Walking Through Some Trees on Tuesday

Here it is - the season of change. The beauty of the autumnal extravaganza. Arlington Cemetery is always a beautifully peaceful place to stroll among the mighty oaks, their canopy just starting to think about this change that is coming soon. It hasn't yes, but, this vision will be coming our way soon, soon, soon.

I never want to waste a moment of the season, so short and sweet they are. I inhale it in one smell, the near ripeness of the pine, pushing out pinecones for the next generation to come. Exposed and unadorned, nature reveals her beauty.

The light streams down, filtered by the branches, making play of the light and the shadows.

Royal Naval Dockyard, on the west end of Bermuda.

Bermuda Clocktower Mall. Located at the Royal Naval Dockyard, it's hard to miss this impressive building with its twin clock towers. The two towers on the two sides of the building are 100-foot high, one having a clock that shows the real-time and the other with a clock that shows the time of the high tide. See here!

To be fair, it is surrounded by beautiful palms... Seriously! Today is #TreeTuesday! Look harder!

Wherever you go, whatever you do, don't forget to see all that Mother Nature offers you. Beauty for nothing and the chicks are free. I heard that somewhere. When they throw in a dude or two, I'll be collecting.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

Yahoo! Trees are a good theme for a day for sure. Making oxygen, providing shelter, inspiring us.

Can it get any better than trees? I'm not sure that I can. I am often inspired by the life of a tree, Simi Valley just part of the landscape, but in reality so much more!

It is always a delight to see you in the tag! Marvelous trees showing the splender to be.

Yet I can't heartily agree with it all. All any guy out there and you will find :the chicks are never free. Whether it be one or three, they are never free lol :) Life is indeed good so far!

you don't agree with it? I cannot believe it! What kind of Dire Straits fan are you? You have always heard that it is money for nothing and the chicks are free, right?, right? And then of course, when we slow down those lyrics come on I have decided that I don't want my MTV. And if you want chicks for free, you're going to have to go virtually.

That's true and I can remember when I today brief stint in Southern California, it was beautiful but there was no Autumn. However Northern California is incredibly beautiful and you are so lucky to have it only a hundred hours away. LOL

Of course, I am kidding but I never realized how big California was until you start driving up at Coast in search the next state. Which seemingly doesn't show up for days. LOL hi, Steve! Ya people don’t get how big this state is. I think most of us don’t get it. I only understand because my Dad loved to go up to the north to go on hiking Trips and stuff. Really some amazing spots there. Thanks again for a being a bright spot for so many of us.

I went straight into autumn :) We had first frost already. Season of warmth and holidays is suspended until Christmas. Life goes on, day by day.

I am in a holding pattern on the move. The move was more about the job than anything else and I am not going anywhere yet! I had to let that beauty go as I wasn't certain I would be going there!

Ahh, I hope we get some of those sights, as well! It seems like with the heat lasting so long everything here is just going straight to brown. I have hope for at least a quick transition to those beautiful, vibrant colors, though! I do have fond memories of jumping in a big pile of brown leaves after raking the yard as a kid. That smell! The epitome of the season!

Well, yesterday was hot and today is in the 70's! So perhaps we will be seeing some Autumn after all! Maybe. You know how this time of year is dicey with the weather. One day hot, the next cold. :)

I soooo remember the piles of leaves that we jumped in, it was always such a fun time after we raked them all up. Oh, yes! The smell of leaves and fall wafting through the air! Oh, yes!!
