The Untimely Manner of Trees

avatar

There was no light seeping into my windows this morning; I was left instead to toss about until it felt just right, to get up and wander about. On the beach can make that all go away, as there is never a bad day to be on the beach. Winter nor rain can take that away. The tide may be rough, but the reward is the beautiful shells that are drug along with it, leaving gifts on the shore for me to find.

Time shifted and the light wove its way into my day, giving a bit of life to it. Let's do it. Let's hit it! It is time for a walk. It is my favorite part of the day, spending time in my head, solving the problems of the world, Just me and my thoughts today, figuring out where I can make a difference, in this whole big world. It needn't be big, a lot of smalls count in a big way.

sunset with tree b&w.jpg

The clouds came out in an untimely manner, but, I still managed to enjoy the present moment in time. You should practice it until it is second nature, it takes time to develop. Knowing how to appreciate what’s in front of you has nothing to do with what you actually have. Never forget about yourself. You are important too.

I got stuck on a road that was bumper-to-bumper traffic, and my guess is that there was a fender bender. So I took the exit and used surface streets which brought me along the Atlantic Coastline. The trees are low, having been punished by torrents of wind, all the while, trying to grow. Makes for an interesting tree for Tuesday. I so adore the beauty of our world, the uniqueness of nature, and the sacred scents of the earth. Oh, how I love thee. It is with such pleasure that I put some trees in my post and join #TreeTuesday with @old-guy-photos. Show me your trees!

A piece of my day today.... it was gorgeous, albeit... a little bit on the warm side. Not as refreshing as I had hoped. Some people are having cooler mornings, but none of that is here. As I am contemplating if I should run or walk home, it starts raining on me... Hey, Mother Nature... let's not get carried away!

Do you know it has rained on me the last three times I have gone out to run? Not walking so much. I wonder if someone is trying to tell me something. Run more? Run less? Stop running? Do you run or walk or perhaps both? What do you do to keep your body moving?

tree in color.jpg

I do so love the evergreen, promising them a show of confidence in them every Tuesday. I bow down to the evergreen, giving me color all year round. I have never cared for them as much as I love them now. I still love the nekkid trees in the winter, exposing their branches, and framing their beauty. What is your favorite kind of tree?

christmas tree for tree tuesday.png

Shhhhh! You know I haven't put one up in a long time! How can that be, especially with me? I have been good, I swear! Not even putting up a tree on a dare. Not that I care. I would do it anyway, go ahead and stare. I didn't want to lose my touch or forget how to do it, please don't judge.

Is it wrong to post a Christmas Tree on #TreeTuesday? After all, it is a tree and it is Tuesday, n'est pas? Maybe it is the warmth emerging from my heart on this beautiful day. I want to post something that brings that feeling to people. It seems most can produce that feeling at will during the Season of Joy. So, yes. Take a tree. Now give me some peace on earth, goodwill towards man. We are in dire need of it!

20190901_124217a tree.jpg

I went to my garden shop and there was a tree, painted up pretty just for me. Did they know it was Tuesday and all about trees? Have I gone in there so much that they know these details of my life? Or is it just a crazy coincidence?

Tree in Florida.jpg

You get a bonus tree today, straight from Cape Canaveral. The store is a popular surf shop along the beach called Ron Jon's Surf Shop. I can remember it was a tiny little shop until one day, it exploded onto the scene in a major sort of way. Now, it is literally like a village, but, still, how about those trees? High up in the sky? I was down there for a launch of a Falcon 9 B5 Rocket. Then Ron Jons. Followed by a visit to the Pig and Whistle. Yum! A girl has got to eat! I want to thank @old-guy-photos for hosting the #TreeTuesday tag. Get those trees lined up for next Tuesday! And just like that, this post is over! Come back tomorrow and I'll do it again! Because I forgot, let me toss in a flower. Always. To color my world. #alwaysaflower

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

@dswigle I so love the Christmas Tree my dear friend. Honestly, I am also putting up my Christmas tree earlier at home. Before, it was my dearest sister Erika who did it fixed for us. We usually put it every first week of September. Even if I am still mourning, I am standing up to fix our Christmas tree at home for her. In memory of her, I am doing what we used to do when she was still with us, thinking that she would always be there for us guarding like a guardian angel although she may be invisible to our sight. I am truly amazed of your Christmas Tree. It is really so beautiful and wonderful. Have a great day my friend.

What a sweet sister she was. ❤️ Your heart will mourn, let it go, and give it the time it needs. I cannot imagine it, not at this moment. I know she is still standing over you and will be for the rest of your life. I just passed her picture earlier tonight and again thought what a tragedy to lose someone so beautiful, so young.

My thoughts and prayers go with you.

