Do you dare?
You know,
I'm a dreemer. The Original Dreemer lol.
And I think that some people might think it's easy to spend time dreeming your way through life! ahahaha Nothing could be further from the truth.
There are a lot of setbacks, a lot of "failures", a lot of sadness, a lot of frustrations.
But - to dare to continue to drEEm takes determination.
I wonder if you dare to drEEm?
I would dare to say that if you're reading this blog - it's because you are ON HIVE. Which means - you are a bit of a drEEmer yourself! People in this world are slowly coming to the realization that crypto is a good thing! But you were probably here for a while, blazing the trail for those who will come after. You may have lived through the sadness of Steem, and continued. You may have come recently - but I think - if you're here, you have a little drEEm in you 😉
BACK TO OUR YOUNG MAN'S STORY!
So ... hehehe we had these beautiful cards printed up!
And the community showed up - bought fish - and it went off like clockwork!
We had a plan in place - in order to get him growing the business. Budget set, Salary projected, Future items planned to purchase. Everything was in order! Everything looked great.
But - after the sale, we saw that it was NOT according to plan.
It was better. Because of the generosity of everyone, the plan got moved up 4 months, and he was able to purchase an additional fish pond, and even some chickens. It was simply amazing.
Truly Amazing.
It felt so good. And it felt better that it wasn't just a small group of people who were invested in this dreem - but an entire community of dreemers that supported it!
I don't like surprises.
I think a lot of people say that, but secretly loved to be surprised.
I do not. like. surprises. LOL
I won't go into all the inner workings of my mind. It's not important. I just don't like them. They make me very nervous. I'm sure part of it has to do with me preferring to be in control, and not enjoying the uncertainty and unpredictable nature of the "surprise" LOL
But here is a surprise that I was truly thankful for (well, after. lol)
As you know, all of this took place last year on a now-dead-platform Uptrennd. And Uptrennd used the 1up token to reward their bloggers. At one point, it was worth a nice amount! No matter what anyone feels about Uptrennd now - during COVID - I will tell you this plainly. It put food on the table for thousands of people in countries that were desperate. For that, I will be extremely grateful.
In the midst of COVID, this is what happened.
I don't remember the full amount (but I have it all detailed in documents on my computer), but I believe that this was about $300 at the time. Again, I cannot overstate that this was during a time when $5-10 would feed a family for a week. And this group of amazing people gave generously. They knew I wouldn't accept this for myself, so they gifted it to the "dreem".

@penderis and I created these badges for them to have (and now that I see the NFT option on HIVE, I think I'm going to see about making them into NFTs for them to keep forever.) We had made some NFTs (They were pretty gorgeous too!) - but wow, at the time - ETH gas fees were outrageous. And we thought it was a better option to save that money. But now? Hive? NFT? No fees (is that right???) Looks like a plan, Stan!
So all that was donated went IN FULL to our young man! And as I stated above, he pushed forward 4 months and got that second pool. He HAD BEEN living on the absolute bare minimum in order to make this dreem thrive. But due to everyone's generosity - his salary doubled according to the budget plan! Things were still tight- but this much needed raise in his salary allowed him to breathe easier.

Wow. Gone are the days!!! Everything looked just like yesterday. I want to say here that the DrEEm of one man can induce the DrEEm of other men.
I am particularly grateful to be a part of those people that were in no small measure influenced (positively) under the tutelage of great people on the dead Uptrennd platform.
When the NFT is completed, it will boost morale, no doubts. I just hope it doesn't bring in a stigma from the somewhat ugly experience of the dead back to life. You know, a lot of us are not yet recovered from that shock.
One thing that makes me look at life simpler than before is that most of the guys that were with us back then are nowhere around. I remember being in the same family channel. The like of:

heheehe right?? seeing some of those names really brought me some smiles. Even though they have chosen to go onto other paths after the loss of Uptrennd - its ok.
Because some people are only meant to be in our lives for a season.
Some are gone for just a phase and then return!
We never know - but just experience what we have today - and express gratitude hehehe
but - no... I don't think that NFT will bring any bad thoughts with it - because you know why??? We are refusing to let the bad overshadow the good. We will take the good with us - and leave all the negativity behind.
THAT NFT symbolizes so much more than a platform to me. The platform is long gone - but what remains and what persists... THAT is the real :)

Wowww... I enjoyed every part of this post and it's a perfect reminder of the fact that we've grown so much within a year.
Alot of Dreemy things were done by a bunch of people that were passing through the sad reality of Covid19. I'm very happy to be among those that were able to give their widow's might.

A platform that is dead now left us with so much life. Some companions to accompany us in our path, some dreems accomplished, some yet to be, feeling of connectedness and much more.
Not everything in our lives is to stay forever. What matters the most is what we decide to take with us from the left overs.

That was one of the highlights of that time for sure :) It was SO FUN knowing that the graduation ceremony was going to be extra special:) !!! And that you had no clue what was about to happen, lol!.

Wow, we will never stop dreeming, and hoping that things get better for us all. You inspire and infuse strength in young dreemers to go on, never giving up even in the face of discouragement. You brought light to the young man and to the dreemers you lighten a spark in us to be there for one another.
