Moving Out! Days 3 and 4 in Florida

Well its been quite a hustle the last few days.

Its was hard work, and we didn't even have to do some of the hardest parts!

That's because grandma hired a mving company (thanks @snook!) and they we under contract to do this, and they sent people with lots of experience.

First they sent the packers. No not the green bay packers, but check out the pictures and you'll get the idea.

There was a lot to pack, but they had tons of boxes and packing paper and tape and everything.

I was in charge of telling them what not to pack, which wasn't much but still, some how my half a box of cinnamon toast crunch got packed and although we did rescue it, these guys mean business - when they say we pack everything they really mean it.

I had to sign a bunch of papers, in the end it was 'just' 61 boxes of stuff. And to imagine that grandma has been downsizing for years!

So I suddenly had a great idea, a win-win situation. I was sitting on a problem, a bunch of half full bottles of booze that would have been illegal to drive up, and the movers also do not take any liquids.

How about that for a tip?

So then the next day, the movers show up. They will load the boxes, but also all the furniture. And not just load, but wrap it all in blankets!

And there was definitely a lot of furniture, plus those 61 boxes....

They worked hard for about four hours, they were quick and efficient, and got the job done.

And soon, it was time for the paperwork again!

IMG_20230908_124836.jpg

Good bye boxes, we will see you up in Wisconsin!

IMG_20230908_130803.jpg

Then we were just left with a mostly empty house....

The packing process looked like a well-oiled machine, and those movers sure meant business. It's impressive how organized everything was, even down to saving the half-full bottles of booze. Hope having grandma company doesn't translate to more work for you.

Such a person becomes very busy when it comes to packing and shipping things the way we see you all working so hard.

You will always get a better quality of work done when you pay by the job, and not by the hour. Glad to see everything went smoothly.

Apparently all the hotels where we are are full because of displaced people from the hurricane! Back on the highway to get a bit further north
