Greetings, commentators. Nice to greet you again. A fortnight ago we published a post that did not go unnoticed, written by @therealflaws. This post was originally published on May 04 of this year entirely in Spanish. We published it in two parts and translated it into English so that it would have more reach. Ok, sé que es una respuesta bastante superficial, así que la profundizaré con otra analogía usando a Facebook. ¿Cómo haces amigos en Facebook? Si tu respuesta es enviándole una solicitud de amistad a un completo desconocido, permíteme decirte que es una forma errónea de hacerlo, no vas a enviarle una solicitud de amistad a alguien en Facebook que ni siquiera conoces, a menos que seas un spammer o alguien a quien le da igual quién es su amigo.

Sorpresa: Lo mismo pasa en Hive.

Why don't they notice you? Simple: you don't make community.

Ok, I know that's a pretty superficial answer, so I'll go deeper with another analogy using Facebook. How do you make friends on Facebook? If your answer is by sending a friend request to a complete stranger, let me tell you that's the wrong way to go about it, you're not going to send a friend request to someone on Facebook that you don't even know, unless you're a spammer or someone who doesn't care who they friend.

Surprise: The same thing happens in Hive.

¿Qué pasa cuando te conectas a un servidor de Discord y tus mensajes son simplemente intenciones o insinuaciones de que quieres que las personas voten tu contenido? Que incomodas completamente. En los servidores de Discord hay muchas personas intercambiando información, personas que se conocen desde hace meses e incluso años compartiendo cosas de su vida, hablando cosas tan rutinarias como "¿Qué comiste?" o simplemente teniendo preocupación por sus amigos, de eso se trata, de conocer personas.

What happens when you connect to a Discord server and your messages are simply intentions or insinuations that you want people to vote your content? That you make yourself completely uncomfortable. On Discord servers there are many people exchanging information, people who have known each other for months or even years sharing things about their lives, talking about such routine things as "What did you eat?" or just having concern for their friends, that's what it's all about, meeting people.

El servidor de Discord de la comunidad donde soy más activo, OCD, es un lugar donde he conocido a gente increíble, a gente que es votada diariamente y son muy conocidas en la plataforma, pero simplemente hablan de su vida, son unas personas normales, como cualquier persona que conocerías en una red social común, somos amigos entre nosotros, de eso se trata.

The Discord server of the community where I am most active, OCD, is a place where I have met amazing people, people who are voted daily and are well known on the platform, but they just talk about their life, they are just normal people, like anyone you would meet in a common social network, we are friends with each other, that's what it's all about.

¿Por qué Hive tiene que ser diferente? No lo es, para nada. En Hive puedes conocer a personas con gustos similares a los tuyos, puedes conocer a personas que cocinan igual que tú, que juegan juegos iguales a los tuyos, que hacen actividades similares a las tuyas. ¿Por qué no simplemente conocerlos? ¿Por qué no mostrar interés en familiarizarse con estas personas? ¿Por qué simplemente no ser compañero de ellos? No hay explicación lógica que justifique el por qué simplemente llegar y promocionar tu artículo en un canal de Discord, ¿sabes qué demuestra eso? Que simplemente no tienes consideración alguna en todas las personas que hacen vida allí y que solo tienes un objetivo: tu beneficio individual.

Why does Hive have to be different? It is not, not at all. On Hive you can meet people with similar tastes to you, you can meet people who cook just like you, who play games just like you, who do activities just like you. Why not just meet them? Why not show interest in getting to know these people? Why not just be buddies with them? There is no logical explanation that justifies why simply reach out and promote your item on a Discord channel, you know what that shows? That you simply have no regard for all the people who make life there and that you only have one goal: your individual profit.

Hive es más que beneficio individual

Es cierto que muchas personas están siendo votadas actualmente y tienen cantidades de dinero decentes y se benefician individualmente de ello, pero se lo merecen completamente (o al menos muy probablemente se lo merezcan). Hay muchísimas personas dedicando todo el tiempo que podrían dedicar a una red social común en Hive, están consumiendo contenido de las personas que se esfuerzan por hacer contenido original, están comentando, están opinando, están haciendo amigos, simplemente están generando interacción común que es fundamental en cualquier red social, en cualquier medio social que intencionalmente quiera relacionar personas. Si quieres prosperar en Hive; tú debes hacer lo mismo, no simplemente hacer contenido y cruzar los dedos para que sea votado, tú mismo debes centrarte en darte a conocer, preguntar "¿cómo estás?" o "¿ya comiste?", cosas de cortesía que le preguntarías a cualquier persona que te interese conocer, no tienes por qué pensar en algo más allá de eso, no tienes por qué insistir en un "por favor, vótame" o simplemente pensar en que automáticamente te votarán luego de ver que les preguntaste algo.

