Sunrise and Hot Air Balloon Tour in Luxor

Hello everyone, on our third day in Luxor we woke up before sunrise again. But this time it was definitely worth it. We went for a hot air balloon ride. I think Luxor is one of the most wonderful places for a hot air balloon tour. Hundreds of people come here at the same time and take off. In our tour there were 50 balloons taking off simultaneously.

According to local guides, it is also possible to fly at 7 or 8 in the morning, but they said it does not offer such a tremendous impression and experience. It was really hard to decide whether the other balloons surrounding us or that incredible view was more beautiful. Before it even gets light out, all these balloons start glowing with flames.

Unfortunately photos cannot fully convey all the emotions we felt while being there. Still I hope they can at least reflect a bit of the flight beauty. We paid around 100 euros per person for the flight. I know it could be found cheaper, but we decided not to look for trouble while in Egypt and handled everything through our agency. That way we were sure we would be safe. Our basket was large, holding about 20 people.

This was not my first hot air balloon flight, but thanks to the ancient structures surrounding us, it gave me such powerful emotions for the first time. For example, the Temple of Hatshepsut looked tiny from up here. The sense of time and space changes completely here. To put it more clearly, this temple stands 97 meters high. But we could not visit it because this female pharaoh was systematically erased from history, the temple was destroyed and later rebuilt.

The giant statues here, the Colossi of Memnon, weigh 720 tons each and were carved from single monolithic blocks. We also saw the Temple of Ramesses II, which we had visited earlier. All of this feels timeless and immortal, making you feel like a tiny speck of dust next to them. Still, I hope this post can convey to you all the beauty that filled my heart here.

The views were beautiful. This is by far one of the best places to ride a hot air balloon. Ancient temples stood right in front of us.

We were also lucky enough to have a full moon. We could see the moon on one side and the sunrise on the other. It was really extraordinary.

I suggest verifying or the account will be blacklisted, just like the other account.

Both accounts have had negligent interactions with the Hive community over the years and appear to be made solely for farming the rewards.

I would recommend verifying as soon as possible.
