It's Market Friday!

wine and glass.jpg

There are some things that a glass of wine just doesn't make better. Even if it is served with little pink roses, the lights dimmed and the glass still holds a chill. Missing out on an engagement party, where everyone you know was there, the food was amazing and the conversation was just what I needed. I haven't seen these people in a long time. Some since before Covid. It really has changed so much in my life, how about yours? My travel had been restricted and I am not sure about you, but, that hurt a little. Not only travel to other countries and States but, travel to my neighbors' houses. What a nightmare. We all still talk about some of these things and even the long-term effects of it. Has it had a huge impact on your life?

sunflower.jpg

My sunflower farm should be opening in about a month. I don't know about you, but, there isn't anything like an endless supply of sunflowers. Tall and commanding, they just demand your attention. And the view!

Le sigh

Soon. Do you have fields of sunflowers near you? Some of the farms have the outside perimeter of their property lined with sunflowers. #MarketFriday will be there to watch them bloom in person. This, of course, was closed to the public during Covid, however, the farm part stayed open and they continued to operate. I was glad for them as it was one less business that would be closing up and had the possibility of not opening again.

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on Hive.

Has your weather been crazy this year or is it in the same weather pattern as always? Truth be told, we have been having rain, more than normal, but, it usually comes at the end of the day, mostly into the night. So, even though I have been homebound with my feet propped up, it has been not too bad because the weather has been a bit - under the weather. That was a freebie, I didn't even get charged for that.

image.png

This was an outing to Luray Caverns over in the Shenandoah Valley. It has underground stone formations called stalagmites and stalactites. I am probably going back next month as I haven't been there since... well you know. It has been kind of fun and a little bit odd rediscovering things, all over again. How has it been for you? Are you already used to everything, all over? I am all about the flowers, on a normal basis, but, now and then I will toss in something else.

image.png

Denise has been down and has been unable to do much (that means nothing) for the last week. My apologies for the absence, but, it should be uphill from here. I miss you all and thank you for being so kind and thoughtful, leaving messages and sending notes. Thank you. Very much.

caribbean.jpg

I have been closing my eyes and dreaming of other places, where wine is served chilled or perhaps your drink will come in a pineapple.

image.png

For the record, I had to return my airline ticket being used for the shower, so the purchase was refunded. Not exactly a #MarketFriday that I want to remember.

orange trumpets.jpg

Just like the area surrounding them, the flowers are wild and free. Flowers, always. To color my world. #alwaysaflower. Orange trumpets on the beaches. There is no chance of stopping these, they will grow anywhere and make it their home. The only thing that will stop them from growing is a pair of clippers, garden sheers if you will. It is a hardy grower and produces a mountain of orange trumpets, such a beautiful showstopper. I would call it invasive, but that sounds so very negative, don't you think? Let's call them extremely prolific, and leave it at that.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

1.Go to any type of market, or anywhere where you pay money for a service. It can be a museum, a movie theatre, or an auction. Be creative!
2.Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? We like to compare prices, otherwise, it is just pictures of a market!
3.Post the pictures! No out-of-focus ones, please! Tell a little bit about the pictures that you post. Having many pictures to scroll through does not make a better post without explanation.
4.Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated) If you don't, then #MarketFriday should be your first tag
5.Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
6 You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
7.#MarketFriday post should be submitted sometime on Friday UTC
8.The post MUST be in English
9.Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

Glad to hear you are doing well now. I love sim flowers. I especially love the yellow color and would love to see a field with lots of it. Wouldn’t mind having a picnic close to one.

Flowers are a beautiful part of life, isn't it? The yellow flowers are sunflowers and the fields are amazing!

Picnics and flowers are a perfect way to spend the day. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words.

I love sunflowers! I have a biggish tattoo of a sunflower on my upper arm. It's to remind me of my late mum. Glad to see things are improving for you. ❤️

I love sunflowers too~ I just bought a dress online today with sunflowers on it. Yikes~ I must be getting old. It looks like such a happy garment, I couldn't resist. Oh, you should do a post on your tattoo and the meaning behind it. I love those kind of stories. :)

Thank you, Julie, for stopping by! I started feeling a bit better yesterday, after being like a train wreck for a week, it feels pretty good.

