Monomad Challenge | The Caracas Subway [ENG/ESP]

Greetings to all lovers of black and white photography. In this opportunity of the #monomad Challenge, I share with You some photos of the main means of transportation in the city of Caracas: the subway, with all its features.

The Caracas Subway is the mass transport most used by the inhabitants of the capital and its visitors. It currently has a route of around 100 kilometers and crosses the city from west to east, including the metropolitan area, made up of the Capital District and the state of Miranda.

To tell you a bit of history, this underground system was inaugurated on January 2, 1983, by the president at that time: Luis Herrera Campíns. Today, the system has 4 active lines and 51 stations, which serve to transport around 2 million people daily.

Every day you can see many people with different characteristics, even with different cultures, since it is common to see foreigners. Many people rush to their jobs and errands, others remain carefree and do not let time dominate them.

There are stations in the Caracas Subway that are busier than others, to a greater extent those stations that serve as transfers between lines or simply because they are on the main roads. Among these stations we find: Plaza Venezuela, Sabana Grande (popular for the boulevard), Capitolio, La Bandera, La Hoyada, Las Adjuntas (serves as a transfer to the Los Teques Subway), among others.
