The More You Know, The More Sorrowful You Become

avatar

Knowledge comes with sorrow, not the grief that makes you weep all through the night and wet your pillow, but the pain in discerning the truth. The more you learn, is the more you know and the more sorrowful you become, you might end up seeing the vanity of that which you've cherished the most. We might be more at peace when there's little that we know, no one haunts you, no thoughts distress you, you only see the bright color that has been painted before you. However, these changes when you explore to gain knowledge, you become bitter of the skeletons you've discovered in the cupboard, and the world turns against you.

I have heard of prominent men whom career was brought down as they began to seek for answers over certain matters that were ambiguous to them, others quit their position because the truth was to heavy for them to bear, and those who couldn't leave remained in regret. What we see may not be all that there is, what we have been told might not be the truth, and what we've been made to believe might just be a deception from some factions, but it only brings you misery as you learn of it.

Imagine the pain of a graduate who had to manage to sponsor himself through school realizing at last that education doesn't guarantee his success contrary to the picture that was painted to him before he took on the chance to go through school. Imagine a man who had worked as a slave his entire life to realize his father sold him out, reckon a child after becoming successful realizing that people he speculated to be his biological parents aren't truly his but was adducted or the awareness that your father who you cherished never loved you. The more you know a certain thing is the more sorrowful you become.

The people who live an unsophisticated lifestyle with no newspaper to read daily are likely to live free of tension and worries. Each day people are troubled by information and secrets that keep unveiling. The number one factor that had led to a high rate of blood pressure and it underlined death is targeted to the news that we hear or the knowledge of a thing that was learned. No wonder, certain news is hidden from people to avoid the result that makes comes from learning about it.

Wisdom is good, to seek knowledge is a beautiful thing, but also be prepared to handle a certain truth. The wisest man that ever liveth said, "The more I know, the more sorrowful I became".

What we see may not be all that there is,...

I must say these are wise words that speaks to me. I like to know things and the more I know changed my perspective.

I found a quote earlier today that's says -
To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day. — Lao Tzu

Wisdom is knowing when to put the knowledge into action. What an inspiring post.

I'll submit this post for curation at @dreemport for some inspiring comments! Well done. 😊

A truthful quote there, As you know, you get to realize not all you knew was exactly as you were told or learned.

Thanks always for checking up.

The more you know, the sorrowful you become. You couldn't have said it better. Knowledge brings power. Understanding is a double edged sword that pierces even through the hardest of hearts. Thank you for posting this.

You are right. When we are trying to get the truth about something, we find out that there's more to what we only thought it to be and by then, the truth keeps revealing on and on and you had wondered "where is this taking me to?" The more we find out about a fact, the more we are sorrowful for digging too deep to what we cannot bear.
@dreemport brought me here.

Hmm this is so inspiring and it got me thinking so hard about knowledge and what it comes with.

We say everyday that we want to grow on knowledge but fail to think also about what follows that knowledge as it grows - sorrow and pains of finding out truths.

You've said this in a more better way, nice one

There are sometimes you'd wish you didn't know somethings because these things might end up bringing pain and sorrow..

There are things better left not knowing about them. Even though seeking wisdom and knowledge is a good thing, one must also be prepared to handle the truth about some things..

Yeah, that's true. Sometimes there are things one shouldn't dig deeper into except if he's ready to handle the truth