Have a great weekend~

I hate being homebound. It does help if the weather is sucky right enough. At least if it gets better you could sit outside with your feet up!

My sunflowers are looking good. Still think there might be a few weeks before an opening. Can't wait!

I hate being relegated to the house only. Of course, I felt like I was freight trained, so I was okay with doing nothing, not even the computer. I actually couldn't and had my daughter reading to me. She is a trooper.

I really started feeling better yesterday and the only way is up, yes? Sitting outside with my feet propped sounds like a stellar idea. Tomorrow is going to be 28C so a little bit of sunshine sounds divine.

Your sunflowers are so far ahead! The field here doesn't bloom in unison until about the end of July. I can't wait either, such a glorious site.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words.

Our weather's probably as crazy as yours, I'm guessing...

You shared beautiful photos. I love flowers, too. Who doesn't, right? And your underground stone formation photo got my attention. Looks like some galactic, fantasy AI art creation. Awesome nature beauty.

Stay well. Have a good day!

Oh dear.....I feel like our dear Denise needs a hug. And, yes, there is very little that a glass of wine can actually cure. Or wait. It doesn't really fix the problem just numb and delay. But a hug. Ah. Hugs....

Although I see that the reason many are reaching for that glass of wine is because of the lack of hugs. I'm sorry Denise. You don't even have sunflowers yet. But I do! Just one. And why you may ask in the chill of winter do I have a happy sunflower? Because the weather is very much under the weather here too. I like that expression. Could I borrow it? Our weather is so bizarre that I often catch myself feeling like I'm back in England. Wet, windy, grey. Miserable. And that is the total opposite of what our delicious sunny Karoo usually has on offer. Summer or winter.

May the suns embrace lift your spirit!

EDIT: And on that note I whipped up a post 😏 https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@buckaroobaby/all-in-a-days-birthday

The wine was a good photo op. The last thing anyone needs when they feel like they were freight trained is alcohol. :) But, a hug, yes! Anyday if fact. ❤️

I really won't get the full fields until the end of July, but, I patiently wait~! Oh, your winter is summer still? The weather is very much under the weather - free to use. :) That does sound a little like England! It was too much for me to want to live there forever. It is such a great place, with amazing sights and sounds, the smells... but forever? Yeah, no. But, ask me again in another year, and maybe. :)

Oh!! A sunflower? Only for you! Mine will be blooming en masse probably by the end of July! I can hardly wait. May the suns embrace your spirit! What a lovely thought. Thank you! You posted~! Thank you so much!

I'm sorry about your health. I hope you are recovering. Sorry about the rain.. it's a little bit much this period but it's fine that it comes in the evenings when all the day's work might probably be done

Good Morning
Glad to hear your feeling a bit better

As for how did Covid affect me, I was lucky in a way in that it started just as I retired so I didn't have the hassle of going into work or telecommuting to deal with, it did affect some plans we had for travel after retiring, but then Lulus health issues also put a damper on that idea so I cannot blame it all on the pandemic

here is my post for this week https://peakd.com/hive-194913/@tattoodjay/market-friday-new-bedford-regional-airport

As for you, it was coincidental with Covid and retirement. What a great break for you to pick the date before it happened. I have a feeling that might have tied you there for a while more. So many of the government jobs were not taking resignations/retirements. Ha!

The plans for travel can be pushed to a later date when everything is all better or changed for smaller plans that might work. Time will tell. It may surprise you and give you different opportunities.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your kind and thoughtful words. I do appreciate it. Thanks for dropping your link and for your awesome support.

Since I was a semi recluse before covid, at first it did not phase me that much and later as reports of others having a hard time with it began to appear, I still was doing fine.

But.... it went on too long and although I was not previously the type that was on the go constantly, there is something about having the freedom and general feeling of safety to still go whenever I wanted. I went on way too long though and the hermit life got old. I have had a little bit of a hard time coming out of it and am not all the way out of it yet. I have only recently started going in ANYWHERE without my mask. I have worn mine much longer than most around here, but I have not been the only one, just in the minority. It doesn't feel right and I am still always wondering if I will pay for it by getting sick. I still try to keep my distance if I can without trying to be too obvious about it.