Debe nacer de ti, debe ser algo que harías en cualquier red social siempre que tuvieras el tiempo suficiente, repito, de verdad, Hive NO ES DIFERENTE A ESTO.

Hive is more than individual benefit.

It's true that many people are currently being voted on and have decent amounts of money and are individually benefiting from it, but they fully deserve it (or at least very likely deserve it). There are many, many people spending all the time they could spend on a common social network on Hive, they are consuming content from people who are striving to make original content, they are commenting, they are giving their opinions, they are making friends, they are simply generating common interaction which is fundamental in any social network, in any social media that intentionally wants to connect people. If you want to thrive on Hive; you must do the same, not simply make content and cross your fingers for it to be voted, you yourself must focus on making yourself known, ask "how are you?" or "have you eaten yet?", polite things that you would ask anyone you are interested in meeting, you don't have to think about anything beyond that, you don't have to insist on a "please vote for me" or simply think that they will automatically vote for you after seeing that you asked them something.

It should be born from you, it should be something you would do on any social network as long as you had enough time, I repeat, really, Hive IS NO DIFFERENT THAN THIS.

En el screenshot que muestro arriba se puede ver que estoy jugando Left 4 Dead 2 con un amigo llamado Pusen, para resumirlo, es moderador de la comunidad Hive Gaming y también curador, y simplemente estoy jugando un videojuego con él, sin necesidad de relacionar el dinero de por medio, sin tener que sacar una conversación relevante a que me vote o que mire mi contenido, simplemente estábamos asesinando zombies y pasando un buen rato jugando, ¿por qué tendría que relacionar el dinero con eso? Estoy pasando un buen tiempo en mi vida jugando algo que me gusta, no hay necesidad alguna en relacionar esto con las recompensas de mis posts o nada similar.

Lo que quiero dejar claro es: Todo se basa en tener amigos, en ser una buena persona. Si no eres una buena persona, se te dificultará hacer amigos, ¿eres una mala persona? Esfuérzate para convertirte en una buena. No seas interesado, por Dios, simplemente se humano, date cuenta de que hay personas con sentimientos y dispuestas a recibir con los brazos abiertos a cualquier persona que esté uniéndose a la comunidad.

In the screenshot I show above you can see that I am playing Left 4 Dead 2 with a friend named Pusen, to sum it up, he is a moderator of the Hive Gaming community and also a curator, and I am simply playing a video game with him, no need to relate money in between, no need to bring up a relevant conversation to him voting me or looking at my content, we were simply killing zombies and having a good time playing, why would I have to relate money to that? I'm having a good time in my life playing something I enjoy, there is no need whatsoever in relating this to the rewards of my posts or anything similar.

What I want to make clear is: It's all about having friends, being a good person. If you are not a good person, you will have a hard time making friends, are you a bad person? Strive to become a good one. Don't be self-serving, for God's sake, just be human, realize that there are people with feelings and willing to welcome with open arms anyone who is joining the community.

Se original y honesto, sé tú mismo

Si no eres tú mismo, ¿de qué vale que intentes hacer amigos? No hagas algo porque alguien lo hace, no estés de acuerdo con alguien porque simplemente es alguien importante o es alguien que te puede dar un voto, tu opinión cuenta y es importante, así sea distinta, es igual de importante que la de alguien con 1.000.000 de Hive Power, no tienes por qué estar de acuerdo con algún administrador de alguna comunidad o algún curador cuando sabes que realmente hay algo que se puede mejorar o que está mal, todos somos diferentes y todos podemos aportar ideas distintas, no seas un hipócrita.

No sé cuántas veces lo he dicho, pero por Dios, deja de pensar en el dinero por un momento, deja de pensar en los votos que puedes obtener, en el dinero que podrás darle a tu familia, simplemente céntrate en el aspecto general de Hive, en que no todo gira en torno a tu situación y que hay muchísimo más que simplemente ganar dinero. El valor de Hive está en que puede darte lo que ninguna red social puede dar con simplemente haciendo lo mismo que haces en esas redes sociales, agradece cada voto que te den si te dejan un comentario, no importa qué tan pequeño sea, esa persona está dándote dinero por el contenido que, de haberlo subido en alguna otra plataforma, ten 100% por seguro que no te hubiesen dado ni 0.0001$ por él.

