Explore Kon Tu Ma village in the ripe rice season

Kon Tu Ma is a village of ethnic minorities Xo Dang. This small village is nestled between mountains and forests of Mang Canh commune, Kon Plong district. It is the geographical location that creates the beauty and features of Kon Tu Ma village.

I came here in the rainy season, so I had the opportunity to witness the beautiful moments of this village. According to the custom of the Xo Dang, rice must be stored in private houses. And the rice houses are small stilt houses, built in an area separate from the village. Usually they are built near rice fields and located at the edge of the forest to avoid losses due to fire and insects. Are you worried about rice theft? Don't worry, Xo Dang people are very honest, they never take other people's things. And they live in a very united community.

Because of the rugged terrain, the villagers of Kon Tu Ma often cultivate small fields. And these fields are located at different elevations, forming terraces to avoid erosion in high water seasons. Rice fields can be nestled between valleys, or beside rivers or among forests. Obviously they put a lot of effort and time into creating and cultivating these rice fields. It is the hard work of the villagers that has created these masterpieces in the midst of nature. They only grow one rice crop a year because they think they have enough rice for the whole year.

The Xo Dang cultivate by hand. Because of the rough terrain, they couldn't use machines. The villagers reaped the rice with sickles, then they threshed the rice with a homemade mill. After being bagged, the rice will be carried by men up steep slopes to the rice houses.

Motorcycles are the main means of transportation and transportation in the village. The motorcycles here are specially modified to make them stronger. Because the terrain here is mainly steep, and villagers also often use motorbikes to carry very heavy items and go into the forest. So it can be said that driving a motorbike is a culture here, even 10-year-olds have mastered motorbikes.

You had a great shot, capturing the lives in the village. The rice field looks the same as we have here in the Philippines. It's just so nice knowing that there are farmers who work hard in order to produce products such as rice. Without them, we don't have rice on our table. My salute to you!

Clouds are looking very beautiful the way we see what a beautiful place to live and sharing such beautiful pictures with us is great to see us too. Farmers who work hard to cultivate the crop and then go to the market to sell it is a very hard work.

We do have a lot of common here in the Philippines. The rice fields and its nature made me told myself that the place looks like here in PH. Anyways, I do love your shots. If I may ask, what camera did you use?
