Will HIVE ever come back down?

avatar

Now that we have been tracking the HIVE price, I think you have probably noticed recently that it has been moving in a wonderful upwards fashion. Against all BTC gravity, HIVE is pumping and consolidating higher and higher. Could it be the double (double) airdrops coming up?

Or could it be HIVE Punks NFTs? Or Splinterlands again? Or podping V4V? Or or or - whatever the reason, HIVE is riding high into this next phase of the crypto cycle, and killing it while BTC moves sideways.

On coingecko we are now ranked 183rd, this is a strong move up as our 'sister chain steem' is stuck at 60 cents and can't do anything except pump its own non-stable SBD coin, which is still above 7 dollars each. Sell 'em if you got 'em.

But what should we do with HIVE? Are we going to sell everything we have, hoping to buy a lower dip? What if it doesn't go back down for a while?

I have been building on HIVE for a while now, and I always have supported taking profits in HIVE, because I considered HIVE to be quite undervalued for all the development that is going on here.

Almost 2 years ago, when STEEM was at 10c, I considered trying to take out 10,000 dollars in a loan and get 100,000 STEEM. Considering I swapped most of my STEEM to HIVE above par, its likely that move would have resulted in more than 200,000 HIVE right now, currently worth almost $300,000 USD. A beautiful 30 bagger as I write, I think this play could go much further yet.

I didn't make that move, but I have been buying and building for years, and I still feel quite well positioned for what is currently happening.

But I am not about to fall asleep at the wheel. With 10% apr savings account on HBD, hedging future downside has never been more appealing. It is our responsibility as HIVE community to figure out at what price we should convert our HIVE into HBD, and with that HBD form a strong floor to the price, rebuy the dips on HIVE.

This will support the price, and make active community members some safety net of funds in the mean time.

Go to https://wallet.hive.blog/market to check out the internal market.

Its not a very efficient internal market, and I think I agree with @edicted that this could become a AMM automated market maker pool with 'so-called' continuous liquidity, or if you want to think about it as 'infinite liquidity', that's half right.

But for now, you can list buys and sells here, or use bittrex or binance/ binance clone.

Things are happening, make sure if you have been around for a while you learn how to be responsible with your own wallet, and that means taking profits when it pumps a lot so that we can buy back lower and stabilize the price.

For now, I think we have wind in our sails at least until the snapshot date (January 6th?). But be smart, be ready, and stay agile and responsible with your wallet!

Freedom and Friendship!

I wouldn't mind a AMM for the HIVE/HBD exchange. It would make things easier and people could also keep things closer to the peg because they could always make a little bit of profit off the difference on the spreads too.

Thanks @ecoinstant for the tip about using HBD as a hedge for HIVE. Up until now I've been going the other way to catch the HIVE uptrend, but it's useful to think about switching direction if HIVE seems to have peaked...

I have been selling hive in my second account and covering to hbd and putting it into savings, I will definitely buy back at cheaper price.
