Hola, amigos de Hive y de la comunidad Movie & TV Shows, es un placer saludarles y regresar con nuevo contenido de lo que nos apasiona. Como buen amante de las series históricas y de las aventuras épicas, toca el turno de hablarles de Vikings, una serie que se convirtió en una de esas producciones que no solo vi, sino que viví cada capítulo como si fuera un protagonista más.
Este material se encuentra disponible en la plataforma de streaming Netflix para muchas regiones. La serie como tal me atrapó desde el primer episodio y me acompañó a lo largo de sus 6 temporadas, aunque obviamente no es perfecta; tiene sus altibajos producto del agotamiento que genera una producción de tal magnitud. Pero no deja de ser una experiencia de esas que se quedan grabadas en la memoria de todos.
Desde el propio inicio de la serie sabía que estaba en presencia de algo digno de ver; fue entonces cuando conocí a Ragnar Lothbrok, un granjero visionario de Kattegat, interpretado magistralmente por Travis Fimmel. Me sentí identificado con el carisma rebelde y la curiosidad insaciable de este personaje, que anhelaba el conocimiento y poder navegar hasta lo desconocido para materializar su sueño de conquistar el oeste.
Porque Ragnar Lothbrok no es solo un guerrero; es también un soñador, un padre, un líder contradictorio capaz de cuestionar a los hombres y a los mismísimos dioses. Seguir toda su evolución desde granjero soñador hasta que se convirtió en toda una leyenda significó un viaje en primera fila por toda esta historia de vikingos y dioses nórdicos. Ya que la serie te invita a reflexionar sobre las fortalezas y debilidades de los seres humanos, como la ambición, lealtad, el destino y la familia.
Visualmente, la serie es impresionante; creo que la producción logró un acabado espectacular que, a mi entender, fue lo más fiel a los paisajes irlandeses. Y uno valora estas cosas, la intensidad con la que interactúan tanto los personajes como la escenografía donde se recrea la historia. Cuenta además con una narrativa exquisita que, si bien logra combinar la cruda acción de las batallas vikingas más brutales, intensas, crudas y bien coreografiadas, con todo el drama de los personajes de la serie.
Mis personajes favoritos de la serie fueron Ragnar, su esposa Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) y su fiel amigo Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård). Floki, a pesar de su locura divina y su lealtad inquebrantable hacia Ragnar, terminó robándole el corazón a todos los que de alguna manera hemos interactuado con la serie; me hizo reír y llorar en muchas ocasiones.
Sin embargo, siempre hay un pero, y siendo honesto con todos ustedes, la serie, a pesar de que promete un contenido fascinante, no mantiene el mismo ritmo en todas las temporadas. Quedándose con los laureles las primeras cuatro temporadas, que a mi criterio fueron prácticamente impecables. Pero a partir de la muerte de Ragnar, la serie pierde su atractivo principal; la narrativa se centra en sus hijos y nuevos territorios por explorar, como el mar Mediterráneo.
A pesar del atractivo de nuevas aventuras de vikingos, sin lugar a dudas la ausencia del carisma de un personaje clave como el de Ragnar se siente prácticamente irreemplazable. Por otro lado, temáticamente hablando, no se puede dejar de mencionar el impacto que deja la serie cuando explora el choque cultural entre paganos y cristianos. En ningún momento demoniza a ninguna cultura en específico; sin embargo, nos muestra las dos caras del fanatismo y la humanidad de los dos bandos.
A modo de conclusión, choco las palmas en agradecimiento para toda la producción de este material cinematográfico, que nos deja una muestra inolvidable de la cultura cristiana y pagana. Con un un elenco actoral excepcional que sabe encarnar con profesionalismo cada personaje, transmitiendo un sin número emociones al espectador. Si te gusta la acción, la aventura, las epopeyas históricas de personajes complejos, Vikings es la serie para ti.

As a true fan of historical series and epic adventures, it’s time to tell you about Vikings – a series that became one of those productions I didn’t just watch, but experienced every episode as if I were one of the main characters.
This series is available on the Netflix streaming platform in many regions. The series itself had me hooked from the very first episode and kept me hooked throughout its six series; although it’s obviously not perfect, it has its ups and downs due to the strain involved in a production of such magnitude. But it’s still one of those experiences that stays etched in everyone’s memory.
Right from the very start of the series, I knew I was in the presence of something well worth watching; that was when I met Ragnar Lothbrok, a visionary farmer from Kattegat, masterfully portrayed by Travis Fimmel. I identified with this character’s rebellious charisma and insatiable curiosity; he yearned for knowledge and to sail into the unknown to realise his dream of conquering the West.
Because Ragnar Lothbrok is not just a warrior; he is also a dreamer, a father, and a contradictory leader capable of questioning both men and the gods themselves. Following his entire evolution from a dreamy farmer to becoming a true legend was like a front-row journey through this whole story of Vikings and Norse gods. The series invites you to reflect on human strengths and weaknesses, such as ambition, loyalty, destiny and family.
Visually, the series is stunning; I think the production team achieved a spectacular finish which, in my view, was the most faithful representation of the Irish landscapes. And one really appreciates these things – the intensity with which both the characters interact and the settings in which the story is brought to life. It also boasts an exquisite narrative which, whilst managing to combine the raw action of the most brutal, intense, gritty and well-choreographed Viking battles, weaves in all the drama of the series’ characters.
My personal favourites from the series were Ragnar, his wife Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and his loyal friend Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård). Floki, despite his divine madness and his unwavering loyalty to Ragnar, ended up stealing the hearts of all of us who have in any way engaged with the series; he made me laugh and cry on many occasions.
However, there’s always a ‘but’, and to be honest with you all, the series – despite promising fascinating content – doesn’t maintain the same pace throughout every series. The first four series really stood out; in my opinion, they were practically flawless. But following Ragnar’s death, the series loses its main appeal; the narrative shifts to focus on his sons and new territories to explore, such as the Mediterranean Sea.
Despite the appeal of new Viking adventures, there is no doubt that the absence of the charisma of a key character like Ragnar feels virtually irreplaceable. On the other hand, thematically speaking, one cannot fail to mention the impact the series makes when it explores the cultural clash between pagans and Christians. At no point does it demonise any specific culture; rather, it shows us the two sides of fanaticism and the humanity of both sides.
In conclusion, I applaud the entire production team behind this series, which offers us an unforgettable glimpse into Christian and pagan culture. With an exceptional cast who bring each character to life with professionalism, conveying a myriad of emotions to the viewer. If you enjoy action, adventure and historical epics featuring complex characters, Vikings is the series for you.

Si tiene seis temporadas, las primeras cuatro están muy bien, el resto más o menos, pero si que es una gran seríe si es que te gusta el género aventurero jeje, un poquitio violenta también, cosa de vikingos 😂😂
