Creative Writing Club: STB #13 || No trace but... smelling of coffee

For many years, it has been rumored in the city, the existence of a serial killer, extremely dangerous but still no one has been able to find his capture.
Many versions are known about his modus operandi, and it is said that his long list of victims is so long that since then he has kept the city terrified, since it is not known when, where or who he will attack?
Some of the lucky few who managed to survive the attack of this killer, claim to have perceived minutes before, a peculiar smell of freshly ground coffee and also traces of coffee beans ... curious isn't it?
That is why this city was put in the sights of many journalists, detectives, agents, analysts specialized in criminalistics, specifically experts in studying serial killers, since the particularity of these is that they always act with the same pattern of operation, hence as all their murders are serial, they are identified with this label to try to follow their footsteps and thus get to find their next arrest.
The city was already known for nothing else but the feared stalking of the one officially nicknamed "the coffee bean killer".

The name at first glance was somewhat confusing because, what relationship did a murderer have to do with the coffee? Well, the experts and journalists, after a long investigation determined the reason and the cause of how this acted... although it was not yet a 100% confirmed information, this managed to keep the rest of the inhabitants a little calm.
Without much progress with this case, it was noticed how the city was gradually becoming more desolate, it seemed that there was nothing to do about this criminal until one day required the presence of one of the best and well-known agents.
Agent Flinn decides not to waste time and sets out to find out the strange case of this serial killer nicknamed with a rather peculiar name. What secrets and how much mystery does this guy keep?
Agent Flinn, with the full support of the authorities, begins her plan. So first she decides to cover the places where the killer attacked before, she makes cautious interviews, collects clues, and nothing... there is no trace. Could it be that we are facing the perfect killer?
One day Flinn, looking at all the notes and evidence she had collected, almost on the verge of giving up, notices something that gives her hope, - "in this city the percentage of coffee consumption has dropped considerably?...is that possible?...I would die without one or...kill?".
This got the agent thinking...what if the killer has a connection to coffee and it is the reason for his crimes....I need to check something!
Later that night Flinn goes to buy coffee, and at that very moment things start to happen....
Just as the reporters said, there are strange traces of coffee beans and a peculiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee completely surrounds her... "I'm sitting on a bench in the middle of the street, something weird is going on here".
Suddenly, and without giving her time to react, something blurs her vision completely. When she wakes up, little by little, the figure of a guy starts to become clearer in front of her eyes... "It's you, the coffee killer!
"Why are you doing this?...aren't you aware of the damage you are causing, you are clearly not well and you need help". These and other phrases are what Flinn exclaims without getting a response.
"It must do something why you do it...tell me about it and I promise I will help you."
Several minutes pass until at last the subject speaks. "Yes, yes there is!"... "because only I deserve to drink coffee and no one else".
You're out of your mind," says Flinn. "How are you going to stop people from drinking coffee, by killing them all?...well, I'll tell you, it's going to be a bit complicated.
I AM THE COFFEE BEAN KILLER! ...The coffee belongs to me, it's mine alone and no one else's Muahahaha hahaha
Seeing the total insanity of this guy... Flinn devises a plan to play with his mind, save himself and in turn capture him....
"Hey, you're right and I'm going to help you!"
Really?, none of my victims thought like that and that's why I decided to finish them off.
Since you like coffee so much and you want it only for yourself, why don't you steal the coffee directly instead of murdering it, so you leave everyone without coffee and you can enjoy it by yourself - says Flinn.
The guy, after thinking about it, accepts the deal, comes up with a great plan proposed by the undercover agent and together they leave for the "Grand theft mission".
What the guy didn't know was that Flinn would send him to a secret base making him believe it was a secret vault with all the best coffee bean crops.

And so at the end of the day our beloved agent Flinn managed to save them all from this coffee-addicted psychopath who didn't count on the cunning and bravery of the now officially baptized as the heroine and protector of coffee.
Although from that moment on Flinn learned a great lesson...drinking coffee in excess could lead to developing strong addictions with dangerous consequences 😄. Also in honor of all the victims, he had a monument built with a coffee fountain to celebrate the end and a new beginning for everyone in the city...now it smelled like coffee but there was nothing to be afraid of!

Hello @edwarlyn11
Hi dear @millycf1976 🤗 nice to see you thanks for stopping by my publication!!!! I hope you liked it
The killer is quite the "greedy guts" wanting all the coffee for himself. Good thinking by detective Flinn though.
Well yes...that's just the word that would describe it perfectly. And very brave action by the agent, not just anyone has the guts to make deals and manipulate a coffee obsessed psycho killer.
Thanks once again for visiting me and leaving your comments dear @leaky20, I appreciate it and I'm glad you enjoy it!!! 💕
