I roll over, and the moment takes its escape.
I glanced away and somehow it escaped. Nonetheless, the moment is not lost, for, the image was imprinted deeply in my mind.
I don't always trust what I feel, but, sometimes I take chances. I might buy an ever-so-occasional lottery ticket. Flip for the kind of sprinkles I want on my ice cream... watch a show on TV once - just to give it a chance. I have even canceled watching it, only to find out I didn't give it enough of a chance. Sigh. But, I don't count my steps or avoid sidewalk cracks like my life depends on it. I am bold like that.
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

I have not bought that since many years, but I bought some in the past. Even when I won something, I won mostly the price of the lottery ticket, once or twice a little bit more, but mostly nothing.
I think some people get addicted and spend way too much on it. Before the pandemic, I would buy one once a week...$52 bucks a year. Usually I would have some winners in among the losers, so it was not a huge loss after all.

Sure why not take a chance, here and there as long as the risk is not great. I believe it to be all about risk/reward. Jumping out of an airplane is not for me, spending a busk a week on a lottery ticket, sure good fun!
