Walk on the beach (Platja de les Marines) Denia, Spain.

I was looking for a beach to walk the dogs, and most of the beache in our area aren't dog friendly, I notice that people take their dogs anyway, I decided to keep them on the leash, and go for a run in Denia.

It's a 15 minutes drive from the house, I decide to beat the traffic and the tourists (like myself 😌) and get there early, around 7am.

IMG_20220905_080714.jpg

This was the first time ever on the beach for the dogs, as we didn't take them with us when we went to the French beaches.

I can see that my furry friends can smell very unfamiliar trails, and slowly get accustomed to the sea scent.

IMG_20220905_081121.jpg

A really big harbour, with a ferry (which is where I parked for 0,50c), I already spotted the jet skis 😄 for rental. With the mountains over the Harbour, it reminded me a lot of Capetown and Table Mountain.

IMG_20220905_080254.jpg

I am sure I will eventually get used to it, but I can't help but doing "aaaah" and "ooooh" noises, in wonder, I am not really used to palm trees as they don't grow on our farm in France.

We don't have seaguls neither, I am amazed by their size, and how they aren't impressed with my presence.
The bird slowly walk away from my shot, and give me a "are you done?" look.

I love the calm of the early morning. Just a few eventual joggers, retired people, and dog walkers.
I bumped into a model doing her gym routine, lucky for me my dogs are on the leash, I could totally expect a disaster with my dogs running toward the gym-model, stepping on her towel with their dirty paws.

IMG_20220905_075107.jpg

I also realize that my dogs and I, are somewhat feral, in a costal environment. We are so used to live on our own, it's almost a little bit unsettling to see that many people everyday, it's like the mind doesn't compute THIS amount of information.

IMG_20220905_140124.jpg

The harbour of Denia, slowly fills up with life, cars start hooting, boats too, an army of cleaning comes out of a van, and very quickly spread out on the beach.
Google review told me that "The beach is dirty, unbelievable, algae everywhere on the shore".

The city of Denia must have had the memo, because the beach was pristine for me and my dog to enjoy.

Oh, so you are here in my neighborhood! Denia is a beautiful old town and as I can see, you had a nice morning walk with the dogs... Btw. if you go out at 8 AM, it is still early for Spaniards... 😃

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project which will be highlighted in the next post!

I'm not a musician, but if you want to play live music for free, I suppose that many bars will like to hear that... 😃

You are in Spain.
Here along the costas it is not allowed for dogs to go on the beaches. They can fine you. But you are probably early enough.
They did create here and there a beach just for dogs. I don’t know where in your area. Maybe you can find out. (Just a friendly warning 😉)
Here along the Costa del Sol they are very strict with it not sure up your way.

I can imagine it is sooo different than what you are used to. Lots of people and impressions.
Enjoy it!
The beach does look beautiful. A great area to explore.

Yes, I knew it was not allowed, but did it anyway. I wasn't walking my feet in the water, but just let the dogs experience the smell of the sea for a few seconds, then continued on the road.

If you knew the amount of illegal stuffs I do, I think walking with my dogs is the last on my "trouble list" 😄

It's the same in most holidays places 😁, but lucky for me none of the snitches are here at 7am, and many many many other people were doing much worse with their dogs, letting them roam free, whereas mine were on the leash at all time, and we were not walking on the beach anyway, along the beach.

Look at me trying to explain myself hahah...

As many others do hehehe 🤭

No need to explain @edprivat I understand 😉😎
Luckily some areas are different in Spain.
It sounds like it is much freer in the area you are now than down here where I am.

I think you did great walking the dogs with a leash on the beach, let them experience the sea breeze and all that comes with it. Sounds like they enjoyed it. Didn’t they want to go in the water?
How is the temperature there, here it is still crazy hot 33 to 36 degrees Celsius. Looks like summer wants to stay a bit longer ☀️😎

Have fun and enjoy 😊👋🏻

I appreciate you looking out for me though, thanks!

Yeah the temp is exactly around 35, we are lucky to have the pool, and some days we do the beach at the end of the day around 7!

Where are you based?

Anytime…
If you have questions, let me know 🤓
I just moved house the last 2 days… from Marbella area, now closer to Gibraltar for work. We are about 25 minutes towards the right of it. So southern part.
Time to unpack a little. 📦📦

So also still hot.
Good to have a pool… enjoy it. Soon the nights start to cool down.

Dude your back with a vengeance. We hear nothing from you for months and then multiple posts all at once. I love it! Keep em coming.

Yeah I hear you about there being too many people at times in such places. The less people the better haha

Hahaha you're funny. You're right though, I didn't have a pc for almost 2 months so I have to catch up, and I also powered down a lot to finance a few things, so now is the time to grind for a while until I burn out again 😁

Things are a lot more relaxed now that the holiday season is over. I know that down this way, everyone now takes their dogs to the beach. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures Ed xxxxx

It seems like it. There are also some people being anal wearing a mask and all, but I try to ignore them, and they're mainly a minority.

Mainly I see a lot of people not giving a fuck haha.

Hi Ed, you have amazing images, so lovely to look at. Hey, if you go eastwards , try Torrox Costa, they have created Playa Caninas, a beach for dogs, they can run wild, swim in the water . It is very nice there since dogs could play with other dogs. Es sind die richtige Platz für Hunde und ihre Besitzer. Wir sind in Torrox während d. winterzeit und Torrox is bekannt als Little Germany, da viele Deutsche wohnen in d. Gegen. Lg, @mers

Lol so many Germans there?

I didn't know haha. It's a bit far for just a trip with the dogs, but maybe on our way to Orgiva next week!

I've been also looking online, stones and pebbles beaches for the dog, approximately 30 minutes drive.

They also have a dog swimming pool nearby haha.
