Hello everyone,

Having two patients in the family at the same time is not easy, especially when they are my father and my brother. These days, I am staying here in the farm to take care of them. Aside from preparing their food, I also make sure they are comfortable, take their medicines, and have someone around whenever they need help.

Since I came from the market after delivering our cabbage and chayote, I decided to buy plenty of fish and shells. I thought, At least, we have different viands everyday. It also helps that here in the farm, we have plenty of vegetables. I can simply pick what we need and add them to our meals.

Because my father and brother are still recovering, they are not allowed to eat meat for now. So, goodbye for pork and beef! Our kitchen is now more focused on fish, soup, and vegetables.

One of our favorite meals is sinabawang bangus. I cook the bangus with vegetables and plenty of soup. My father especially enjoys the warm broth. For someone who is recovering, a hot bowl of soup feels comforting.

Another simple meal I prepare is paksiw na isda. Sometimes, I also cook our shells in an adobo-style recipe. when we are hungry and tired, even a simple meals can taste good.

I also bought different kinds of fish from the market, such as danggit, lapu-lapu, bariles, and other fresh fish. With these, I can prepare different meals so my two patients will not get bored eating the same ulam every day.

Of course, vegetables are always present on our table. Since we are in the farm, we are lucky to have fresh vegetables nearby. Sometimes, I feel like our kitchen has its own mini grocery store only without the cashier!

My father is happy that I am here. Maybe there really is something different when the youngest daughter comes home and takes care of her parents. Even though I have many things to do, I am happy that I can serve my father and my brother during their recovery.

These meals may look simple, but every fish I cook and every bowl of soup I serve comes with love.

For now, my kitchen is full of fish, It is simply the little kitchen of a daughter caring for her two patients in the farm. Hehe!

And honestly, I am happy to be their cook, caregiver, and sometimes their food delivery service all in one!

It’s good that they’re finally out of the hospital and on the process of recovering. You have such a good heart for not abandoning them and for being there for them.

By the way, I have a question. Can chayote grow and survive in a hot climate?

That's one big of a meal for them for your brother and your father. I remember about my grandmother who always cook fish or even veggies because she is old and the fish that she always buy was the reddish or pinkish one and she will cook like a soup.
