Ladies of Hive Community Contest #93[ESP-ENG]

Presentación1.jpg

Good morning dear community of women, the truth is that this contest #93, is going to show us, surely, what the brave women of this wonderful community are made of, that in spite of the adversities they set themselves a goal supposedly only for men, hahaha.

When I decided to study engineering, it was supposedly a career for men and they told me why I didn't study to be a teacher, that if it was a profession that corresponded better to a woman, and so on.

Nevertheless, that was the career I wanted and which I studied; when I graduated and tried to work in the oil industry, being a chemical engineer, it was not possible, because they did not admit women in any way, so there came back the reasons why I studied that profession, from some relatives.

Certainly this taboo to certain professions for women was reflected in the faculties of engineering where it was always mostly men who studied it, because the veto was presented from the family that possibly were influenced by what was said about it.

Even some companies were wary of employing women in professions that society assigned only to men, at least by the time I graduated, it happened that way.

I believe that these changes occurred gradually as the few women in those professions performed very well in their roles as professionals.

That is to say, this was something that we women ourselves have earned through responsibility and commitment to our work. It has not been so easy, because there are still detractors to certain positions being held by women, but little by little there are fewer of them.

I want to take this opportunity to invite my friend @zoraida01 to subscribe to this community and participate in the weekly contests.

Saludos

It is good that this taboo about women in Engineering fields is going away. I look forward to a time where there will no longer be stereotyping against gender when it comes to profession and everything else. I wish you good luck on the contest :)

Muchas bendiciones
