Tourism in Colombia continues to make headway!

The good news is that our Volcano alert has been lowered. But we weren't asleep this whole time, today we recieved a couple from Pereira on our farm and made yet another academic connection -

Yesterday the tourism representative from the mayor's office gave my wife a call - there's a guy here asking about birding and we don't know who to call besides @ecoinstante - we sat down for a cuppa and started to have an amazing chat.

Today we brought them up to Buena Vista to continue the conversation. And some family members arrived for the experience as well - its officially summer vacation!

These connections are important and essential, as is sharing the knowledge we have gained over the years with others prepared to capture and utilize it to make the world a better place.

I have said it before, but we are at a critical inflection point for humanity, and its what we do that matters most - action - not passive hope that some government official or even God himself will solve all our problems.

On our rural road we had the public water company fix a pipe where they serve three inches of water to a rural community much further down the mountain - it had begun to leak over a weak ago and was damaging our work on the path. They finally arrived to fix the pipe, but don't seem to have finished the job.

Now I have to officially request them to finish the job and talk with the current general manager of the public utility (a political position). Luckily we know the guy as the dad of a good friend, we have visited their farm several times in Murillo and I think my chances are good.

We continue to work hard on several fronts of sustainable development, recently we finished an important community meeting for our rural JAC process. We are almost to the finish line after close to two years of work, but something tells me it will all be worth it in the end.

Its never boring around here, there is always plenty to do and many projects to work on. The goal is stronger, healthier and more prosperous communities and potentials.

And we are making great progress.