Be original and honest, be yourself

If you are not yourself, what's the point of trying to make friends? Don't do something because someone else does it, don't agree with someone because they are just someone important or someone who can give you a vote, your opinion counts and is important, even if it is different, it is just as important as someone with 1,000,000 Hive Power, you don't have to agree with some community manager or some curator when you know that there really is something that can be improved or that is wrong, we are all different and we can all contribute with different ideas, don't be a hypocrite.

I don't know how many times I have said it, but for God's sake, stop thinking about the money for a moment, stop thinking about the votes you can get, the money you can give to your family, just focus on the overall aspect of Hive, that not everything revolves around your situation and that there is so much more than just making money. The value of Hive is that it can give you what no social network can give you by simply doing what you do on those social networks, be grateful for every vote you get if they leave you a comment, no matter how small it is, that person is giving you money for the content that, had they uploaded it on some other platform, be 100% sure that they wouldn't have given you $0.0001 for it.

Si eres un gamer, no te gustará ver un feed lleno de artículos de economía, por esto debes unirte a las comunidades y ser activo en ellas, consumir el contenido que las personas crean y también aportar tu contenido original, de eso se trata, de crear comunidad en un lugar que te guste, los gamers mayormente leen posts de gamers, los músicos posts de música, y así sucesivamente, ¿se entiende la idea?

And there are a lot of communities that you can visit and share content there, but, the important thing about being in a community that you like is just knowing that you are reading something that interests you. If you are a gamer, you won't like to see a feed full of economics articles, this is why you should join communities and be active in them, consume the content that people create and also contribute your original content, that's what it's all about, creating community in a place you like, gamers mostly read gamers posts, musicians music posts, and so on, you get the idea?

Amigo, por favor recapacita

Si eres de las personas que causan el problema actualmente, por favor reestructura toda la definición que tienes sobre Hive, no tienes que ser el mejor creador de contenido para ser votado, puedes recibir hasta 100$ en votos con simplemente ser activo y mostrarte en la comunidad. Si estás invitando a personas a que se unan a Hive, por favor asegúrate de que estás haciéndolo bien, de que estás introduciéndolos a una comunidad, a una red social donde hay miles de personas esforzándose diariamente en hacer contenido original, en darse a notar aquí y en la que sin duda alguna estamos muy alegres de poder recibir a más personas con ganas de prosperar aquí.

Muchos tienen este problema de definición, tanto nuevos, como los que ya no tanto. Es muy incómodo ver llegar a un usuario con el objetivo de promocionar su contenido sin más en un servidor de Discord, que simplemente estén participando en las iniciativas para lograr conseguir un voto a toda costa, simplemente es incómodo, desalentador y se nota que no está haciéndolo para hacer conocidos aquí.

Dude, please think again

If you are one of the people currently causing the problem, please restructure the whole definition you have on Hive, you don't have to be the best content creator to be voted, you can receive up to $100 in votes by simply being active and showing up in the community. If you are inviting people to join Hive, please make sure you are doing it right, that you are introducing them to a community, to a social network where there are thousands of people striving daily to make original content, to get noticed here and where we are certainly very happy to welcome more people eager to thrive here.

Many have this problem of definition, both new and old. It is very uncomfortable to see a user arrive with the objective of promoting his content without more in a Discord server, they are simply participating in the initiatives to get a vote at all costs, it is simply uncomfortable, discouraging and you can see that they are not doing it to make acquaintances here.

Pero la mejor forma de hacer dinero en Hive es siendo parte de Hive, hay muchos aspectos que pude haberme saltado en este post, hay muchos consejos que podría dar para prosperar aquí, pero mi aporte de valor es este. Quiero ver que la comunidad hispana realmente sea considerada buena y que se pueda reestructurar toda la definición general errónea que se ha creado, que simplemente siendo humano es la mejor forma de hacer dinero aquí.

Estoy completamente abierto a aconsejar y ayudar en lo que pueda a cualquier usuario que esté teniendo un mal momento aquí, pero este post es más que suficiente para tener una visión mucho mejor estructurada respecto a qué hacer en esta plataforma y, que a partir de ahora, te motive a ser un mejor usuario.

But the best way to make money on Hive is to be part of Hive. There are many aspects I could have skipped in this post, there are many tips I could give to thrive here, but my value contribution is this. I want anyone who reads me and feels they are doing something wrong, to be able to restructure the whole general wrong definition that has been created and understand that simply being human is the best way to make money here.

I am completely open to give advice and help in any way I can to any user that is having a bad time here, but this post is more than enough to have a much better structured view on what to do on this platform and, from now on, motivate you to be a better user.