I am truly grateful of your most comforting words my dear friend. That was really so tragic, sudden, and perhaps very painful and unbearable but I know everything happens for a reason. Thank you so much for the enlightenment today. Have a nice time.

Well I do love a Norfolk Island Pine. A tree that is small enough to be kept near me, like right in my house, in my room. How cool is that?!?

Then as a child I loved to plant Mimosa Sensitive plants. They are mini tree like, so maybe they count!

I am a big fan of palms. They can take a beating and still abide. Nothing speaks tropical like a nice palm.

Then my daughter bought me a banana tree. It has doubled in size in a year. Since it was a gift from her, it is my fave!

Happy #TReeTuesday @old-guy-photos!

I love Norfolk Pines too! They can be planted outside too, you know. Maybe not in Michigan, but, I planted one at the shore. It is doing fine! I love mimosa trees! (Is that what you meant?) They count!

A palm is the epitome of a tropical, much like a banana tree. I thought after they produce a fruit they die. Am I wrong? I read that a long time ago, so I could be totally wrong. Of course, Ashton is your fave. I am telling Ben.😁

Thanks so much for hosting the challenge! It is always a fun one!

Oh, yes! We used to call them the Touch-Me-Not-Plant for that reason. It had that rapid response mechanism built in.

Pretty cool plant!

I feel like black and white photography is unusual for you. I was surprised to see your name next to the cover picture when I was scrolling through my feed.

It sounds like you need an umbrella and some rain boots.😉.

You can try making a teru teru bozu, a Japanese thing to keep the rain at bay.

You are so right and it shows! :) I love black and white, but, do not have the ability to choose well in most cases what works and what doesn't.

A pair of rain boots and an umbrella would make a lot of sense. Checking the weather too. :)

Haha! Yes! Tera Tera Bozu! Why didn't I think of that? Those little sunshine dolls! Don't they look like little ghosts? I heard if you hang them upside down you want rain. Is that true?

Thanks, @boxcarblue !! 😁 Hope you have a good night!

Yeah, they do look like little ghosts, and yes, hanging them upside down is supposed to invite rain.

I can’t remember what it was for, but a couple of years ago, my daughter had some outdoor event or plan that she was looking forward to, and she made and hung teru teru bozu up all over the house.

Every day she would check them and panic if one had flipped upside down over night. It was cute.

That is so adorable!! I love when they are so serious about it and I especially like that this is such an important part of the culture. Doing it and passing it on.

That is a big thank you to you.:)

Thanks for sharing it! I love these stories!

The tide may be rough, but the reward is the beautiful shells that are drug along with it, leaving gifts on the shore for me to find.

Isn't it a lesson for our lives in general. Even if the circumstances are harsh, they leave us something worthwhile. It's upto us if we dare to collect it or just pass by indulged in the memories of harshness

Time shifted and the light wove its way into my day, giving a bit of life to it.

Bright days always feel lively, don't they?

So I took the exit and used surface streets which brought me along the Atlantic Coastline

That seems like a wise decision. Hehe. You not only got a crowd free route but also the trees beside

. I wonder if someone is trying to tell me something.

Did you figure out what that someone is trying to tell? 🙄😂

I do so love the evergreen, promising them a show of confidence

This colour has quite a calming effect on the soul

. I still love the nekkid trees in the winter, exposing their branches, and framing their beauty.

I also do. Beauty of naked trees is mysterious. It feels like they are keeping secrets in them wanting to reveal something hidden. Looking at a naked tree makes me feel it has a lot of wisdom with it that it wants me to hear. I am not sure why it gives me this feeling but it does.

Or is it just a crazy coincidence?

I don't think it is just a coincidence. You know @dswigle, ma'am I often think that things are always around us. It is just a matter of attention that we figure them out only when we are in search of it.

It was a wonderful read. Have a blessed day ♥️♥️

Thank you for your thoughts!

Did I figure out what that someone was trying to tell me? 😄 Don't run in the rain, maybe? Wear boots? Check the WEATHER!

I agree with the color of evergreens and especially the naked trees. Nature's lessons are free to those that listen. The key to life too. Thank you for dropping by and leaving your words! xo

Have a blessed evening! 💚

Isn't it true, though? Learning to appreciate what you have is key also. I like nice things, but, I don't covet them. I use what I have. Sometimes, it even has interesting consequences.

Trees perched close to a windy stretch always have an unusual look. :)

I hope your day was a nice one, as you head off into your evening.

A Christmas tree, and that last picture, are you trying to make an ass of me Denise!
You know you are forgiven.
I have a lot of filipino friends and could not get over the fact that they start to celebrate Christmas in September, the BER months as they call them, Sept,Oct,Nov and Dec. However, a tree is a tree and they are all awesome and deserve to posted every single day, no permission required ever;)

I always found it interesting that the culture in the Philippines includes the beginning of their Season of Joy. I could get on top of that one! Yes! The ER months! Most people think I over celebrate Christmas anyway.

