Happy New Year!!!!!!
With the coming of a new year, come new opportunities to explore, friendships to nurture, and beautiful moments to cherish. Forever and ever. Tonight we say goodbye to the old, hoping we learned something from it and welcome in the brand new 2022.
Scotland’s poet laureate Robert Burns penned the famous words to “Auld Lang Syne” more than 200 years ago. On New Year’s, millions will raise their glasses and sing his famous words, embracing with alcoholic affection the nearest and momentarily, the dearest… The meaning to those three words translates roughly to “for the sake of old times.” Perhaps a snippet of another one of Burn’s poems, “A man of Man for All That” and the wishes of many respected and much-loved members of our society have more relevance than questioning whether to recall old acquaintances, as we welcome what will undoubtedly be a different New Year, in so many ways.
I just wanted to take a moment to wish all of my friends and family a very Happy New Year, 2022. New Year is like a new sunrise of hope, prosperity, and happiness. Don’t lose the opportunity to discover new joys, embark on fun journeys and meet new people. I intend to embrace the New Year with a positive outlook, which totally beats the alternative. source
Step back from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life and reflect on the year that is passing us by. It is the season of tidings of comfort and joy - we are supposed to look for the good in everyone. So, be kind and give it freely.
Please remember that New Year’s holiday is a time to enjoy and celebrate… but make the right choice for yourself, your friends and especially your family. Have fun, but arrive back safely, and please try not to bring anything extra home with you. As I wave goodbye, it is not without a catch in my throat. There was so much that I have to be grateful for in the last year; so many people to be thankful for, so many wonderful moments, so much, so many. My heart is full. I raise my glass to you, rejoicing in new beginnings. So without getting all teary-eyed before my night begins, I just want to take a moment to say to all: be safe, have fun and make 2022 the best year ever – Happy, Happy New Year!

I just finished watching a video from the oldguy saying how the bar was set so low in 2021 with everything that was going on. I have a good feeling about 2022 and as I've always said everyone only needs to read a posting of yours for a little boost.

Hello @buffalobison !! Happy New Year to you and yours! I set the bar high for '21 and didn't quite make the pole vault over, but, practice makes perfect and I think we have it down for this year.
I have a good feeling about it! We can really only go up from here, right? I learned a lot from last year, recipes, gardening, and growing different herbs. Worked hard, played longer, grew my hair longer. LOL ... this year, upping my exercise, maybe cutting my hair shorter, Starting quilts for next Christmas gifts...

I guess I haven't used my time constructively enough, but it sounds like you have. I really should be better at something else by now. LOL
It's the holiday family things that have been interrupted that bother me the most. Me, my Mom and sibs aren't getting any younger and it's simply not fair that we can' gather properly in these later years. Not fair !
For sure! The family things bother me the most. I had to tell one of my brothers and wife that he couldn't stay at my house when he was visiting Washington, DC last year. They both were not a fan of the masks and she is the one that got COVID on the way home from MY house after my other brother's funeral. Long story short, he got sick this time... so I feel vindicated with my decision. (Sort of)
I have had family here, but, it is not anywhere near the same as it has been.
May it be kind and gentle to us. This year will be good. I can feel it! Living alone and living with a family is really different and it motivates me more to have people around and to do things with. And I do have to get that other house finished... so I just have more things that NEED to be done. that is all. I have projects all over with my name on them.
Le sigh.
This year to be the best, to make it the best, it is my wish and I hope with all my heart that it will be so! For a moment I imagined that today is the last day of 2022 and that I can confirm that this was the best year ever. I am waiting with confidence. Happy New Year!... Salut!

We used our time so different and to be honest, it scared me when you and your wife had COVID. Your body had already been through so much when you had the accident on the stairs with furniture. Last year was a year of recovery, this year will be the year of living once again. It is with joy in my heart that I embrace this new year for us. I confirm it already! It shall be the best!
