happy saturday.png

Hello Everyone,

Well, I am very late this week! Who knows what has been happening over this weekend, every time I look at the clock it has progressed farther and faster than me. Still, all is well, I am here with Saturday Savers Club, giveaways and contests. Yay!

I also have one of my favourite dinners in the oven, ready for when I have finished the post: rice-stuffed tomatoes with roasted potatoes - lots of produce from the garden - and later I will steam some pak choi to go with it. What's your favourite dinner for this time of year?

ListNerds

SPinvest has decided to cancel its Enterprise subscription to ListNerds - the income ratio isn't what it needs to be for the SPI growth fund. At present, I'm not sure whether SPinvest will continue to post using a free subscription - more news when I have it. I will still be going ahead with the following idea, because ListNerds has lots to offer Saturday Savers:

Now then, would anyone be interested in a @susie-saver School of ListNerds - like School of Rock only without Jack Black? I was thinking maybe a post a week introducing ListNerds, taking it step by step, for maybe six weeks? (I haven't worked it all out yet). There would be giveaways for taking part each week, probably CTP (although I'm open to other suggestions) as that would be the most useful token for new starters on List Nerds.

Let me know what you think in the comments.

EDS Mini Miner (EDSMM)

There's about 9,000 EDSMMs left now, excellent news for regular savers, plenty of time to build your stash. Savers are looking at a current income of 29% APY - how about that? (Remember that income will change over time: @eddie-earner has given some simulations about that so you can plan your future income against your budget).

You can also buy your EDSMMs directly from the @eddie-earner account, saving you the 1% fees to deposit and withdraw from Hive-Engine. We have tried to set up recurring payments but in a test we found the code wasn't able to pick up repeat payments - we'll keep working to find a way round that. Meanwhile, you can still do one-off purchases by transferring HIVE to @eddie-earner.

There are 480 chances to win in the lottery every 24 hours with just 1 HIVE.

Saturday Savers Club is going to be giving away EDSMMs from now until the end of the year. These are sponsored by @shanibeer. Each For your chance to win, take part in each of the contests as they come up in the Saturday Savers Post.

EDSMM Contests

Last week, the challenge was to post a link to your Power Up post or your regular savings report.
Everyone went in the Wheel of Names and we have a winner: @justclickindiva Yay! Check your wallet!

Thank you everyone who took part.

THIS WEEK'S CONTEST

Okay, we're coming to the last third of the year. The contest this week is to put forward any special savings initiatives you would like the Saturday Savers Club to do between now and the winter holidays to give a little lift to your savings activities.

If you have a look at this post, you'll see all the different things we tried last year - are there any that you would like to repeat? Do you have any new ideas? In the northern hemisphere, we're coming up to gift giving time - any thoughts for money savings contests around that?

The small print: What do you think about a savings quiz for the end of the year? Prizes, of course 😉

Saturday Savers Club Discord Chat

Join us for chat about savings and investments: https://discord.gg/RQZubGeeTH

Ground Rules:

  • The SPI family motto is Get Rich Slowly. This covers EDS and EDSM, the home tokens for the Saturday Savers Club, as well as SPI, LBI and CL. The bottom line is that we are looking for well-researched options which bring a steady income. Good options will have an identifiable and easily accessible team (with emphasis on more than one person involved), a clear plan and use case for the token, and transparency and accountability through regular reporting.
  • Individual members are free (of course they are) to publish guides to tokens under their own account - and any number of members can do that.

LARYNX and RAGNAROK - Have You Claimed Your Airdrops?

image.png

Source

The LARYNX airdrop continues for the next four months - remember to claim each month. Check how to do it in this post. Are you holding or selling your LARYNX? Tell us your plans in the comments below. You can do this automatically using Hivesigner.

Check the RAGNAROK Air Drop in this post.

EDS and EDSM Queries

The quickest way to get any queries about payments resolved is to post a message in the #eddie-earner channel of the SPinvest discord: https://discord.gg/RQZubGeeTH and tag @silverstackeruk. Most problems that happen are technical bugs and are quickly resolved once we know about them. Housekeeping for @eddie-earner, EDS, EDSM and EDSMM is usually done on Monday UTC.

365 Day Savings Challenge

It's Week 36 on our savings plan and we've added and powered up 17.01 HIVE to @susie-savers wallet - we're up to 303.81 HIVE already plus curation rewards! 🤑

EDS for Comments

We had comments from sixteen savers! Everyone went into the Wheel of Names and we have two winners: @tokutaro22 and @metzli - hurrah! check your wallets.

Savings Goals

We've added some more savings goals and savings posts to the table. Leave a comment below with a link if you've done a savings post or settled on your savings goals for this year - it can take a while to decide your aims, so take your time and let us know when you're ready 😍

PS check that I have your goals correctly in the table or if I've missed you

Remember for success - Start Small, Start Today

It can be any day, and it can be any day when you've had a break and want to start again.

  • the best way to build wealth is to save small amounts regularly.

If you know anyone else who is interested in saving, please do tell them about the Saturday Savers Club, we love meeting people, sharing ideas and supporting each other. My suggestion would be to do another round of Investing in Passive Income, as that has been one of my main focuses here on Hive for a fair bit of time now; since I fully grasped the potential of it. I've been slowly building my Passive Income Machine for many months now, with my two main methods being to acquire as many of the Income Tokens, Dividend-Paying and Miner Tokens, as I'm able over time, and the second being delegating many Hive-Engine tokens to various token-specific curation accounts (The Cartel Team, The LOLZ Team, @meowcurator, @aliveandthriving), and continually reinvesting by re-delegating all my earnings.

