Sunsets in Goa are a beautiful picture for the eyes and good entertainment for the soul! The Internet in Varka sucks. Beach sheks offer free Wi-Fi, but the signal is weak. The waiters simply place one smartphone as a mobile hotspot for Internet distribution. Accordingly, you can’t watch films in HD quality here, even social networks can barely move. When there are a lot of people, you may not be able to connect at all. So stop plugging into smartphones! Forward! Enjoy the beauty of nature!
You should not think that India is some kind of backward banana country with skinny hungry vegans who have never seen meat in their lives (and beef is generally haram!). Vegans, of course, sit and meditate neck-deep in mountains of garbage, because India is a lot, a lot of garbage. By the way, there was beef on the menu of the Varka beach cafes, a Portuguese heritage after all. It was only at the end of 1961 that Goa put an end to its colonial past, and Portugal recognized Goa as part of India only in 1974.
India has a powerful metallurgical and energy industry, strong pharmaceuticals, strong agriculture and the auto industry. In Goa, of course, for the most part only tourism and agriculture are developed. But here it is clean and environmentally friendly! There is no more garbage in Goa than in our cities. The plastic world has won, and therefore today there is a lot of plastic waste everywhere. There is a lot to learn from a country with a unique history and ancient traditions; it is not just a country where yogis sit on the beach in meditation and do nothing. It’s not that easy to feed 1.4 billion people, meditation won’t help!
India is a very interesting country with beautiful nature and a set of bright contrasts from a fusion of different cultures. By the way, India ranks 3rd in the world in electricity production. China and the USA are in 1st and 2nd places, and Russia is in 4th place. Several times in the evenings there were power outages in Varka; it happened that it disappeared until the morning (rarely, only 2-3 times in 3 weeks). It is clear that it is best to sleep at night, but electricity would not harm a ceiling fan or air conditioner; in March-April, during blackouts, it can already be stuffy.
Fishing boats are visible on the horizon. Each cafe on the beach offers fish and seafood dishes on its menu. The main part is caught right there in the Arabian Sea. To be honest, in Vietnam in terms of seafood it was much more interesting, in Goa these things are so-so. This is for my picky fishy taste, I'm used to good fish. All these local barracudas are a complete mess!
Every evening we came to dinner on the beach to the accompaniment of the setting Sun. Of course, there are cafes here not only on the seashore, but if in Mandrem it made sense to go to such establishments because of their menu (Thai cuisine) or because of low prices (prices were higher on the shore) and high quality in the best cafe in Mandrem Junas 9, then there was no such meaning here at all. There was only a choice between a cafe on the beach. Depending on laziness (because you have to stomp your feet), you could visit 7-10 cafes to choose from. They are all about the same level.

Strandbars bieten kostenloses WLAN an, aber das Signal ist schwach. Die Kellner stellen einfach ein Smartphone als mobilen Hotspot für die Internetverteilung bereit. Filme in HD-Qualität kann man hier dementsprechend nicht anschauen, auch soziale Netzwerke können sich kaum bewegen. Wenn viele Leute da sind, kann es sein, dass Sie überhaupt keine Verbindung herstellen können. Hören Sie also auf, Smartphones anzuschließen! Nach vorne! Genießen Sie die Schönheit der Natur!
Sie sollten nicht denken, dass Indien eine Art rückständiges Bananenland mit mageren, hungrigen Veganern ist, die noch nie in ihrem Leben Fleisch gesehen haben (und Rindfleisch ist im Allgemeinen haram!). Veganer sitzen natürlich bis zum Hals in Müllbergen und meditieren, denn Indien ist sehr, sehr viel Müll. Auf der Speisekarte der Varka-Strandcafés stand übrigens Rindfleisch, schließlich ein portugiesisches Erbe. Erst Ende 1961 beendete Goa seine koloniale Vergangenheit und Portugal erkannte Goa erst 1974 als Teil Indiens an.
Indien verfügt über eine starke Metallurgie- und Energieindustrie, starke Pharmazeutika, eine starke Landwirtschaft und die Automobilindustrie. In Goa werden natürlich größtenteils nur Tourismus und Landwirtschaft entwickelt. Aber hier ist es sauber und umweltfreundlich! In Goa gibt es nicht mehr Müll als in unseren Städten. Die Plastikwelt hat gewonnen und deshalb gibt es heute überall viel Plastikmüll. Von einem Land mit einer einzigartigen Geschichte und alten Traditionen kann man viel lernen; es ist nicht nur ein Land, in dem Yogis meditierend am Strand sitzen und nichts tun. Es ist nicht so einfach, 1,4 Milliarden Menschen zu ernähren, Meditation hilft nicht!
Indien ist ein sehr interessantes Land mit wunderschöner Natur und einer Reihe heller Kontraste aus der Verschmelzung verschiedener Kulturen. Bei der Stromproduktion liegt Indien übrigens weltweit an dritter Stelle. China und die USA liegen auf den Plätzen 1 und 2, Russland auf Platz 4. Abends kam es in Varka mehrmals zu Stromausfällen, die bis zum Morgen verschwanden (selten, nur 2-3 Mal in 3 Wochen). Es ist klar, dass es am besten ist, nachts zu schlafen, aber Strom würde einem Deckenventilator oder einer Klimaanlage nicht schaden; im März-April, während Stromausfällen, kann es bereits stickig sein.
Am Horizont sind Fischerboote zu sehen. Jedes Café am Strand bietet Fisch- und Meeresfrüchtegerichte auf seiner Speisekarte. Der Großteil wird direkt dort im Arabischen Meer gefangen. Ehrlich gesagt war es in Vietnam in Bezug auf Meeresfrüchte viel interessanter, in Goa sind diese Dinge mittelmäßig. Das ist für meinen wählerischen Fischgeschmack, ich bin an guten Fisch gewöhnt. Alle diese lokalen Barrakudas sind ein völliges Durcheinander!
Jeden Abend kamen wir zum Abendessen an den Strand, begleitet von der untergehenden Sonne. Natürlich gibt es Cafés hier nicht nur am Meer, aber wenn es in Mandrem sinnvoll wäre, in solche Lokale zu gehen, wegen ihrer Speisekarte (thailändische Küche) oder wegen niedriger Preise (die Preise waren am Ufer höher) und hoher Qualität in das beste Café in Mandrem Junas 9, dann gab es hier überhaupt keine solche Bedeutung. Es gab nur die Wahl zwischen einem Café am Strand. Je nach Faulheit (weil man mit den Füßen stampfen muss) könnte man 7-10 Cafés zur Auswahl besuchen. Sie sind alle ungefähr auf dem gleichen Niveau.
