Hello to all my dear HIVERS from @amazingdrinks. I hope you are doing well in this beginning of the weekend 🤗. Many blessings to all. Today sharing with you a delicious, nutritious and very easy to prepare drink.

It is a rice and oatmeal chicha that was super yummy. Besides being a very traditional drink in our country, especially in Cumaná, Sucre state, Venezuela.

Nowadays we observe many ventures related to the sale of this drink, which has the quality of providing a lot of energy and nutrients, as it is based on rice, in some cases. This main ingredient is one of the most consumed cereals by Venezuelans.

I particularly love it. Today I wanted to prepare this recipe with a special ingredient. I selected my ingredients taking into account their availability and to make it healthier and more nutritious. Incorporating fiber to my chicha. For this I selected oatmeal. I also sweetened it with melted papelón and lemon zest which gave it a super special touch.

You will love to prepare it at home. The resulting flavor was a delight and I loved the thick consistency. I was able to enjoy this spectacular Chicha de Arroz con Avena and that combination of cinnamon, vanilla and the touch of lemon zest😋 flavors.

The quantities used is for six people. Here is my step by step.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 liter of water or four glasses.
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 cup of oatmeal
  • 1 cup of Brown Sugar syrup (papelón)
  • 1 tablespoon of Vanilla
  • 1 stick of Cinnamon
  • 1 lemon to grate.
  • Pinch of salt.
  • Crushed ice

PREPARATION

Friends, the first thing I did was to take the pot, add a full liter of water. Once I measured the cup of rice I added it to the pot along with the cinnamon, salt and put it on the fire for about 20 minutes or until the rice was very soft. From time to time I moved it with a spoon to prevent it from sticking and to cook it evenly.

GridArt_20230601_201056913.jpg

When the rice was soft, I lowered the heat and added the oatmeal, mixing very well with a spoon or paddle. I let it cook for 8 more minutes. Once the time was over, I removed the pot from the heat and let it cool in a bain-marie.

GridArt_20230601_201224704.jpg

While my rice and oatmeal mixture was cooling, I melted my papelón. I uncovered it and added it to a pot with a little water. I added water to half of the papelón. Not too much water so that the melted papelón would be thick.

GridArt_20230601_200618803.jpg

Once my Brown Sugar Syrup (papelón) melted I let it cool completely and then I put it through a strainer and added it in a glass container that I always keep in my fridge to sweeten my drinks, smoothies, tea and other preparations.

GridArt_20230601_200808564.jpg

Afterwards, I took the grater and the lemon. I grated it on the smallest side, avoiding grating the white part. I reserved it to add to my mixture.

GridArt_20230601_201356651.jpg

Once my mixture of rice and oatmeal was cooled, I added it to the blender with a little extra water to make the work easier. It should be noted that the mixture was quite thick.

GridArt_20230601_201303589.jpg

I added a little more water. I added the vanilla and the paprika syrup to the blender and let it blend very well for a while. The color and consistency looked spectacular. I poured my preparation into a liter pitcher and added the lemon zest, which I mixed very well with the spoon.

GridArt_20230601_201327520.jpg

I prepared a glass with plenty of ice and poured some of my mixture. WoW very beautiful. I garnished with a cinnamon stick and lemon zest. This chicha was spectacular 😃👍. I hope you prepare it at home, your children and family will like it 🤗. A pleasure to be with you again.

Particularmente me encanta. Incorporando fibra a mi chicha.

A continuación mi paso a paso.

INGREDIENTES

• 1 litro de Agua o cuatro vasos.
• 1 taza de arroz
• 1 taza de Avena
• 1 taza de melado de papelón
• 1 Cucharada de Vainilla
• 1 palo de Canela
• 1 Limón para rallarlo.
• Una pizca de sal.
• Hielo picado
