Local farmers are preparing for a new rice crop

Hello walking lovers in the Wednesday Walk community, did you walk today? Early this morning I decided to walk around the village near where I live. And I came across quite a few interesting things I would like to share with you in this post.

I have to tell you that it's hard to wake up early at my place right now because the weather is quite cold. But I didn't want to miss the scene where the farmer was preparing for a new rice crop, so that was my motivation to wake up early. You know, the farmers in my place only do one rice crop a year. So if I miss it, I have to wait until next year.

And although it was quite early in the morning, many farmers were still working in the rice fields. Some of them were draining water from their fields, others were leveling the surface of the fields, others were planting rice and others were sowing seeds. All of them created a bustling working atmosphere in the rice fields in the early morning with conversations and laughs.

I was just walking around the rice fields and took pictures of them working. Some of them looked at me with curious eyes like "What is that guy doing here so early in the morning?". And as soon as they knew I was there to take pictures, they were very friendly and excited. It was so happy to see the joy of others. You see, joy can come from the little things.

I really miss planting rice crops, I remember way back 2006 to 2010, the method of planting rice crops is like on the photo above but now on my province in Iloilo they usually do saboy which they are just throwing rice grains on the field, it's less expensive and also doesn't require manpower or labor.

This is so peaceful and serene to look at. It must be very refreshing to have an early morning walk there.

In my province, we plant corn crops twice a year. we do it in the rainy season.
