Vivo el presente/Construyo el futuro / Agradezco al pasado [ESP-ENG]

Será insólito, pero no hemos dejado de respirar y ya el presente se transformó en pasado. Y esa simbiosis serán las bases para construir un futuro en positivo. Por lo tanto, decidí vivir a plenitud el presente y no permitir que lo que desconozco robe mi paz. Desde hace tiempo ese ha sido mi estilo de vida. Desde la época de Matusalén el futuro es un misterio, incierto, pero no será menos cierto que en base a él construimos nuestra vida.
Desde que somos pequeños escuchamos de nuestros padres, tíos, padrinos, maestras, entre otros: "Estudien, prepárense para que tengan un futuro prometedor, para que logren cumplir sus sueños", y entonces, algunos estudiamos, nos preparamos; unos se pasarán la vida haciendo postgrados, maestrías, entre otros, pero todos a su manera demostrarán sus talentos y los pondrán en ejecución; algunos se olvidarán de vivir el presente, y otros más lo vivirán a plenitud.
Sin duda alguno todo lo referente al tiempo será relativo, pero será una gran verdad que el pasado, el presente y el futuro están intrínsecamente relacionados, uno no existirá sin el otro, serán indivisibles.
El pasado ayudará a forjar nuestro presente para vivirlo a plenitud, debido a que ese pasado en algún momento se puso la camisa de "presente" y será una realidad muy cruda que, debido a patrones familiares y remarcados, algunas veces nos dijeron que debíamos prepararnos para el futuro, porque el presente estaba ahí, y algunas veces dejaremos de vivirlo por pensar en el futuro o por lo que pasó y no pudimos hacer nada.
Ahora bien, si no sanamos la parte del pasado que corresponderá, esto tal vez afectará vivir plenamente el presente y, por lógica, afectará el futuro y, aunque este fuera misterioso o incierto, estará marcado por lo que hagamos en el presente; nos ayudará a construirlo. Por esa razón decidí desde hace mucho tiempo vivir el presente con aciertos y desaciertos que me garantizara recordar un pasado que agradeceré y que escribiré en el libro de mi vida y el legado para futuras generaciones para construir un futuro con calidad de vida.
It may seem strange, but we haven’t stopped breathing, and already the present has become the past. And that symbiosis will be the foundation for building a positive future. Therefore, I’ve decided to live the present to the fullest and not let the unknown rob me of my peace. That has been my way of life for a long time. Since the days of Methuselah, the future has been a mystery—uncertain, yet no less true—and it is upon this that we build our lives.
From a young age, we hear from our parents, uncles, godparents, teachers, and others: “Study, prepare yourselves so that you may have a promising future, so that you may fulfill your dreams,” and so, some of us study, we prepare; some will spend their lives pursuing graduate degrees, master’s degrees, and the like, but everyone, in their own way, will demonstrate their talents and put them into practice; some will forget to live in the present, and others will live it to the fullest.
Without a doubt, everything related to time is relative, but it is a great truth that the past, present, and future are intrinsically linked; one cannot exist without the other; they are indivisible.
The past will help shape our present so that we can live it to the fullest, because that past once took on the guise of the “present” and will be a harsh reality: due to familiar and ingrained patterns, we were sometimes told that we should prepare for the future, because the present was already here, and sometimes we’ll stop living it because we’re thinking about the future or about what happened and couldn’t be helped.
Now, if we do not heal the part of the past that corresponds to us, this may affect our ability to fully live the present and, logically, will affect the future; and even if the future is mysterious or uncertain, it will be shaped by what we do in the present—it will help us build it. For that reason, I decided long ago to live in the present—with all its successes and failures—so that I might remember a past for which I am grateful, one I will write in the book of my life and leave as a legacy for future generations to build a future with a high quality of life.

