Pantai Mengiat, Quiet in the Touristy Area

avatar

You will not believe I took the photo above on a beach in one of the main resort areas in Bali. I can have a shot of that beach, with almost no tourists present without Photoshop editing.

This beach is called Pantai Mengiat, and it is located in an area called ITDC, and behind this beach is lined some of the biggest and early hotels in Nusa Dua area. But despite that, this beautiful white sandy beach is not as crowded as Kuta, despite having the same beach vibes.

One of the main reasons I think is because the beach is facing eastward so you can't watch the sunset from this beach. and also there are not many individuals restaurant around, which might also be the reason it is quiet.

But the good side of it is, the beach is way cleaner than other beaches because the beach usually being cleaned and maintained by the staff from the hotels. And you can enjoy most of your time to the fullest, and not need to worry about the crowd as it hardly gets quite big, unless weekend or a local holiday when it is usually crowded with the locals.

The signage in the area, and the tourist who were playing beach vollyball

The waves near the beach are quite calm, so it is nice to swim around for adults as well as kids. Only the waves further into the sea is quite big and nice for surfers, but only for the advance surfer, as the reef at the bottom of the area is quite sharp.

I walk along the pathway that is available there, it can be used as a jogging track and also as a bicycle lane in case you wish to cycle around the area.
Here are some of the street-style (I wish) photography that I managed to take during that time.

The resting massage ladies, since I went there late in the afternoon, most of the Massageure are calling for the day and getting ready to head home

*The beach side bar, belongs to one of the hotels in the area. I missed the timing when the bartender is shaking the drink in front of him *

the tourist is posing for Instagram or social media's post in the swing set up by the hotel

sorry no birds eye view, your drone is grounded

only this guy can have the bird's eye view, but he decided to take a walk instead

please do visit this beach once if you visit Bali. I am sure you will love this beach if you like a not so crowded place. one other bad side is that there are not many spots for night life here, so you have to go to Kuta area if you wish to visit one. : ). also please let me know, who knows I can also give you some suggestion for places to visit while you are here.

Thank you very much for your comment. !PIZZA !LUV

Yes of course I will have a chance to go there I will ask you for tips, thanks btw... for what concerns the night life, well that is not a problem, I am old enough now to enjoy more a quiet place than a disco 😊

Indonesia from a naturalistic point of view It's really impressive and I hope these places will be preserved over time

yes I do hope the same, but as things are advancing, things might change at some point. at least I hope that we can preserve it much longer.

What will happen if you fly your drone over there? will it get shot?

Of course not cem, that will certainly give the hotel staff a huge complaint to handle to.
But for sure you will be approached by the a few security officer and might escorted out of the area, something that we might don't want to happen.

I even happen to get a call from the neighboring property, asking if any of my guest are flying drone. should always ask for permission, or look for sign before flying our robotic birds. : ) !LOLZ

Some pretty good shots you got here! It's interesting how we can occasionally grab a picture of such a popular area without anyone else in the shot. I've had a situation or two where that occurred and it's nice! Getting the good shot is cool but then you think of the lack of people and are a little sad, at least I would be. There's been a lot of damage to the travel and tourism industry that was completely unnecessary and very unfortunate.

Keep up the great pictures!
