Abundance.tribe's Biweekly Question Of The Week: Cycles That Are Coming To An End And What I Have Learned From It

As I advance in age, I started to understand what truly matters. Time seems to reveal to us worthy things, no wonder an African adage says "What an elder sees while sitting down, a child standing on his feet can't see". I'm 28, age betwixt been a youth and old man that's on a lighter note but it means I'm old enough to have learned a lot from the vicissitudes of life. I have completed my tertiary institution and currently serving my country as a corp member, this is a one-year service made compulsory to all students in Nigeria between the age bracket 18-30.

I imagine the entire cycle of a man's life is as follows:

childhood
-where one learns to sit, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and enroll in basic education, this ranges from age day one-13 years.
Adolescent age
- at this age, a child has advanced in his education, is full of life, and has this exuberance in life to experience everything. This phase is between the ages of 14-20. Then the
Youthful Age
- A time in one's life where is he strong, has dreams and is driven to accomplish so many things yet struggling with the comfort zone. Then the
Adult age
when one begins to recall the actions he had taken while in adolescent and youthful age and seek to make amend, tries to put family first and probably have a fulfilled life or regrets for his actions or inactions.

Presently, I'm in that youthful cycle with so many dreams, and full of energy to accomplish so many things but yet have this comfort zone that seems to be a bone in the neck. I know in a few years I will start to consider family and probably look back to what I have done at this age and that's why I have been careful with my actions, inactions, and decisions. I have failed, I have succeeded, I have giveñ myself to learning and to acquire knowledge, I have taken the wrong steps, and have listened to counsel. All these had helped me learned a lot from this cycle.

I have learned the future is a product of what we are today, what we don't start working on now, may become difficult or impossible to accomplish in the future. Life is full of troubles, however, it's our duty to make ourselves happy. As a youth, we ought to bring ourselves closer to what gives us peace, and deny ourselves nothing but be mindful of all that we do. Also, I have learned to stay off things and habit that I do not want it to be a part of me in the future.
