Glycyphana stolata (8 photos)

Please welcome Glycyphana stolata a beetle from the Scarabaeidae family who is native to Australia, but has managed to cross the ocean and finally landed here in Bali.

This is actually a medium size beetle, a lot bigger than bikasha collaris that I posted several days ago. And this one seems to not be easily disturbed when approached.

I manage to take several photos of this beetle, but unfortunately, the wind was really strong when I went out and found this beetle to shoot.

It has a brown to blackbody color, with white dots on both sides of its body. And apparently, they are beneficial for the flower, because they are very good pollinators, even though they might eat some part of the flower in the process.
