Weekend-Engagement: Homeless In A Strange City

Surviving in a strange land is no easy thing especially when such an individual has no acquaintance, possessions, or anything to fall back on. The nights in the cold, the struggle for daily bread, and the zero-zero-one meal. If I happen to find myself in such a situation, surviving wouldn't be a hard nut to crack as long as I'm not too lazy to work. Yeah, I'm conscious it's a strange city, I will be prepared for what lies ahead knowing fully that starting life in a strange land is not all rosy, there are always thorns and blushes that leave scars to remember.

I'll look around the city for vacancies and apply to start work immediately but if there's no work, then I'll offer myself as a volunteer with the condition of being fed. Let's assume I have work to do, I'll seek a place to sleep, such a place will be a crowded and busy area that's a bit safe and make there a shelter. Asking my employee to provide for me where to sleep on the very first day wouldn't be a nice decision with the current state of insecurity. Instead, I'll look for a safe place where I'll lay my head daily.

Any work I'll find to do will be a job that pays wages. Depending on a monthly salary isn't a nice decision since I have no possession and no food to sustain me daily. I'll continue this lifestyle of doing job that pays wages, sleeping in an open but enclosed place, managing how much I spend in a day and saving a little portion of what I earn For a period of six months or one year until I'm able to pay for a room and it continues gradually until I start to gather possessions.

The first step is always the hardest. At first everything may look impossible and difficult but in the long run, things may start to fall in line. But all it'll take for me to survive in a strange land is working for wages . Just a few people give to beggars, even if they give, they always give something or tangible to sustain such a beggar for long. So working for wages will be my preferred option.