A lot of smaller places I have loved closed of course and some are still there, but with far less stock of the things I loved, which means, they get less of my business. Vicious circle I know, but what is one to do?

It has not waited till the evening or night here to rain. Rain rain rain all week. Right now as I get ready to sign on to work, it is pouring so hard the whole house is roaring and has been since before I got out of bed.

Nothing like a happy sunflower! Hope you are getting better and better !

I am actually glad you were telecommuting before Covid kicked in. What a great break that was for you!

I was thinking about how long it went on and wondered if I would have done anything differently if I had known it would be forever and a day. Perhaps exercise more? I worked more than normal... I buried my brother, at a funeral that only two relatives were allowed to come. The news out there was harsh and the days were long. Get the shot, don't get the shot.

I am glad it is all over.

The masks are worn here on and on again, off again. Not sure what is going on, but, it surprises me that so many young people are wearing them. No kidding! But, everyone has to do whatever is comfortable with.

Well, you will get out more when you are comfortable. There is so much change in the retail business, grocery, and travel. But, I have to admit, I went to the dentist during Covid, and all the other places to keep me good. I am glad it is finally gone the way of the Dodo bird. Or something like that. I am glad you are getting out there and hope you find some new places that are starting to pop up. I feel like everything is going to be online soon!

Oh, the horrors!!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words~! The good wishes warm my heart! Thank you! ❤️ There absolutely is nothing like a happy sunflower~!!

I didn't go all those places I should have during. I have gotten back to my routine doctor visits, but not the dental. (what??). I am working on gearing my mind up to get all the health stuff caught up. I hate going to do those things, so needing to do several close together makes me anxious !

I know the rhetoric has changed and the initial scare is not on the surface, but I find it funny that people say it is over. My understanding that about the only thing that is over is it being in the forefront of the news anymore. Hardly anybody is telling it, but lots of it is still going on and although the hospitals don't appear to be full of immediately dying people, there seems to be a huge amount of people with the general term "long covid" that in the background, the medical industry has been trying to gear up to understand and address. I know the world could not stay closed forever and closing has made a real mess of things and I don't know the better answer, but it is definitely still here.

I'm trying to do better..... slowly and reluctantly. :)

Many say it to themselves for self-preservation. It has been years and just seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is a relief in many ways. No matter how small, it is better than the doom and gloom that was being spun.

The US had the largest loss with over 107 million cases and 1 million deaths. China fared the best in handling it. Ironic, yes? The hospitals are not full, nor in the panic they once were, but, just like the flu, we still have some cases and people are still dying from it. The strain is not the same and we are working our way back from it all.

I have to made a line in the sand and stepped over it, allowing myself to move forward and live a little. Not in a willy-nilly sort of way, but, there is so much joy that is needed in the world right now. We need to feel safe once again. I was thinking back before 9/11 is the last time I felt like we had it all, or at least never felt like anything could happen to us. After that, I knew what being vulnerable felt like. I had never truly felt that. Do I incessantly worry? No, I think I just never allow myself to take things for granted, Enjoy the little things in life and hope I treat everyone I come across in life as nice and kind as I would want to be treated.

It has changed me in things like that.

I did go to the dentist. I was the first patient in the morning and the office was sanitized every night. I showered when I got home from everywhere. I went grocery shopping, but I never stopped nor got the delivery or drive-by. I worked. I tried hard to remain as normal as possible. And I didn't get it. Nobody in my house did. I know. We were lucky, but we also took proper measures to ensure it.

Long Covid is not quite understood and I am not sure they have enough time to analyze its effects. Some say it will go away in time, but, it is a real thing.

I am not crazy, I know it is still out there, but, so is the flu and other variants of it. None of them will go away, but at least we are not locking ourselves out of life right now.

You will find your way back. Honestly, I can still see the difference in how I feel, even though I have been on three cruises and several vacations last year. It is different and not anything I am fond of, but, I have come to accept the change as ongoing and moving slowly with it.

Oh yes, covid changed my life in many ways actually.
I couldn’t visit friends and family abroad… even lost a few. Still haven’t visited all since the beginning of the pandemic. It hurts… yes it does.

