The Twelfth Day of Christmas - The End

avatar

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me:

Twelve Drummers Drumming
Eleven Pipers Piping
Ten Lords a Leaping
Nine Ladies Dancing
Eight Maids a Milking
Seven Swans a Swimming
Six Geese a Laying
Five Golden Rings
Four Calling Birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

The Twelfth Night is usually celebrated on the night of Jan. 5, and is considered the end of the Christmas season, before the Epiphany the following day

It’s over. Over. Over…

Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and even Christmas is gone, gone, gone… Three King’s Day was my last hurrah, and now that the "12th day of Christmas" has come and gone… It is all wrapped, packed, and put away. Long live the spirit of Christmas. Shalom.

A flower, always. To color my world. #alwaysaflower

And just like that, this post is over. Come back tomorrow and we'll do it again and again until we get it right or until the world is right, whichever comes first.

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Some days, it is not as easy to see, just how wonderful it really is. For me, I try to do my part. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Shakespeare

You got it all put away in a day ?? Wow !

I don't take anything down or turn anything off till my after my birthday, which is this coming Saturday. After that day, I don't turn the outside lights on anymore and and only have the Christmas tree on after the blinds are closed. I may then slowly start putting away a thing or two, but not in a hurry and saving the tree till last. I don't have a set date for it to come down, just whenever I feel like it. LOL !! I'm not sure my tree has ever come down in January, but it could have and I have just forgotten.

Only 354 days till Christmas !!

I always do it in one day, it just drags it on for me when I don't. Although, truth be told. it saddens me to take the lights off the tree and put the tree on the curb.

Le sigh.

If I worked from home, I probably would never take it down, I love the fairy tale magic of it all and could live like that all year long. Maybe I should leave one up on the lower level. Wouldn't that be nice to have the magic continue? Maybe next year!

Only 349 days till Christmas!

This year I could probably put it all away in one day, because I didn't put out everything I have, but I don't know if I will. It is the day after birthday though, so at some point before dark I will go out and unplug the outside lights. I will however turn the tree on after the blinds are close. It gets to light up until it comes down !

I always thought it would be nice to have a den or room of some type where a tree would stay up always. Then if a day wasn't kind or was too harrid... there would be a place to go in, turn it on and let it sooth the outside world all away. Yeah.... I could love that.

Yay ! It's getting closer !!

I used to have a seasonal tree (until I moved from San Antonio) and it was a pencil tree that was 6 feet tall. I put Easter, Valentines, Halloween... It was fun! I have no idea why I stopped decorating it, but, I may do another one because it was so fun and I got to decorate it all year long.

Oh, yeah, you need to add on a den! Do you think your uncle would mind? :))

The tree need a good long rest to recharge for next season! Time flies quite fast! Soon you’ll have to start shopping for decorations to add to the Christmas tree once more!

Have a nice day!

I only allow myself one new Christmas bulb a year. I love decorations, but, I have so many beautiful ones and if I buy more there would be no room to put these up!

I will recharge for the year and be ready!!!

Only 349 days till Christmas~ :))

I cannot say that I blame you! I love seeing them at night too! I should have left one up in the lower level (down near the gym and media room and and and) Maybe next year I will do that and have a year-round tree.

Doesn't that sound like a good idea? I used to have a seasonal tree and decorate it for Easter, Halloween, Fourth of July, etc... It was a pencil tree that was 6 feet tall. When I moved here, I stopped doing it. I have no idea why, but, seems like I needed a reason to start doing it again.

Such a happy tree it was!

Merry Christmas, beauty! Can you believe I used lavender during the season of joy?? I hope that all is well with you and that you are surviving the COVID season well. I cannot believe that it has been almost a year of life we have been living in the shadow.

And somehow, we have persevered! Love to you, my friend. XOXO
