dCity Presidential Address on the Eve of a Third Term

Fellow citizens, I am here with you. I know times are tough. There is a bear market, and the whole world is thinking about war. Sure crypto seems poised to continue to penetrate and innovate, but will it be enough to respond to what is at our doorstep?

I don't know. What I do know is that responsible coherent management combined with continuous development can lead to a successful project. Further, I continue to see an opportunity in this space for us, dCity users and players themselves, to market dCity without fear to their friends as an inexpensive and fun citizen mining game to learn about markets.

Citizen Mining is the thing that we are doing

Right now we have out of control inflation due to our last president, the total SIM power is still increasing to this day by and incredibly large amount of 1.2 million SIM per day. This is net of any experimentation and new cards purchased (and let me tell you 30 days ago I was doing A LOT of experimenting). The last days of the previous administrations printing is just about to drop off the 30-day cliff, and so we will see over the next period hopefully some adjustment into a deflationary environment.

This might sound scary to players who are accustomed to thinking that SIM income is the main point of the game. But now we can point to citizen mining (with popularity) as a viable way to enter dCity. And we really want new players coming in.

In order to continue to reduce the sheer numbers of SIM being printed a day, I have recently lowered the tax rebates on Sick Citizens down to 2. I am sure we all agree that even Sick Citizens can do their part to fight inflation. The tax rate is now over 100%, even though I actually didn't pull that lever.... 👀

That's right, the steep drop in SIM price did it. dCity players might remember that we had Net Free of Taxes around 3%, and I was slowly lowering it until it was within 1%. We stopped here for several days. Then the price dumped, Income Tax pushed it over, and here we are, at no income, 311k tax rebates and ~360k war pool, for a total of 671k new SIM each day. This is pretty restrictive, and equal to about 839 cards per day that need to be printed to balance it out (or 2200 citizens experimented on 😲)

You'll remember from this previous post, I think now is the time to squeeze. To create a deflationary incident like those that have happened twice in dCity's past.

And we are still trending up, although of course SIM power is a lagging indicator.

This is a perfect time to enact this agenda especially because we have citizen mining, and popularity is still quite available in edition 3 (Fire Department Card woop woop) and we can still build and print cities to get great APRs mining citizens for experimentation. Let's keep onboarding more Splinterland players to enjoy this bear playing with us!

I hope to activate the player base in this way, asking you all to PLEASE DO GRASSROOTS MARKETING, even mini-scale.

Another good reason to squeeze now is because @gerber and @scriptioner have been working really hard on lots of cool updates. As they slowly but surely roll them out into dCity, this continues to improve the game's viability for attracting new players, and many of them help to lock up SIM.

I need you guys to trust Eco a little longer. We are going to get through this and maybe even have a chance to make dCity great again. I appreciate all the support that I have gotten, and for me it is a mandate, even the votes from the smaller players. Let's show the few people that can stop us that this is something that we really want to do.

I make posts, I help new players, I tweet. I love when you guys do that stuff too. Let's take dCity to the moon!

Other notes

@armero obviously will not be raking in quite as much SIM right now with the Sick Citizen rebate lowered to 2, but it did achieve it's second dividend payment recently, I probably will not write another post about ARMERO for a while but know that it is working in the background. Its SIM Power continues to Grow.

Send Sick Citizen cards to @armero to get ARMERO tokens.

LABFUND will have a new update posted soon, we have already burned 2044/10,000 tokens in our experimental buyback. Send LABFUND to @superlab with verbose memo to buy Super Soldiers and other Super Citizens (stat analysis here):

dCity thanks you, Eco thanks you - the world of decentralized and gamifyed finance thanks you, dear player. Let us continue to enjoy and invite - dCity is a great bear market game and I am working on a 'new' tutorial for players to get started with, look out for that.

And in the background, rest assured that we are going to get this SIM issue under control with fiscal discipline - its the only way!

Freedom and Friendship

I was wondering why the tax rate went up so much but I guess it is linked to the price of SIM. I really do plan on making a new account and moving my cards over there. I have claimed a few account creation tokens and I should use one later when I have free time.

I made the account but I have to head out soon. I'll see if I can move over all my cards and even my LP position later tonight when I get back.
