Farm Walk with Coffee After Work: A Quiet Countryside Life

Green Simple Scenic Travel Photo Collage.png

After my online meeting, I felt tired, and my daughter was still asleep, so I made myself a cup of coffee even though it was already 4 PM. I decided to walk around the farm for some fresh air, and it made me feel so much better.

The sugarcane harvest is almost finished, maybe by tomorrow it will be done. Because life has been so busy lately, I didn't even notice that some of our banana trees already have fruits. I also saw other plants growing well around the area, but I only noticed them now because I rarely have time to walk around. I realize we also need to take time to walk, breathe, and appreciate what surrounds us, especially after spending hours in front of a laptop.

Most of my day now is divided between online work, motherhood, house responsibilities, and checking on the farm. Sometimes I sit too long working that I only realize it when my body feels stiff or tired. That is why I try to walk outside whenever I can, even for a short time.

Living far from neighbors has its advantages and disadvantages. The peace and quiet that nature gives is truly a blessing. No noise, no stress, no toxicity just fresh air and a wide, open view. It is easy to focus and work without distractions. But sometimes it can feel lonely too. There are moments when you wish you had a neighbor to talk with, share food with, or call for help when something unexpected happens, especially at night or during emergencies.

Still, I feel grateful. Many people dream of retiring to a peaceful place like this, and we are blessed to experience it now. Here, if you are hardworking, you can grow almost anything. We have bananas, coconuts, sugarcane, rice, calamansi, vegetables, and different fruits around us. Even small daily things like seeing new plants grow or harvesting crops slowly remind us of progress.

Thanks for reading my story. This is my owned picture and edited in Canva. Life may be simple, and sometimes tiring, but it is peaceful, and for that, I am thankful. Have a nice day!💛

Well I grow up in the farm and no neighbors, no noise , no one to chit chat . We need to walk for ten minutes to reached our neighbors home. Then I wish before to live in the city. Now that I am living in the city inside a subdivision, things changed. I missed the life in the farm. Here in the subdivision, we have so many neighbors but we do not talked and we do not know each other.

I understand you sis, Farm life can feel lonely sometimes but is also gives peace and space to think. City life is the opposite, many people around but less connection. But now I realize I need to have a neighbor to talk or call when needed.

If you have a best friend no matter how far away you both to each other. You can call anytime. For now, I am living in the city but I do not have a closed friend here. My friend was still living in our province, so when I need someone to talk to I would just call her if she is not busy. I can be your friend too just send me a message.

You are always welcome sis, I been through that situation before when I have no one to share with on what's on my mind. I know how difficult and seems you would feel tired because you are emotionally not okay and you would end up feeling drain. It's very important to have someone to listen. We need to talk to someone that way we would feel okay by releasing what make us explode.

Thank you again sis. Sometimes it gets overwhelming and I feel so drained when I keep everything inside. Thankful for this community where I can share my thoughts. It helps to have someone like you to talk to. I’m grateful for your support and for reminding me that I’m not alone in this. 😇

so you have wifi connection? cool! 😁
I don't see many electrical wires or telco cables in your area, I'm assuming you're using a data connection?

In some areas, that's the struggle if you're living in a secluded area. But I would still choose to live far away from the city. 😁
!LOL

Yes, we have a PLdt connection under private here, and I also data as a backup. Luckily the Dito signal is very strong in our area. So, INTERNET access is not much of a problem. We’re quite far from the city, bit honestly, I prefer the peaceful farm life.

Sometimes coffee no longer works as a pick me up no? 😅 It's a nice routine tho, I would love to have a walk in the afternoon, checking on crops and something, just not people. 😁

Haha! True, sometimes Coffee doesn’t give that boost anymore. I also love quiet walks in the afternoon, checking the garden and crops. Less people more peace.

That's good sis...after you're being exposed to long hours of using the laptop, there you are relaxing and looking at the beautiful view of your farm..
It's always in the simplest things we appreciate and understand life better..

Yes sis, you’re right. After long hours on the laptop, it feels good to step outside and just breathe and look at the farm view. Sometimes peace is already in the simple things around us. 😍