Is that even possible?

I really don't think that is possible. I could celebrate it literally all year long. Christmas is a happy place for people and I do love happiness. 💚

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words, Ed! :) @tengolotodo

What an awesome concept and resultant post!

Stoooop. Now more to add to write with never enough time right now :/ Tree Tuesday, huh?

Some corkers here! The first one especially. And I want to shop at your shop ❤️

I walk as well... moving meditation. A "wind shower" when the breeze is fresh. It wipes almost everything away and cleans my soul.

But dancing... ah...

I had a tiny liddle dance two days ago for the first time since this stupid tick thing. It appears I am actually getting well.

So brace yourself 😁

Lovely, uplifting post 👏

I've always been partial to birch trees, but they are so fragile and never usually get to grow very big. It's pretty rare that I ever see a palm tree except on TV! :) I don't usually run, so I can't even imagine what running in the rain would be like.

I Love birch trees and I had lots of them on my property in Michigan. I see them here, but, I don't have any on either one of my houses here.

Palm is the epitome of vacation. LOL You can actually start seeing them when you hit South Carolina. Running in the rain is kind of cool! :) You should try walking in the rain with the one you love.

It is invigorating. :) Unless it is humid. Then it is just gross.

Good morning to you! Thanks for stopping by!

LOL... hope you are having a happy day.

Right? I do this in honor of all my Filipino friends! Their celebration of Christmas starts on September 1st. It is more of a seasonal thing!

Christmas season happens during “ber” months – months that end in “ber”- therefore, from SeptemBER to DecemBER. Temperatures starts to drop in tropical Philippines during the “ber” months and the cold nights remind people that Christmas is coming.

Makes one almost want to move to the Philippines!

I know!!! Christmas Tree!!! I think I will do one every week. :) It is a lovely day, if you know, Mother Nature would come and take this overcastness away! :)

Good morning from here! It must be an OFF day!!!!

Oh wow ! Never heard of Christmas starting in September although I must admit, I took my tiny vintage aluminum tree out for Christmas in July and although I never decorated it, it's silver sparklyness makes me happy every time I see it, ummm... that's right, it is still out. I keep thinking I will take it apart and put it up for a few months, but that hasn't happened yet.

Maybe we should turn Old Guy's Tree Tuesday into Christmas Tree Tuesday....LOL... ok ok... Maybe just for December (or now)....😄

It IS another Vaca Wednesday, right in the middle of phone-hell week. I'm being paid to do nothing and that's the way I like it.

I am going to post a Christmas Tree on #TreeTuesday every week, that is exactly what I meant. :)

And why not? It makes me happy and really, isn't that all that matters? ❤️

Okay, once in a while, I do try to spread that happy about, but it's all fun and games until Christmas comes... then it is all about me making the world happy!

I hope you are ejoying your day and plan to do something awesome. And yes!!! Just chillin is awesome!

I have done some awesome chillin so far. The most effort in to "need too" I have done was put a wash in, that is now drying. I wanted my new favorite nightgown clean for tonight. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would have turned the washer on today.

I have a thing or two I want to get done before the day ends, but neither of them will take hardly any time at all.

I'm expecting it to be a good day.

Hehe. I hear you. My favorite clothing seems to get the Royal Treatment. :) It has been a semi-quiet day for me, so perhaps I can start framing out a #MarketFriday, something I don't do until Thursday night. Why?? Why do I do that?

I always get mad at myself for not having one in the bank. I realize I would be happy just to have it done before 2 am on Friday morning.

I expect that there should be something yummy for dinner. Something that I don't have to cook. I'm feeling like being lazy.

You know: The usual. 🤣

You always make me smile, Denise... always! This was a beautiful, poetic, introspective piece.

Just me and my thoughts today, figuring out where I can make a difference, in this whole big world. It needn't be big, a lot of smalls count in a big way.

Isn't this the truth ❣️ We start with one and we start with love. And exactly this... lots of small things make a big difference... my thoughts drift to butterflies and flapping wings 💗😉... and you do this so well, touching people in your wake, wherever you go. Just keep being you 😍

I love that tree painting! Stunning simplicity. And a Christmas tree always evokes such wonderful memories from my childhood, growing up, and now as a mom of 2 excitable boys during the festive season... and it's a reminder of the reason that we celebrate too 🙏 So yes, put up the tree if it brings you joy! 🤗

I had no idea that there was such a thing as Tree Tuesday. I'll have to drop in on occasion as I do with Three Tune Tuesday. My favourite trees? hmmm... I love Jacaranda, Oak, Giant Sequoia, Cherry Blossom, Willow... to name a few that come to mind. 💗 !LUV !PIMP
