Splinterlands Diary 16.05.22 - Brawl Report

Hello friends, the season is rapidly approaching its end, and there are still many interesting things to come (including the new reward system), but this morning I finished another round of Guild Brawl, where I achieved very impressive results, fighting as part of the team Splinterlands.Ru

8 wins out of 8 battles, and in only one of them the opponent never showed up on the battlefield :)

In the first fight with little mana (which was a feature of this round) I decided to go the way of more inexpensive cards and used my favorite summoner MYLOR CROWLING with FLESH GOLEM, a fast gladiator BERTROL GOBSON, putting them to help SCREECHING VULTURE. For a stronger effect I spotted the enemy with my CREEPING OOZE, and accelerated my cards with BROWNIE.

The enemy chose a powerful GRUM FLAMEBLADE, but my fighters and their swift attack did their job :)

In the second fight I used almost the same combo, and my opponent came out with HILL GIANT, GOBLIN THIEF and a rather expensive mana gladiator KATRELBA GOBSON, but again, speed decided everything in my favor.

Since I couldn't play Earth in the third game and the rules were "Healed Out", I decided to take advantage of LORNA SHINE, which gives cards the Divine Shield ability, and went with Shields. I put CHAOS KNIGHT first, which is a great damage reducer, followed by the powerful gladiator MARISOL CONTUMA, and then I put the ARMORSMITH repairman and SILVERSHIELD ARCHERS to keep this pair going longer.

My opponent had an impressive collection of Death cards, and CURSED WINDEKU looked very threatening in the first position, as did the mages supporting him, but it turned out very well, and it was very nice to watch the growth of my gladiator's parameters.

Since I had even less mana (!?!) in the fourth brawl, I took the risk of going without a gladiator and chose Death with CURSED WINDEKU and SHADOW SNITCH, which is a very good second choice.

The opponent went the same way, but chose the strong archer WHISTLING DAMON. And that was his mistake - in close combat he is completely useless :)

I like playing with Water elemental, and I honestly think that the gladiator ISGALD VORST is one of the strongest cards in the game, so in the fifth game I chose a many times tested combo of SEA MONSTER, WAVE RUNNER and mages ICE PIXIE and CAPTAINS GHOST.

My opponent tricked me with EXPLODING RATS and a couple good Sneak cards (ORELLA ABADON and TENYII STRIKER), but my gladiator was great again.

In the sixth battle, since my mana was once again very low, I decided to try a combo of SEA MONSTER, ISGALD VORST, and CORAL WRAITH, which I rarely use, and it worked out pretty well.

My opponent put out a dangerous combination of DJINN CHWALA and DEEPLURKER, but pretty quickly my fighters took them out of action :)

Not at all surprised by the fact that in the last fight I had very little mana again, I took a risk and put a bunch of SARIUS and LIVING LAVA archer, but even with this pair of cards I won, because my opponent put KOBOLD BRUISER in the first position, which lasted too little time.

As a result, our guild was in second place, and received for the battles 862 Merits bought another GLADIUS CASE, which was this gladiator set :
