First of all I would like to thank @Gonzo for pushing me to participate in this challenge as well as @Elmerlin for being so generous with these fun expressive challenges we can all participate in. And of course @Liketu Liketu.com/ and team, keep up the great work going forward!

Where to start? As I said earlier these are fun expressive challenges we can all participate in and most people usually do have a specific obsession, I racked my brain trying to think of mine as I'm not one to collect or care too much about physical things, I know I also could've wrote about anything digital that I'm passionate about but I would have preferred to have something to worth-while to myself to show off!

I did think long and hard about it, I realised my memories are most probably what I am most passonate about and the physical possessions that go with them I obsess over. Which makes sense, I hold these things dear to my heart. Surprisingly I had a lot of books tied to memories for me, good times in my life where just remembering said moment instantly reminds me of the book I was reading at the time and how I felt during it all and vise versa.

So I figured I'd share some of the books that hold the best memories to me from the stories they tell and the experiences I had during them. Now I probably won't go into any personal details about the memory aspect as its all relationship based whether its family, friends or partners and the memories to go with them special moments!

Treasure Island

It is set in the days of sailing ships and pirates and tells of the adventures of Jim Hawkins and his search for the buried treasure of an evil pirate, Captain Flint! I love pirate books for whatever reason and treasure island is my most precious. I found this version of the book after stumbling upon it in a chairty store and had to buy it instantly. Felt like a steal and a half.

Extremely good read, beautiful story and it even inspired a TV show called "Black Sails" describing what happened to lead up to Treasure Island. Amazing TV series, the book and show tie in-together with my memories and emotions towards these physical paper weights now. I will forever keep them though and display them on my bookshelf where I can delve into past times with just a glance :)

Beautiful artwork within this book version also!

Metro 2033

My favourite genre is definitely post-apocalyptic for whatever reason I love the dark-eerie vibes of surviving in a post apocalypse world and how our main characters go about living in this new world. Metros plot is based around a near-distant future Moscow after a nuclear war killed billions of people around the world, forcing survivors into the metro tunnels below ground to escape the radiation. our story follows Artyom the orphan, he traverses the dangers of his apocalyptic world to save it from a new threat from the north. I won't go into many more details but it truly is a fantastic read, highly recommended to everybody!

The books are a trilogy series now and I own them all, the Metro series will forever be my favourite book-series.

The Man Who Turned Into Himself

Not too sure how to describe this one without giving away most of the plot! very interesting book I thought, perhaps not everyones cup of tea but at the time I found this book, read it and enjoyed it. Experiences & memoires I now assosiate with the month/year I read whatever book in lead me to always enjoy the story it told. It quite delves into the worlds of quantumn physics and time travel.

Heres a synopis as I couldn't do it justice describing the plot myself.

Rick Hamilton has the perfect life; a great career, a wonderful son and a beautiful wife. Until one day, everything changes. Something - a premonition? A terrifying fantasy? - happens to Rick. Who is the man in the horrifying fatal car crash? Why is his wife crying at the scene? Who is the man she is calling Richard? And why does she deny they have a son? Rick Hamilton has become trapped in a terrible, strange new life, in which nothing will ever quite make sense .

Johannes Cabal The Necromancer

Johannes Cabal is a necromancer who has sold his soul to Satan in order to gain his abilities. His goal has always been to completely restore the dead to their previous living state, but Cabal has now found that his lack of a soul is standing in the way of his research. Bored with running Hell and dealing with bureaucracy, Satan offers Cabal a deal: if Cabal can get 100 souls, Satan will return his. However, this deal is not without its difficulties: Cabal only has one year to gather these souls, and he must run a carnival during this time as well.

This story I found very interesting, set in a steam-punk kind of world, we see Johannas strive to make as many people sign their souls away as possible, running a Carnival and traveling all over, encountering many a people and the stories they tell. Quite a heart touching story, with an amazing plot and great writing. It is also a trilogy and I spent a while reading it, vividly remember all the memoires around the month+ it took me to read them. Great times :)

The Road

Another post-apocalyptic world this time our story follows a father and son over a period of several months across a landscape blasted by an unspecified cataclysm that has destroyed industrial civilization and almost all life. it is ultimately about a father sacrificing everything for his son, keeping on and surviving despite a nightmare that is life now and only for his son's sake.

Quite another beautiful heart touching story, this one was developed into a movie to boot, of course the movie doesn't do any of the book justice but enjoyable none the less.

That is all I have to share guys :) I know this post wasn't the most detailed, or open-ended perhaps but I do truly hold these items dear to my heart. And I am not the best when it comes to writing, or sharing perhaps! But I hope some can relate to what I expressed and my own memories locked inside that I assosiate with these possessions.

Thank you!

Want to participate in this challenge yourself? You can read all about it Here and goodluck!

What I like about this collection of books (which is the second entry consisting of books) is that they're all novels!

I was beginning to think that the only kinds of books people are interested in reading nowdays are self-help ones, or "How to get a leg up in..", "How to make a lot of money", "How to be successful with relationships".. etc.

And what a way to start it off with an all time classic in Treasure Island..

My personal favourite though, is the man who turned into himself.

As a Sci-fi fan, and coming from a family of physicists, I will never get disinterested in anything to do with Time travel or Quantum physics.

Thanks for the entry and winners announced soon!
