You are 14 years old and attend John Radley Middle School in Winchester Park, Pennsylvania. You are a new student and today is your first day in the new school.

Your mom brought you to this ivy covered brick building without giving you any breakfast. You already met the vice principal, Mrs. Patton, and now you are walking down the hall to your homeroom class.

Mrs. Patton knocks on the door and Ms. Sheridan says something in what sounds like a foreign language. You are then directed to sit behind a rather large student she refers to as Jubal.

"You may sit behind Jubal for now until a proper seat is arranged."

You take the seat behind Jubal and spend the entire hour of history without a glimpse at the green board. Jubal's head is in the way and you catch a few words about "Civil War" and some "Opequon Creek". This gets your imagination working and you wonder what it would be like living in 1864.

You could hear the horses and feel the dust from the galloping Calvary. In your imagination you are in the battlefield. You hear a trumpet call. The commander's face looks so much like your teacher Ms. Sheridan. She is standing right above you.

You open your eyes. It is Ms. Sheridan. She asks you,

"Have you heard any of what I have been telling you?"

You are not sure if you should tell her the truth that it is really Jubal’s big head blocking you from seeing the board or if you should make up some excuse.

In your hesitation Ms. Sheridan asks you,

“Let me rephrase my question. Why was the Shenandoah Valley so important to the union in 1864?”

So many names crossed through your mind…
Was it Kershaw or Robert E. Lee? Certainly, you could say something intelligent.

You just froze. Why was everything blank? You have no idea.

Ms. Sheridan then adds,

“You will see me after class.”

Jubal turns his head and grins. This day is not turning out to be the greatest day on earth. On top of that your stomach churns releasing a Gremlin like noise a little louder than you had expected.

Ms. Sheridan looks disturbed,

“Do you have something to say to us all?”

Just then the bell rings. Everyone is gone out the door but you.

You still have to meet Ms. Sheridan “after class”. She gives you the talk about paying attention and the “first day of school”. She also says you are going to be late for Algebra so she will continue the conversation after school with you in detention at 3:10 PM.

It is 3:00 PM. You have just finished P.E. class. You wonder if you should just go home or if you should visit Ms. Sheridan’s classroom for detention. After all she is your homeroom teacher and probably will not forget that she has something more to tell you.

"It's 4 pm already"

You said as you looked at your wrist watch. You have been sitting in the class room waiting for Ms Sheridan. You spent those hours reading random books and documents on the teachers desk.

"Who are you?" Ms Sheridan asked as she walked into the classroom.

"I'm the new student from history class. You asked me to come for detention after school."

"I know all that, who are you truly?"

"I'm just a student, ma'am"

"Any normal student would have gone home the moment I failed to show up for Five minutes."

"Ma'am I'm new here, I have no idea how things work around here."

"Are you the one sent to kill me and take the crown?"

"You got me confused with the wrong person ma'am"

"Why were you going through my stuff then?"

"I did that out of boredom and nothing else."

Ms Sheridan walked pass you and got seated behind her desk.

"So you are telling me that you are not one of the Lagosian Prince?"

She said searching through her desk drawer.

"I have no idea what Lagosians mean." You replied in defense.

"Then you wouldn't have a problem looking through this mirror."

Ms Sheridan said as she pulled out a mirror from her drawer and held it up to your face. You hissed in pain, with part of your face burning and peeling.

"I thought as much"

Ms Sheridan said as she pulled out two guns from under her skirt and emptied the barrels on you. The bullets pulled you to the ground but not to your grave. You stood up and said.

"Damn do you always carry that with you."

Wait till you see what I always have with me all the time. She said as she brought out a bazooka.

"Sleep tight sucker."

She said as she released the bazooka towards you and it blew you off the building. Ms Sheridan packed the gold crown which you came for into a briefcase and headed to exit the building.

"Leaving so soon? We were just getting to know each other."

You said as you blocked her exit. This time you were no longer a 14 year old kid. Your true form was revealed, your shiny fangs were revealed with your long ears and Blood short eyes. Ms Sheridan stabbed you with with a Silver dagger.

***"You have to do more than that this time, I'm immune to this now.
My Turn!"

You said as you dashed for Ms Sheridan, lifted her off her feet. Ms Sheridan was struggling very hard to get away from your grip. Then she brought out a salt and pepper solution spray and emptied it in your eyes.

"Ouch that hurts!"

You screamed letting go of her and covered both eyes with your hands. Ms Sheridan used that opportunity to take off. You were about to go after her when a portal opened next to you. Your brothers jumped out of the portals saying.

"Brother, father wants to see you right now."

"C'mon boys, I'm in the middle of something really important."

"He says it's urgent."