This sounds like a worthwhile topic I would love to explore some more. Great suggestion @tydynrain

Thank you! I'm thankful that you appreciate it. It is a vast, often untapped, potential resource here on Hive. 🙏💚

What does meowcurator do, I have seen other people delegate to them?

If you delegate LEO tokens, you receive LEO in return. You can also opt to use their auto-compounding service, and receive MEOWLEO instead.

Hi @tydynrain, good to see you 😍

What criteria do you use for selecting which income tokens etc to purchase?

The main focus this year has been helping people to grow their Hive account, so semi-passive income, I guess, with inflation and depending how much manual/automated curation you do. Do you have an idea for a contest or challenge that combines your suggestion with people building achieving the HP goals?

What criteria do you use for selecting which income tokens etc to purchase?

Well, the first thing I'd say are ones that have a solid project and team, with ongoing development, and good community support.

For dividend-paying tokens, I focus first on those that pay in a good array of tokens that I can use to reinvest via delegating to the Hive-Engine-token curation accounts, and some tokens that I can sell, to then buy more income tokens. I'm doing this now with the INDEX token.

For miner tokens, I focus first on those that mine tokens that I already use in delegating to the Hive-Engine-token curation accounts, which increases income there more quickly.

Do you have an idea for a contest or challenge that combines your suggestion with people building achieving the HP goals?

Well, I'm basically reinvesting all profit back into re-delegating and buying more income tokens, because I'm still building good passive income system flow. I have not yet converted any of it into HIVE or HBD, but that can be done at any time, which does connect my suggestion with people's HP/HBD goals. My end goal is to eventually be able to convert a good bit of the income into HP and HBD, to fuel long-term steady growth.

Challenge/Contest:

Research the various income tokens (dividend-paying and miner tokens) and Hive-Engine-token curation accounts (the Cartel Team, the LOLZ Team, @meowcurator, @aliveandthriving, etc), then draw up the plans for a reciprocal growth system, where the payouts from two (or more) components in the system can be fed into the other(s), with effect mutual exponential growth. Once you have a good grasp on how it would work, implement it. It doesn't have to be complex, but it does need to be functional. Perhaps give a prediction for when income from the system could potentially be diverted to convert to HIVE or HBD (some tokens pay in Hive too, of course) . The individual with the most efficient and elegant system wins (EDSMM prizes?).

Lovely idea - let me think on it for a few days.
Like your criteria for tokens, too!

I've had a fairly good week. I powered up 25 HIVE for HPUD, and have seen gains picking up in LOLZ and FUN with the new tribe and tags up and running. My full weekly update is here:
https://hive.blog/hive-167922/@hoosie/saturday-savers-club-progress-week-24-03-09-22-hpud-swap-hive-dec-liquidity-pool-and-fun-and-lolz-doing-nicely-due-to-new-fun

On the Listnerds front I've started taking a back seat with it - things seemed to have slowed down, and un-surprisingly its value has dropped, so it does not have the same interest for me. However, when I do make a post, I always seem to get some traffic from it, which is useful.

I like item 6 from last years suggestions, waiting 24 hours before making a big purchase - I can be an impulse buyer and there are a number of times I wish I'd slowed down and waited, and thought about it more ! And also number 12 - never going shopping while hungry/thirsty ! And item 20 - check household bills and shop around is very important these days with rising energy costs - and its probably this one that is the most important for me at the moment - so it gets my vote.

Thanks @hoosie

When I'm online shopping, I often put things in the basket and then leave them there for a few days. If I'm still thinking about them, I'll come back and buy them 😍.

What was your original interest in ListNerds?

I was told Listers would be a good earner and could also help with post traffic.

I did my monthly HBD add during HPUD and I am still on track. However, it does look like I need to save up more HBD for the last 3 monthly adds.

New goals! 😁

We have something similar: macaroni cheese. Small pasta shapes are cooked and then stirred into a cheese sauce and baked in the oven until the top is brown and crispy (extra layer of cheese on top). We have it with tomatoes, maybe bread and butter and, later in life, with fries. One of my favourites, too!

Do you have any savings goals for this year? If not, what would you like to achieve by 31 December 2022? If you look at the chart in the post, you can get lots of ideas about what other members of the Saturday Savers Club are doing.

Maybe you want to increase your Hive Power? or it could be something else.

Let me have your goals to add to the chart.

Then each Saturday, drop a comment to let us know how you are getting on. (I usually post on Saturday, occasionally it is Sunday).

Hello everyone. @shanibeer thanks so much for the prize for posting my HivePud post in the comments. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the LARYNX and RAGNAROK mentions. Will claim today. Been a bit busy both online and off.

Also, congratulations to @tokutaro22 and @metzli for your wins in the Wheel of Names.

Good luck to all Savers Club members who are saving and investing at their own pace each week.

I'm continuing my Saturday Savers Club progress posts each week saving my HBD. My balance is such that I claimed over 5 HBD as my 20% interest from August. I'm going at a slower pace thru the end of the year. Hoping to at least complete a couple of goals.

https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@justclickindiva/week-36--additional-information-on-certain-diesel-pools-or-2022-saturday-savers-club

LISTNERDS. My opinion is that I wouldn't make any long-term plans concerning this CTP venture. I noticed that rewards haven't been paid out for a week now. Last month, I decided that with the many issues not being addressed when raised, straightforward communication to members, and the attempted negative attitude and actions against members who voiced their opinions led me to cancel my ENTERPRISE subscription as of September 1st. The subscription amount didn't justify the rewards, both mentally and financially.

Take care everyone.

Welcome and congratulations @justclickindiva 😍

I marvel at your versatility getting into diesel pools! It's a great way to diversify your portfolio, keep us posted.

I'm sorry you had that experience with ListNerds. I did raise the issue of non-payments over the past week, it seems like it's a bug in the automated software and is being attended to now.