I can imagine you are looking forward to collecting some sunflowers 🌻 soon, yes soon…

The weather has been crazy on this side of the pond too.
Predictions rain for the next 10 days… and temperatures drop a lot. It looks like the summers and winters are getting more extreme.

Rest some more Denise and don’t worry about us. We are here to support and wait until you are all fit again.
Sending you big !HUG (s) and much love ❤️
Take care 🤗🌺

You really uprooted at such a challenging time. I really felt bad for you. Although a little excited as the adventure of it is always calling on me.

I refuse to look at the ten-day forecast! I don't want to pull out my hair, you know? Where did you put my sunshine?

Our summer tried coming in early February after a warm *Mediterranean" Winter. Then at the end of March, we had our first frost of the winter!! What???? It froze all the fruit trees, my cheery blossoms, and flowers. Then it was chilly for a month~ Then sort of summer. Last week was chilly. Actually, it was 28C here today and this weekend will be much warmer, so perhaps we can get our summer back. What a weird stretch of weather the world has had.

I'm on the mend!! Thank you for your good wishes! I apologize if I wasn't able to get back to you when you were so kind to send words and wishes. Thank you! ❤️

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words and leaving your link! I love Spain~!!

Yep moved a few times during covid. The worse was from Malta back to Spain when it just started and lock downs everywhere. It so over complicated doing paperwork too. Pppfffff
Aawww thank you for that Denise 🥰 and indeed the adventure of it all… does keep is going!

Oh I know, I don’t like to watch at the weather predictions. They don’t look good…
No idea where the sun and summer went.
I hope it will warm up at yours and the summer finally starts, as that was a crazy half year you had weather wise. Wow…

Good to hear you are recovering ❤️‍🩹 you are so welcome. Anytime… sending lots of healing energy your way. 🍀🍀🍀🍀

I am happy I can join in… love to share my adventures.
Enjoy as much as you can your weekend 🤗 take care…

I am not sure where it all went to either, but, I can tell you that it was 28C today and tomorrow will be warmer, Beats the temperatures from earlier in the week, chilly and rainy. What? I know! What happened to my summer? Technically, it is summer, I am still waiting for it to come. I'm sure it will be here any day now. I try not to look at the weather predictions. I haven't seen anything pleasing about it.

I am feeling better, thank you. Do you know what it feels like when you are feeling better, but not quite there? That is it! Thank you! Enjoy your weekend too~!

Wow… can you imagine it’s 15 degrees Celsius here this morning. It will go up to 18 degrees Celsius 😊
I am not complaining at all. You know. I like it. It is such a difference from hot and humid southern Spain. I can breath normally 🥰

Good to hear it has been nice the last days, maybe it’s a start of your summer 🤞🏻🍀 let’s hope.

That’s great! Yes, I know exactly that feeling… almost but not yet. So take it easy, don’t overdo it.
As I know you are a bit like me. We tend to keep going.
You are welcome Denise 👋🏻😊 enjoy your Sunday!
Thanks a lot.
Take care.

That cave looks amazing! And the flowers are very pretty.

I hate diseases. I understand that we have to humble ourselves, the world around us is imperfect and we ourselves are imperfect too. But diseases are insidious, they sneak up on us at the worst possible moment and kill both ourselves and our joy in life.

Have a good weekend, Denise! Be well!

I hope to never see another pandemic in my lifetime, or anyone else's, for that matter. It was horrifying to watch the world shut down. Unheard of, in fact. But, better times are here and I hope that this had taught us a little something. That said it quite well, diseases are insidious...

Thank you for the wishes and have a great weekend! Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping your link.

I'm so glad to see you back Denise, and that you're on the way to good health!
How I'd love to see your sunflower farm; those were Mom Lily's absolute favourite flowers. Who cannot smile when they see a field of sunflowers!

The sunflowers bloom en masse around the end of July, so I am looking forward to them and hope to get lots of great pictures to post. I can see why Mom Lily loved them best! They have such a personality, don't they? I love decorating with them or even just having a few poking here and there. I agree~ A perpetual smile on my face for sure~!

Sounds like a nice trip, so I look forward to it. My health is good, just unscheduled surgery. ❤️ Thank you for dropping your link!

