Alone might be better

This Polyrhacis ant was wandering alone on a plant, maybe in search for the food. What I like about this ant, is the behavious, where usually the ant will go in a pack or an army, they decided to wander alone. It might be understandable because of its size, so that it can defend itself quite nicely. But maybe there are some advantage as well to wander alone.

So it is interesting to know their behaviour, how a species that we know usually lives in a colony can live alone. Cna we human do that as well? I don't really think that we can live very much alone in this world.

Also look at the pointy spine of its back, it can be use to deter predator when it is still alive. Maybe they can also be useful when it dies, at least it will give the predator a hard time to eat them.

You have taken some spectacular photographs as you always do, that ant is impressive, I don't think I have ever seen that species that has a thorn on its back, it is definitely used to defend itself. You have captured the shape and behaviour as well as the photos. I know that some ants go alone looking for the right thing and then alert the colony to go all together in search of the big loot of food, but I don't think she needs more company.

As for your reflection, I think that humanity is made to be in society, although some people move away from it for various reasons, solitude helps to think, reflect and evolve internally, something that cannot be achieved in the hustle and bustle. Fabulous photographs. Thank you very much and hug!

Thank you so much for picking up my post and curated it. I appreciate it.
I don't think they could live int he northern hemisphere, as this ant is mostly lived in the tropical area, at least around my place.

I am so happy that you like my work as well my friend.
