On the road to tabletop gaming

As I mentioned in the previous post, I am taking a few days off and flying a quarter way around the world to roll some dice with a few dudes I haven't seen this decade yet.

I'm not sure why they invited me, but I said yes pretty quick.

I began my journey last night, driving into town down slippery roads.

From there I finalized my packing configuration, got a bottle of water and 2.2 pounds of cheese, and booked a 4am bus ticket.

And I was there before 4am this morning, I walked to the park after a shower and a coffee, I woke up way before my alarm.

We hit the road just a few minutes after 4, and I did my best to pretend to sleep in the single seat next to the door, as we picked up passengers all the way down the mountain and onto the Tolima Plains.

We crossed the Magdelena River and were climbing the eastern mountain range before dawn even broke.

I woke up again in a small town that I think was Viani, wandered around outside the bus for a few minutes but didn't buy anything, neither coffee or tamal. The hardest part was yet to come, mounting the alto de tribuna and crossing the alti-plano to get into Bogotá.

There was a bit of traffic, but eventually we made it through, and by 9:30am I was peeing in the Bogotá bus terminal.

I grabbed a taxi to the airport, and proceeded to check in. Had a nice adventure with some very nice agents, who assured me that I had done nothing wrong, but that everything was messed up. The courageously worked hard and eventually got the problem I never quite understood, fixed.

Now I was ready for a coffee, and I finished off my water bottle. I took some deep breaths, the point of no return had arrived.

Through the scanner, migration, security check. Just 22-25 hours to go.

Back at home, I was a bit worried. Its going to be winter where I am going, and I haven't felt a real winter in a long time. I don't really have the right clothes. But I did remember one thing, still in the box - I pulled out my limited edition Dulce & Gabbana hoodie.

Earned for being the top dCity player in the world (not exactly but close enough), let's see if it keeps me warm as well as the cheap stuff.

Freedom and Friendship

I just paid 32 cents usd to use the bathroom at the bus terminal in Bogotá.

After 5 hours on a bus, it was totally worth it.

Hahaha, this made me laugh out all the air in my lungs ,haha
Have a safe travel.