The flowers are really a sight go behold and have around us,at least it gives a sign of relief from all the burdens we endure. Covid did all of us harm but we learnt the importance of appreciating one another everyday, you never can tell whose turn it will be to return to our maker.

Hope you are healing up quickly.
My prayers are with you ma🙏

It seems like our weather is mimicking yours, it has been cold here with rain almost everyday. Quite unusual I must say.

Yes, Covid had a massive impact on us as well. But we try to put that behind us and build for the future!

Yes, our weather is also far from normal. We got rain until much later in the year than I expected!

Glad to hear that you are getting ready to be back in action!

You will find my post for this week here.

Covid was terribly devastating~! For the world. I have put it behind me, but, don't forget the lesson. Never forget the lesson.

The world's weather is so very off. I have to admit, I gave it this year to get the crazies out of its system and then settle down. :)

I am feeling better! Yay!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping your link!

Good question! Certain things, we have no control over and we have to deal with that. But some lessons are also not very pleasant to learn and we need to take note of what we can do differently (or not at all) in the future.

It's really very disappointing when you can't attend an important event for you. Unfortunately it happens. We went through two months of vocational training and were not able to attend the graduation when we issued certificates of this training in solemn form. In the last week of training, half of the group fell ill with covid, including us. How do you feel? I hope you are better now? Are you at home or still in the hospital? The photos are amazing (as always!) 😀

That is so disappointing to miss your graduation, but you are right! It happens and we just need to move on from it or wallow in sadness.

I am feeling better, and yes! I am home. Thank you so much for your lovely words. I hope you are not feeling any residual from the Covid. Who took care of who when you were both sick????

I am very glad that you are already at home and feeling better! get well soon, dear! we are all waiting for your new interesting posts about your trips. we were not very upset that we could not attend the solemn part - we were very tired by that time. Thank you for asking about our health! you probably already noticed that I care a lot about our health, so I buy a lot of high-quality essential oils and dietary supplements. We have been using FLP (Forever Living Products) products for almost a year now. maybe you are familiar with it. is an American company that has managed to enter the Israeli market. This is the second time I've come out of covid with absolutely no consequences thanks to their products. we regularly drink their aloe vera juice and vitamins, so covid passed with us in a very mild form. but quarantine of course had to be observed so as not to infect others. take care my dear!!!!

I have been closing my eyes and dreaming of other places, where wine is served chilled or perhaps your drink will come in a pineapple.

It's winter here, so me too!

I haven't visited for a while for some reason, just keep missing Fridays as the weekends are busy. I understand you've suffered a loss? I feel terrible I don't know! Anyway much love to you!

I'm with you! Winter or summer, give me that pineapple or even a coconut filled with something good and a straw.

Do you know what's crazy? My weekends are busy too and that is why I am stretched so thin sometimes.

I understand you've suffered a loss?

No! I had unexpected surgery, but, everything else is well. Thank you for your thoughts! 💙

Thank you, kindly, It is always a pleasure to get a visit from @riverflows! Have a great weekend!

Oh no ... Denise. Sorry to hear you have been down. Nothing serious I hop. We do love you so around these parts. To you question ... you know I how I feel about the events of the last few years. It has affected me; times were truly rough but it also made me stronger, more spiritual, and gave me more confidence in my intelligence. I'll speak out sooner next time and whole lot louder. LOL

A bit of surgery, but, I am well on the mend. I do know how you felt and it was a harsh time for all for different reasons. So much was taken away from us with it and some of it- we will never get back. It changed the face of how we do some things and altered life.

I hope all is well with you in your corner. It is so quiet here I almost didn't recognize it. 💙 Glad to see you and thank you for stopping by and leaving your link.

First of all, thank goodness to hear from you again!
I think you've gotten used to my lack of understanding (of texts and forms in everyday English), so I'll tell you that I didn't understand, I think I misunderstood what happened to you. Something about eyes? I was relying on the fact that you said you got through it fine and everything would be fine. I hope it's fine and I don't want you to tire yourself out, so I'd just like a very brief response from you!

