Welcome to a post-halving world
The highly anticipated fourth Bitcoin halving is now history and has brought us: At block 840,000, the miner's reward was successfully halved from 6.25 to 3.125 BTC per block. This historic block was mined at 2:09 a.m. Central European Time, is 2.33 megabytes in size and contains approximately 3063 transactions.
The result?
Daily production of new Bitcoins has now halved to 450 BTC and Bitcoin's inflation rate has fallen from 1.8% to just 0.85%. In comparison, the supply of gold, Bitcoin's physical counterpart, is growing at an estimated 1.6% annually, with a steady trend. Bitcoin has reached a new milestone and is officially rarer than gold. After the halving comes the anticipation of the next one.
The upcoming fifth halving is scheduled for 2028 at block 1,050,000, which will further reduce the block reward to 1.5625 BTC.

Bei Block 840.000 wurde die Belohnung des Miners erfolgreich von 6,25 auf 3,125 BTC pro Block halbiert. Dieser historische Block wurde um 02:09 Uhr mitteleuropäischer Zeit abgebaut, hat eine Größe von 2,33 Megabyte und enthält ungefähr 3063 Transaktionen.

**Das Ergebnis? **
Die tägliche Produktion neuer Bitcoins ist nun auf 450 BTC halbiert und die Inflationsrate von Bitcoin ist von 1,8 % auf nur 0,85 % gesunken.

Im Vergleich dazu wächst der Bestand an Gold, dem physischen Gegenstück von Bitcoin, jährlich um geschätzte 1,6 %, mit einer stetigen Tendenz.

Bitcoin hat damit einen neuen Meilenstein erreicht und ist offiziell seltener als Gold.

Nach der Halbierung kommt die Vorfreude auf die nächste.

Die bevorstehende fünfte Halbierung ist für das Jahr 2028 bei Block 1.050.000 geplant, was die Blockbelohnung weiter auf 1,5625 BTC reduzieren wird.
