Archon Petition: Power up the fee overages from withdrawing inefficiently on the @upfundme account

avatar

Did you hear that Archon Proposal System is in live testing? This is a big move for the #archon tribe, which just keeps growing and developing. I am eager to get involved, so I decided to make a proposal.

This proposal is really more of a petition. So we are going to open the Petition System next.

For those of you that are unaware, there is a 1% fee for depositing or withdrawing HIVE/SWAP.HIVE on hive-engine. There are other alternatives, such as @leodex or @hiveswap that only charge a 0.25% fee, thus saving 0.75%.

Let it be known!

If you are withdrawing (or depositing) when these alternative services have balance, you are wasting your money. If you are running a tribe, then you are wasting the tribes money. If you are investing client's funds, you are losing them money!

Which is why I told @taskmanager about it, knowing that the goal was to power up the miner sales. After this mistake, I believe the lesson was learned. Recent miner sales have been put through the proper channels:

image.png

Those 2500 hive withdrawn improperly, wasted just 18.75 hive, not much. But 25,000 is 187.5 hive, which suddenly is quite a bit! We must make these mid-course corrections at all scales, and only use the official deposit/withdraw channels when the other channels dry up.

Petition: @taskmanager to power-up 18.75 hive to the @archon-mining account.

In this case, the amount in which the tribe was lessened by the error is quite quantifiable, and so this petition, as a test of the ever growing ARCHON-governance set of layer-ware, will seek redress in the exact amount.

These petitions cannot be binding on another account; we cannot vote any violence. But it can be a way in which the community can make their will known.

Any ARCHON-member, meaning any account with more than 0.001 Governance Share (as listed in the most recent @archon-mining post), will be able to vote. Any percentage upvote from an ARCHON-member will be counted as a 100% GP vote for this petition. It doesn't take much staked ARCHON to get a small bit of GP and become a member.

image.png

To be a valid petition (or proposal), 100% beneficiary must be set to the @archon-gov account, and this is to avoid vote farming. As the @archon-gov account grows, so does our tribe. Setting a 5% or more beneficiary to @archon-gov on any of your posts will trigger the voting trail, now over 17k HP, as soon as the first ARCHON-member votes for your post in any percentage. So you can see already the automation is put into place for ARCHON to become a strong member oriented, member-organized, and member supporting tribe.

We will work to remember to set 5% beneficiary to @archon-gov on all of our posts.

VOTE ON THIS POST IF YOU ARE IN FAVOR OF SAVING FEES!

Use #ARCHON, and Power up your ARCHON to participate in this wave of revolutionary volunteer and experimental governance.

Great use of the #archon-petition system, thanks to the help of this post, petitions are now tracked automagically and scanned for by the system every 15 minutes. You can get the status of this and any new petitions by typing "!gov get petitions" in our Discord

It's tough to have the 1% fee on Hive Engine. It makes it challenging to do transactions on there when we are looking for options! I will have to try and use the LeoDex, a 0.25% fee is a lot better!

Hopefully now that the dust is settled on the Hive changes, the Hive Engine team can reduce their fee because as you said, it is expensive for the tribes to do this especially the more you are trying to exchange!

Used leodex to obtain funds

Powered up 18.5

Realized I need a nap and powered up one more

Then donated 5 Hive to the governance fund to lead by example

I think having the yes no comment vote works better than just the vote on post mainly due to all the vote trails and such. That being said I do vote yes, and have/will vote the post.

Once your post has been picked up by tracking (an archon user with > 0.001 GP upvotes it) a bot will automatically place a yes and no comment for users to vote on.

this will really come in handy when it is fully up and running.

This requests action on an account other than @archon-gov, therefore can not use a proposal, but rather a petition.

For now, the way we get around vote trails is vote upweight does count towards GP support for petitions (most vote trails trail at reduced weight), so even though trail votes are counted towards the petition, odds are they had very little impact on overall GP support.

Okay, makes sense, I still think it would be a good practice for the petitioner to add in a yes/no comment, comments are rarely trailed.

Of course, we should use the cheaper alternatives when available. But if that rule was not set earlier, why is @taskmanager being held responsible for this "error". It wasn't an error and he didn't personally benefit out of the transactions. So I don't think he should be petitioned to power up 18.75 HIVE. But yes, in future withdrawals should be routed through cheaper alternatives whenever available. Even if balance is low, a reasonable waiting period should be considered to avail cheaper transactions, imho.

P.S.:
I see @taskmanager has already entertained this request and powered up the difference amount. So I ain't participating in voting here.