Now you mention Covid and that intrigues me and makes me curious. Here in Romania, we've kind of forgotten about Covid for about a year now, I think. Of course, after a first Covid that was very bad for us, Magda and I, I think we had another one last month that was more like a brief cold. We forgot to strictly protect ourselves anymore, we just do common sense. We've also had our fourth vaccine, much to the displeasure of many unbelievers, and I think it's helped us from worse. Anyway, the aftermath of the first Covid was significant and bad, I think that's when the problems I have with my heart started...

Sunflower, of course, @dswigle! Much anticipated by our family too. Here it will bloom on the same date as yours, I'm sure none of us will miss the moment.... and Hive, of course.

While you were asleep, ah no, that's a movie title, I think. While you were recovering from surgery, we took a short trip. Guess where? I'm sure you did!

It's so fresh in my memory that I'll bore our colleagues here for a long time with my sea stories. I thought I'd call it a series, haha... Anyway, I have my annoyances with Hive too, so if Hive gets annoyed with me because of boredom... it'll be even!

Good health, Denise! Less work and more sleep, rest, and relaxation. Let's enjoy this summer to the fullest...

The link, where is the link? I found it and I hurry(?) to send it to you.

Hi, Dan! @bluemoon It was a little hard for even me to understand, so I truly get it. I actually had a little surgery, but, I am doing fine. There was healing and recovery, but no Hive. :)

My daughter read me posts every day, so it was nice to keep up with everyone, but, no real comments, so... the absence.

I would guess the same can be said here, with Covid. It is all but forgotten, however, the US sustained the largest impact with 107 million cases and over a million deaths. Nobody else came close. Could be the way we handled it? I won't even venture to guess. But, it was pretty terrible. I have gone on three cruises in the last year and although Covid is not present in daily living, there are still things in place to ensure we never get to that place again. I worked, shopped for the family, and carried on life as best I could. I went to the dentist, doctor and did daily video chats with older family members who were far away. It was important to keep up with them so they didn't get lost in our busy times. It was a trying time, but, very glad we can move forward. We must move forward or we will be stuck in it forever.

It is possible your heart problem could be related, but my thoughts are that nobody will say one way or another. Too many lawsuits going on with the Covid shots and their side effects. I have made a line in the sand and have stepped over it. I still protect myself in a different way, but, nothing you would notice. It is not insane like it was, but, still, there is a small presence of care taken.

Did you go to Balchik? The Black Sea? How nice! I lost sense of time as I remember you and Magda were going to go this month. I am so glad you made it. I don't get bored with your posts or stories! If you think that, you are sadly mistaken. It is fun to live life vicariously through you. You have different experiences than I do, and that makes it interesting to me. So never think differently. As you can see from my posts, the good comes to one and it leaves eventually. It has nothing to do with being in favor, but, giving everyone a little. Keep on posting, Dan. You may not always get rewarded what it deserves, but, you have brought joy to many, including myself.

Summer fun is just beginning according to the calender! I hope you found everything open this time. I can hardly wait to go check out your post.

Well, Denise, @dswigle, you didn't listen to my request not to write such a long reply. I don't want you to make an effort and strain your eyes.

I know you don't get bored with my posts, you have told me so many times and I can't forget that.

We managed to go to Balchik. It was good. It was over quickly. I still don't know what's next until the end of summer. It's a hard year for our family and I don't have high expectations for the near future... but I remain optimistic for a pleasant surprise.

I hope, Denise, that you have a pleasant summer and it would be nice to start it off with a better week!

I have been worried that it is your son and his family. I really hope not, but you are too worried about it to be something small.

I didn't spend a lot of time on it, it was up and I added on to it and added on to it. :) Eventually, I decided I better send it off.

Thank you, always, Dan.

Well, Denise, unfortunately, you guessed it! It's mainly about my son and his family. I'm only telling you, although anyone can see... but who cares about our talk?

Ilinca's parents were never married and after three years they separated. Our son came back to live with us again. Ilinca, of course, stayed with her mother. They live close to us and so we can easily reach Ilinca and take care of her. This spring Ilinca's mother discovered throat cancer. She had two operations and then radiology and chemotherapy in April and May. Very hard. Now she is better, going to work (a very stressful one, she is the marketing director at a big multinational, the Romanian branch of a famous beer brand) but there are still emotions until we see a full recovery and healing!