En una oportunidad conversaba con unas amigas y cada quien emitió su opinión acerca de lo incierto, misterioso que era el futuro, pero que intrínsecamente iba amarrado al pasado y al presente, y mi ahijada sobrina Alejandra tenía ocho años y siempre andaba con nosotras. Y sin percatarnos, escuchaba muy atenta el tema, de que debemos vivir el presente como si fuera el último día y que no nos ocupáramos tanto del futuro porque es un misterio total.
Entonces, entre una cosa y la otra, se hizo la hora de la cena. Alejandra preparó unos sándwiches; quedaron deliciosos, repletos de jamón y queso amarillo, mayonesa y salsa de tomate, ¡una delicia total! Lo acompañamos con Coca-Cola y cuando mi comadre al rato fue a la nevera, Alejandra había usado medio kilo de jamón y queso amarillo en seis sándwiches.
La comadre le preguntó: Ale, ¿por qué no dejaste nada para el desayuno de mañana?", a lo que esta de lo más tranquila respondió: "Mamá, ustedes dijeron que el futuro es un misterio, que debemos vivir el presente, ¿y si me muero hoy?". Ella lo entendió literalmente. Y ese evento nos llevó a explicarle que, sin duda alguna, algunas cosas o situaciones no se podrán tomar de forma literal.
Que vivir el presente representará el disfrutar de ese instante, ese momento único, irremplazable, que jamás será igual al otro, incluso encontrándose las mismas personas, las mismas cosas, porque el estado emocional jamás será el mismo; cada presente tendrá su ADN.
El presente será donde disfrutaremos lo que nos gustó, y cada quien lo hará de acuerdo a su perspectiva de vida. Para mí, disfrutar del ronroneo del gato, esa estrella fugaz, el olor al café recién colado de @mafalda2018 aunque fuera virtual, será genial; disfrutar la comida de la abuela, o de la mamá o de quien querremos, ese instante compartido con los seres que amamos, el olor a tierra mojada, admirar ese bello paisaje, el momento tan esperado de ver cómo el capullo se convirtió en la más hermosa flor, entre otros.
Y aunque parecería insólito, hasta escribiendo en el presente, volteamos la mirada y ya se convirtió en pasado, porque hasta que no me tocara morir, disfrutaré y viviré cada presente, cada día de mi vida con todos los “macundales” con los cuales llegaré. Con actitud positiva, agradecí mi hermoso pasado con sus aciertos y desaciertos; y todo eso formará parte del futuro que construiré para vivir en bienestar.
Once, I was talking with some friends, and each of us shared our thoughts on how uncertain and mysterious the future was, yet how it was intrinsically tied to the past and the present. My goddaughter, Alejandra, was eight years old and was always with us. And without us realizing it, she was listening very intently to the conversation—about how we should live in the present as if it were our last day and not worry so much about the future because it is a total mystery.
Then, before we knew it, it was dinnertime. Alejandra made some sandwiches; they were delicious, loaded with ham and yellow cheese, mayonnaise, and tomato sauce—an absolute treat! We washed them down with Coca-Cola, and when my friend went to the fridge a little while later, she saw that Alejandra had used half a kilo of ham and yellow cheese for just six sandwiches.
My friend asked her, “Ale, why didn’t you leave anything for breakfast tomorrow?” to which she calmly replied, “Mom, you guys said that the future is a mystery, that we should live in the present—what if I die today?” She took it literally. And that incident led us to explain to her that, without a doubt, some things or situations cannot be taken literally.
That living in the present means savoring that instant, that unique, irreplaceable moment that will never be exactly the same as another—even when the same people and things are present—because our emotional state will never be the same; every present moment will have its own DNA.
The present is where we’ll enjoy what we love, and each of us will do so according to our own perspective on life. For me, enjoying the cat’s purring, that shooting star, the smell of @mafalda2018’s freshly brewed coffee—even if it’s virtual—will be wonderful; enjoying Grandma’s cooking, or Mom’s, or whoever we love, that moment shared with the people we love, the smell of wet earth, admiring that beautiful landscape, the long-awaited moment of seeing how the bud turned into the most beautiful flower, among other things.
And although it might seem unusual, even as I write in the present, we look back and it has already become the past, because until it is my turn to die, I will enjoy and live every present moment, every day of my life with all the “macundales” I will encounter. With a positive attitude, I am grateful for my beautiful past, with its successes and failures; and all of that will be part of the future I will build to live in well-being.

Gente bella de #Empowertalent, no podemos vivir el presente obviando el misterioso futuro, porque cuando nos demos cuenta, ese presente donde estamos parados alguna vez fue futuro. Y nunca podremos parar el que proyectemos nuestro propósito de vida. Porque vivir el presente y agradecer el pasado marcarán las pautas para construir nuestro futuro que aunque no sabremos que pasará, particularmente trabajaré para que se de en positivo.
Disfruto el presente tanto con lo que a bien me tuviera deparado el destino y con mi pasado, que para ese momento era futuro. Si eso no fue así, entonces no estaría disfrutando lo que construí con lo que ahorré y trabajé para tener mi casa, ayudar a mis padres y familiares y, ¿saben qué será también hermoso? Cuando ayudamos y apoyamos a construir futuro, aunque fuera un misterio incierto.
Apostaré a un futuro espectacular y, si he de ayudar a los demás, lo haré. En el entendido de que todo será relativo, debido a que lo que viví no será igual para los demás, pero al final algunas vivencias sí se parecerán.
Los invito a disfrutar el presente a plenitud sin perder de vista el futuro, porque es que los tres, tanto el presente, pasado y el futuro, serán importantes en nuestra construcción de vida. Porque al final, con futuro incierto o no, todos trabajamos por él y para él. Lo importante será no perder de vista el presente y dejar de subestimarlo; vivámoslo, a nuestra manera, pero ¡hagámoslo!
Aun con los miedos que podrán asomarse de vez en cuando para recordarme que soy humana, basaré mi futuro en que Dios tendrá el control de nuestras vidas y la vivencia del presente y, agradeciendo el pasado, lograré construir un futuro en bienestar.

Dear friends at #Empowertalent, we can’t live in the present while ignoring the mysterious future, because before we know it, the present we’re standing in was once the future. And we can never stop projecting our life’s purpose. Because living in the present and being grateful for the past will set the tone for building our future—and even though we won’t know what will happen, I will work specifically to ensure it turns out positively.
I enjoy the present both with whatever fate has in store for me and with my past, which at that moment was the future. If that weren’t the case, then I wouldn’t be enjoying what I built with what I saved and worked for—to have my home, to help my parents and relatives—and you know what else will be beautiful? When we help and support the building of the future, even if it was an uncertain mystery.
I’ll bet on a spectacular future, and if I have to help others, I will. With the understanding that everything is relative, because what I experienced won’t be the same for others, but in the end, some experiences will be similar.
I invite you to enjoy the present to the fullest without losing sight of the future, because all three—the present, the past, and the future—are important in shaping our lives. Because in the end, whether the future is uncertain or not, we all work toward it and for it. The important thing is not to lose sight of the present and to stop underestimating it; let’s live it, in our own way, but let’s do it!
Even with the fears that may pop up from time to time to remind me that I am human, I will base my future on the fact that God is in control of our lives and on living in the present; and by being grateful for the past, I will be able to build a future of well-being.

Si lo vemos como lo expresas aquí, tiene un gran punto a favor. El tiempo pasa tan rápido y en ocasiones no lo consideramos. Por ello vivir 3l hoy es una buena forma de construir recuerdos y experiencias que de alguna manera se unirán a nuestro futuro.
