Another Season Coming Right Up!

I may run out of one of the ingredients needed in a recipe, but, I never run out of the love I have for them. Oh, that is the best thing about family. Here in the glow of them, I take so much pleasure in the warmth of them. Oh, come all ye faithful. Even though they all look ordinary, I can guarantee you, each one has a story of their own. I have spent much of the last few days in the company of friends and family, so I am running a little behind here.

It is finally time. The season of Joy has arrived. I no longer feel the need to tiptoe around the word glitter or use gold, only in reference to coins. All that glitters in not necessarily gold, it could just be holiday bling. Oh, Christmas, how I love thee... Christmas is a time when we pause. We stop and reflect. We look forward to another year and hope for blessings. The magic of the holiday can be found all wrapped up in my heart. If you need a little spirit, feel free to unwrap the magic.

It's not secret to anyone on Hive that I love all things Christmas. I also love decorated Christmas trees and I put several up every year, especially in places where I spend time in. When I am home, I am frequently in company with the kitchen which is attatched to a den, a popular concept for houses in the United States. As for the trees, I put one in my bedroom this year, in a little space where I have a sitting area. I have to ask, can one have too much Christmas?

The Christmas Season has always been one of my favorite times of the year. We have had some very challenging moment in the last (almost) two years. In spite of the things going on in the world; we will still stop for a moment or three, adding some cheer, some goodwill towards men. I cannot help but wonder what makes this time so different that we can make this happen, this feeling of goodwill towards others, and then, as if by some unwritten rule, we put it away in a box, just like when we are done with the ornaments. What if we kept the tree decorated? All. Year. Long.

How could I deny you
The first chance of the season
To make it all right
Once again

Today is the perfect day to begin another perfect day.

As always, there must be a flower to color my world. #alwaysaflower

It is official! You can start bringing out that Christmas bling! In keeping with the Christmas Countdown, I give you one seasonal picture and the day count! There are 28 days 00 hours 12 minutes and 13 seconds. And just like that, this post is over. Come back tomorrow and we'll do it again! Good night from Washington, DC!

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

I dedicate this post to all of you. You bring joy to my soul and spread your love across the world. For this, I thank you. And just like that, these musings are done...and just so you know, although we are throwing glitter around the globe, I can guarantee you that there is still a little left to take us through Christmas. Have a most fabulous day!

When You Are Old

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

William Butler Yeats

I have spent much of the last few days in the company of friends and family, so I am running a little behind here.

Yesterday I have also spent some time with my brother. I visited him. We talked personally. The good news is that he agreed that I can spend the Christmas with him. The bad news is that he is doing his financial rampage again.

I hate to say it, but, I feel like this is one of the reasons that he wants to spend time with you again. That is very disappointing. You were better off spending time with your friend than being robbed of your hard-earned money. I'm happy for you as this is what you want, but, sad that it takes that to bring him.

Actually he still did not visited me. I visited him, and I initiated the contact. While he cannot/could not call me on the phone, he can/could write or call me on Facebook, but he did not. Until I called him on the phone. And he did not called me, he did not wrote to me anything since I visited him yesterday (2021.11.26). I do not know what to think about this.

It is hard to know what to think, not knowing him. If he seems safe and out of harm's way, there isn't much you can do.

If he seems safe and out of harm's way, there isn't much you can do.

Based on what I saw so far, he is currently in a loving family, but of course the appearances can be deceiving anytime, anywhere. If this is true, then I almost envy him. Especially after I asked him about the rent, and he said that he does not have to pay rent. He is helping with certain things, for example putting wood into the fire. I saw this. I also saw him wood cutting with an axe. They are heating the house with fire. They have kids, dogs and parrots. Looks like a really loving family.

Well, I am happy for him, but, if he is getting into financial ruin and issues or problems resulting in police/lawyers, they may ask him to leave. They cannot afford to have someone living as a family if he is in trouble.

I hope he continues to have a good relationship with them.

Oh, you do know how much I love the season of joy! I could love others just as much, but... tell the truth, aren't people nicer at this time of year? Then, it slowly slides away as the tax bills come in, another reason to be cranky.

So, I ask you, what is it that brings people to that special place or feeling at this time of year?

Oh, yay!! You are decorating today! You really are a little elf, aren't you?

You have quite a passionate way of expressing yourself and using beautiful words. I love it. I can perceive that you love this particular date, as I said before these days are to fill us with happiness and share with our loved ones, even with people close to us, like neighbors and colleagues.

Do you have any projects for these dates?

Projects such as making things or projects such as doing something? I am not quite sure which you mean.

We usually do some community projects for the Season, but, much has been put off because of COVID. We will have the usual family things going on, and right now, we are knee-deep in decorating.

I hope you are having a nice day and a wonderful weekend!

Hello @dswigle I'm back watersnake101 with my wife's account. Things were bad but I'm back up again. Your post is so festive and no one can have too much Christmas 😃. Season of joy is here and it feels soo soothing and almost another year has passed. Time flies by so fast. I'm glad to be back and I missed your poetry and your flowers.

Are you feeling better? I know that COVID and the world, in general, were not great for you. I hope that things are better and your family is well. Yes, almost another whole year has gone by. I am glad to see you back and I certainly miss your prolific writing and great articles.

Welcome back!

I wish you could see how I'm smiling as I read your post. You have a way with words and these words expressing your love for the season are just Christmassy!

... can one have too much Christmas?

Nope! It's a season of joyful celebration. It is never too much. In my home, we decorate and put up a tree only in the living room. I like that you spread your decorations all around the house, especially your bedroom. Very nice!

I'm counting down with you as well. Thanks for a lovely post and have a fabulous weekend! 😄

I know, right!!! One can never have too much Christmas! It is not a bad thing to put it up in the living room only. That is the way we did it growing up. I really like it in the bedroom, feels downright festive in there! :)

I am glad to see so many people that love the season of Joy! It is truly addictive, this awesome feeling!

Let's countdown together! Yes!

Have a great weekend!

NO !!!

There is NO way to have too many trees, large or small, trees of every size, shape and kind.

I've been working on festivating the house. Not quite done yet inside and outside not done yet either. What fun !

And so it begins !

Oh, it sounds fun!! I love getting it all ready for the oncoming season of Joy! I have to say that I agree with you, I think I could fit one of two more trees in here, LOL We will save that for another year.

We will be doing a little more outside. We were trying to wait until the leaves dropped, but, there are still plenty up there, so we won't wait on them any longer.

I look forward to seeing what you are doing! :) You always have a festive-looking house! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Mwah!

Thank you so much, Sam! @mcsamm It will definitely be a season of Joy this year, although, with the new strain of COVID, I hope that I am not speaking too soon.

Can you please post this on the #MarketFriday post? It is easier for all when they are together! Thanks so much, my friend!

Have a great weekend!

Well I hope I am wrong, but from all the news reports, it sounds like the Grinch may come in the form of an Omicrom this year. I guess it is another year of less is more as far as company and the such. Really a shame as it seemed like we were starting to make some progress out this misery.

Well, we can start now and make some progress from it spreading like wildfire. My hope is that we get a handle on this before it goes rogue.

It is going to be a good Christmas nevertheless. We will all get a little closer is my guess.

Yikes. Any closer and they will be under my skin.

One can never have too many Christmas trees. Or decorations. I even put a small Z-scale electric train around a tree on my desk!