There have been other problems but they seem small compared to what Ilinca's mother went through...
So you've noticed well what is the root cause of my stress right now.

Thank you for your attention and care!

Hi, Dan. @bluemoon I did not forget about this, as a matter of fact, I read it almost immediately and was truly devastated for your family. For Ilinca, even though her mom is not taken by cancer, it has changed her in a way you or I cannot understand. Even your son, this has to have affected him. they were a family once upon a time. I know something very profound was happening in the background with you, I just didn't know. She is a very accomplished woman and obviously is doing her best, well enough to go back to work. All that she has endured, all the worry, all this for her and your family. I hope she has a mom and dad too, one that surrounds her at this time.

I could see it in Ilcinca's face, that day at the restaurant. Nothing obvious, just not here lighthearted little girl charm.

The stress! I would have stress too, my friend. Things that are out of your control. I know how your heart is sad right now. This is more than a family can bear, especially one that loves as much as you and Magda.

I hope that you see the healing and recovery that should come with time. You and your family and especially Ilinca's mom are in my thoughts and prayers. xo

Thanks, @dswigle! I know you are praying for good to return and I thank you.

The life Magda and I had prepared for when we retired was totally changed, both spiritually and materially. We kept putting things off for ourselves, thinking that when we didn't have to work anymore it would be better. Life decides otherwise. We hope it will be good for Ilinca's mother and, implicitly, for Ilinca. Obviously, Ilinca doesn't understand what is happening but she is, as you say, deeply scarred.

I wouldn't want to tell that story. Telling you helped me and thank you again!

I'm not sure I would call her deeply scarred and perhaps confused as to what was happening all around her. That would be confusing to a child so young. At the time it was going on, the treatments and such, I am sure it was not easy explaining to her, something that she would be able to understand.

Life never really goes the way we plan, at least not anyone I know. The unknown can never be fully planned for, because, it is unknown. I am sorry that things were put off for a better time. What I can say is that we never know how our future will work out and perhaps God or the Universe will see fit to make some of it better. Where there is life, there is hope. Be well and take care of your beautiful little family. XO

Life doesn't go as planned. That's for sure! I never even planned and yet I was taken by surprise, even though I didn't have high expectations.

Hope remains. We always hope for the best, both for ourselves and our loved ones. Sometimes hopes come true.

Wishing you a good week, @dswigle!

PS In my most recent post I wrote about how I met Magda. If you want to know the story...

It's really good to hear that you are feeling better now. Yes, I miss your interactions with your beautiful and sweet thoughts on it.

Hi, Michael! I am feeling much better now! I miss the interactions with my Hive friends too. I think it becomes part of your life.

The introduction isn't sad so much as just a thought running through my head, I have had time on my hands and so they may meander a little. Life will never be the same, I have to agree, but, something else may have changed it. We will never know.

I believe we have made a nice mess of things, but, most are finding a way to make life right for them. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words, then dropping your link.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling up to par.

Covid took away my buffets for a couple of years. Sad but I lost some weight because it it I bet lol.

I have been in VA for 7 days and it has rained all 7 days. Most days, ALL day. Wow. Can I get a re-do?

0

avatar

Well, I have been a real drag, you know. :) Nothing a little R&R won't fix.

That is a great weight loss plan! Sadly, I never ate at buffets, so everything I have stayed with me. I do think you have lost a lot of weight, but, then again, you were on the move all the time, so that extra movement helped. Okay, to be fair, the buffet probably did too.

Surely there are buffets again, yes?

You are already down in Virginia? Who knew? Not me. As usual, you brought the good weather with you. What is next? Locusts? He he. Try to keep it over that side of the state, yes? If you hurry, you can get back to Michigan in time for the rain to begin for the week. If you look at the world right now, everyone (seriously!) is having rain and colder temperatures than normal. No lie! I don't understand it, but, it is true.

I am truly happy it is all over with. I am sure there was a lot of last-minute angst in selling the house, but, it is done and the only way back is to start fresh. There are new memories to be made and exciting adventures to be had. New neighbors, a brand new lake to explore, and a house to decorate and start construction on your lower level. Life will be good once again.

