughter looks cute with the short hair though I haven't even seen the real photo with her long hair lol.

I used to use many many layers…too many that sometimes I get confused🤣 I still use many layers when I draw in different style or when I’m applying colours but since I started drawing in grayscale I only use single layer to draw. If I'm not sure what I'm doing and want to draw on different layer, I duplicate the layer, draw and marge when I feel good about the change I made.
Lol. I am always confused too😂😂 and taking the time to rename each layer is such a work on it own😂 so I can totally understand sketching on one layer to avoid all this lol

レイヤーって結構奥が深いんですよね。私も細かい使い方は知らないので、レイヤー１つでどんどん重ねていくこの描き方はホント助かります。
