The Blue pills
This week's Contest came with a bit of Challenge to choose between two pills. The red pill gives one a chance of an everlasting life, while the blue pill allows you to bring back to life a loved one whom you probably miss for a reason. The truth is, immortality seems like a good idea but everything on earth has its consequences. The question I asked myself was "why do I want to live forever?How depressing is loneliness? If everything on earth is vanity, why do I want to stick to them for so long?" . The wisest man believed to have lived once said ;
It's better for the dead than the living, and much better for those who were never born.
Considering this statement, I go for the blue pills-Bringing back to life a loved one.
31 years ago, I lost a sister, an elder sister. I did not grow up to meet her and didn't know what she looks like. We have no memories together. However, sometimes I wish I had a sister, someone I can talk to when I'm down and probably gives me advice on certain matters. There are a lot of things I feel are missing and broken because of her absence, bringing her back could fix it. My dad became frustrated after he couldn't conceive a female child again and left the marriage for another and they both went their separate ways to have other families. Ever since, nothing has been the same, it has one struggle or another.

I feel bringing her back could fix it, even if not all that's broken, my dad would come back to us because he still hasn't succeeded in his fruitless search for a female child. I sometimes feel the absence of a motherly figure in my life. I know if my late sister was to be alive, I would have Someone to feel that gap. What matters most in life is one's happiness and it doesn't matter how long one lives as long as he was happy in the few days he lived here on earth.
It's worthless to live forever and live in misery, pain, and sadness. It's better to enjoy the few years of your life with people you love, with smiles, joy, and memories. My elder brother once told me, "as long as one is alive, he'll always encounter problems on a daily basis" so why live forever soaked in depression, pain, and hurt watching the new generations repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
Sometimes, life is not all that meaningless just because you get to live it forever. The world is so large that it'll take millions of years to fully explore it. So is the universe. Hope you find the peace you seek. Thanks for posting in the HiveNaija community