Sorry, no do-overs... Foward, march!

Welcome to Virginia!!

I am sorry to hear that you are not doing well. Though I didn’t get what health problem you have exactly got. I wish you the best state of health.

About covid....is it still restricting you?
The two years of covid bounded us but now we have gatherings freely. Covid is a thing long gone.

The weather at my place is hot. We expected rain as per the prediction but no rain came. We are still waiting. Hehe.

My post this week: https://ecency.com/hive-150329/@kaminchan/market-friday-missing-my-uncle

I know you have the stamina to endure the process of recovering from illness. But you’d active and lively heart just wants to bounce up and get things done! Be cool! Your chance is waiting around the corner.

Last month I had a very bad back and couldn’t move much for ten days! Then it took me another two weeks to regain my weights and strength; I was able to use my dumbbells once again to build up muscles! I had taken my good health for granted too long!

I have been dispensing medicine (which couldn’t be found at regular drug stores as the authority had banned all effective drugs for fight Covid). Luckily, I was able to help almost twenty families and some friends who were willing to open their mind.

This link may be useful as she talked about how to detox the body of foreign particles and adjuvants, spike proteins etc.

https://rumble.com/v2w777c-cancer-is-exploding-because-of-cv19-vax-dr.-betsy-eads.html

I would recommend that you take at least
2000-3000 mg of Vitamin C per day and at least 10,000 iu of D3 per day. You coukd take one or two tablets after each meal.

Quercetin is very essential, it saved my friends health affer she had five vaxx jabs.

Zincs chelate: you need only one tsbket oer day!

NAC or glutathione is really essential for boosting your immune system as it will get rid of heavy metals and graphene oxide in vaxx.

You should ground yourself on earth by sitting, standing or lying flat on the lawn. This will give more negative charge to your blood electrons so you will be healed much faster.

Good luck and get well soon!
Best wishes.

I am so happy that you are feeling so much better now. You have certainly had a time of it, haven't you? I was so sorry to hear you were mending in one of your posts as I did not realize you had surgery.

Covid hit hard in our house starting with me. My husband and I stayed in different parts of the house, wore masks, and did the best we could. He however came down with it after I was finished. That started the process all over again. The worst part was him getting viral pneumonia on top of it. I was so anxious that he would have to end up in the hospital but thankfully he made it through. It was the longest 2 months of my life not being able to leave the house.

Now, for the Sunflowers..... Yes, we have a farmer that plants a fairly good-sized field of them. I will have to take a drive and see if he did so again this year. They are always so stunning and you can't help but smile just seeing them all.

Take care of yourself and try not to overdue it. ♥

The cave looks massive, I didn't know the Shenandoah Valley had big caves. I do miss that about back home, southern Illinois/Indiana and west Kentucky have so many caves, especially Marengo Cave, a massive one near my home. Funny you mention sunflowers, before the war in Ukraine sunflower oil imported from Ukraine was the cheapest and healthiest cooking oil available here in Cambodia, now it's all gone and we're paying more for Thai soybean oil.

0

Marengo Cave is one of the privately owned ones, isn't it? But, in a National Park? Now I am going to have to look it up.

The Shenandoah has several caves and I have to admit, they are kind of cool. Having been out to Carlsbad Caverns several times, it isn't nearly as big, but, it is a great size and so fun to wander through. I was wowed the first time I went through one of these caves! Carlsbad was my first. Totally thunderstruck by it.

Oh, that is sad about the sunflower oil. That is what I like best, although I do use a lot of olive oil too. Are you not able to source it from anywhere else? Of course, I guess it makes sense to use Asian sources to support the economy, but, I have never used soybean oil. Do you like it as well, aside from the price?

Hi, Justin! I hope all is well with the whole family!

I think you're right, not 100% sure though because it's been so long. I have been to New Mexico many times for climbing, hiking, and rafting, but unfortunately have never been to the caverns in Carlsbad. We use olive oil too, but a bit expensive here, so it's our luxury oil to use in small amounts. We don't like soybean oil, but there are few choices here, so we just accept and hope for the return of Ukrainian sunflower oil.
