Last of Inktober Getting ready for NFT November and No Power and Internet

day23inktoberINSTA2.jpg

Here we have my last #inktober submission as we have had rather an interesting week here in coastal New England. Last week we had almost no mention of the storm that hit us. It was a Nor'easter, which are as common this time of the year as our the beautiful autumnal displays our tree lined coasts give us.

The odd bit is normally the weather loves to go off with drama and talk of big storms for days and then we get very little. This storm we barely heard of except the day before an we awoke to no power or internet.

Luckily, living on the seaside, we are used to power loss, so we turned on the generator. We were to have that on for over a week and to be without internet until only two days ago...THUS, this is the last #inktober I bothered to pen.

However, October has passed and I had made a promise to myself to do NFT November. Now I have NO idea if that is even a think ,but I think it should be and it shall for me. So, this month I am going to even attempt some animation and sound in my NFT. My goal is to have at least 4 new ones up this month. I'll most likely post to Makers Place but I know there are other platforms and would LOVE to have anyone tell me those. Isn't there even one associated with Alien Art Hive?

Now, I'll share my last vlog with you in pictures here, as I've also got behind in those. However, I was not able to post about my last one here, until now, so here we go.

This vlog and this day was all about planting. I'd done a fun trip to one of my favourite little garden centres here on Cape and my plants were itching to be planted. It was a lovely warm sunny October day and the bees were still out in droves enjoying the last of my Summer Lavender. This will soon all be hacked down to the grown and hung up to dry. If I don't hack it back I won't get a lovely hedge next year and once it goes woody, you're done for in keeping lavender going.

I decided it was best to make a little display here by my lavender hedge, as it's my main view with the sea behind. I enjoy this particular view the most and as we only get our Autumn display for a few months, this seemed the ideal spot.

I LOVE blue and white mixed with terra cotta and galvanized pots, so here you go. To be fair I already had the one blue and white pot with the marigolds here, and they were still looking so lovely I just left then, save adding a little pumpkin for fun. I used a mix of faux gourds and real ones grown from my own garden.

Of course being obsessed with animals in all ways, in my life and art, and my obsession with miniatures, this area was just crying out for a little tableaux of Mr. Fox and Miss Bunny to have an afternoon tea alfresco with blue and white china of their own. On the menu was acorn muffins. I love to use my little miniature collections as often as I can so they don't just sit and gather dust.

The morning before the storm I had the were with all to film and photo an event which I get to enjoy fairly often. I am a morning person and I often rise before sunrise and when my timing is right, prior to heading off to do my morning chores of feeding chickens and quail before going back into the studio I get to see magnificent sun rise such as this (tho the clouds were to tell us of the coming storm)

I also get to see the setting orange moon at the same time. Simply by swiveling my view from right to left along the harbour I can see the sun bursting forth as the great moon settles in , in this case it was SUCH a lovely orange moon. It was the last day of power and electricity for a week ,tho I did not know that at the time. But, it was a way to recharge, being unplugged from the internet for a week, so it worked out in a way.

Now I am recharged and ready for NFT November (I'm going to make it a thing if it's not) and settling in for the coming Winter. This has been an odd year, surely not a 'great one ' in many ways. I miss travel and I find myself even MORE so a homebody (tho to be fair an introvert like me needs not much pressure to stay at home) Yet, as we pass closer to the end of 2021 I can only hope the coming year will improve and even if it shan't then I can at least improve myself; well at least attempt to do so.

I'll close with the video of this day and hope all of you will find some time to stay creative.
