Hello, beautiful people of Hive!❤️

Hace pocas semanas mi hermana (@bixland) estuvo de cumpleaños, ¡ya son 16 años!✨ Lo bueno de su cumpleaños es que el día cae durante las vacaciones, así que normalmente todos estamos libres en esta fecha.

En esta ocasión nos fuimos de viaje a Caracas, para pasar tiempo con nuestra familia; y organizamos un día muy divertido para celebrar el día especial de mi hermana💖

A few weeks ago my sister (@bixland) had a birthday, that's 16 years now!✨ The nice thing about her birthday is that the day falls during the vacations, so normally we're all off on this date.

This time we went on a trip to Caracas, to spend time with our family; and we organized a very fun day to celebrate my sister's special day💖

El 31 de agosto amaneció con un fuerte calor, los últimos días habían estado así y realmente necesitábamos refrescarnos. Así fue como decidimos ir a la piscina✨

Ese día algunos familiares estaban trabajando, y se juntaron con nosotros para el plan de la noche; por lo tanto, para la piscina fue una salida de chicas sin planearlo. Solo dos tías, mi madre, mi prima, mi hermana y yo, los únicos chicos fueron dos primos (que pasaron la tarde jugando y no en la piscina), y mi pequeño sobrino🥰

August 31 dawned with a strong heat, the last few days had been like that and we really needed to cool off. That's how we decided to go to the pool✨

That day some relatives were working, and they joined us for the evening plan; therefore, for the pool it was an unplanned girls' outing. Just two aunts, my mom, my cousin, my sister and me, the only boys were two cousins (who spent the afternoon playing and not at the pool), and my little nephew🥰

Tenía mucho tiempo sin ir a una piscina, así que fue divertido. Era la primera vez de mi sobrino en la piscina, y dado que sus padres estaban trabajando, le tomamos muchas fotos para que lo vieran. Él disfrutó cada minuto en el agua, y la gente estaba enamorada de él, porque lo único que hacía era reírse a carcajadas, y cuando intentábamos sacarlo comenzaba a llorar.

Otro factor muy agradable fue tener ese tiempo de chicas, me encantó sentarme a conversar sobre la vida, bromear y reírnos, escuchar las experiencias de mis tías y sus consejos. Yo no bebo mucho alcohol, pero era el momento perfecto para probar unos cuántos cócteles😌

I hadn't been to a pool in a long time, so it was fun. It was my nephew's first time in the pool, and since his parents were at work, we took lots of pictures of him for them to see. He enjoyed every minute in the water, and people were in love with him, because all he would do was laugh out loud, and when we tried to pull him out he would start crying.

Another very nice factor was having that girl time, I loved sitting around talking about life, joking and laughing, listening to my aunts' experiences and their advice. I don't drink a lot of alcohol, but it was the perfect time to try a few cocktails😌

Después de almorzar perros calientes, papas fritas, y tequeños, regresamos al apartamento para arreglarnos al plan de la noche. Allí cambiamos toda la ropa de piscina por un atuendo más elegante, y alrededor de las 6:30pm nos reunimos con todos los demás miembros de mi familia para visitar un lugar que le hacía mucha ilusión a mi hermana: el bowling✨

Jugamos por una hora con mis primos, todos fuimos excesivamente malos, pero esa fue la principal razón de nuestra diversión 😂 Compartimos los turnos de cada uno con otros familiares, y así cada quien pasó su momento de vergüenza. Necesitamos mucha práctica, pero nos reímos (un montón) y pasamos un momento diferente.

After lunch of hot dogs, chips, and tequeños, we went back to the apartment to get ready for the evening plan. There we changed out of all our pool clothes for a more elegant outfit, and around 6:30pm we met up with all the other members of my family to visit a place that my sister was really looking forward to: bowling✨

We played for an hour with my cousins, we were all excessively bad, but that was the main reason for our fun 😂 We shared each other's turns with other family members, and so everyone had their moment of embarrassment. We needed a lot of practice, but we laughed (a lot) and had a different time.

Al salir del bowling fuimos a un restaurante que estaba al lado, para cenar y cantar cumpleaños. Sin exagerar, tuvimos que unir como cinco mesas, debido a que mi familia es muy amplia (algo que me encanta)💕

Los mesoneros nos ayudaron a encontrar una vela y le cantamos "feliz cumpleaños" a mi hermana, la torta fue cortesía de nuestros familiares que se encuentran en el extranjero, quizás no pudieron estar allí físicamente, pero fue un hermoso detalle para sentirlos presente.

When we left the bowling alley, we went to a restaurant next door for dinner and a birthday party. Without exaggerating, we had to join about five tables, because my family is very large (something I love)💕

The waiters helped us find a candle and we sang "happy birthday" to my sister, the cake was courtesy of our relatives who are abroad, maybe they could not be there physically, but it was a beautiful detail to feel them present.

En mi familia, a todos los niños de la misma generación, a todos los primos, nos criaron como hermanos. Crecimos queriéndonos (y molestándonos) como hermanos, por eso al hijo de mi primo lo amo como mi sobrino, mis primos menores son mis niños favoritos, y mis primos mayores son esos hermanos que me cuidan💜

Así que aprovechamos este momento para tomarnos muchas fotos, dado que el tiempo está pasando muy rápido y las fotografías son la mejor herramienta para detenerlo.

In my family, all the kids of the same generation, all the cousins, we were raised as siblings. We grew up loving (and teasing) each other as siblings, which is why my cousin's son I love as my nephew, my younger cousins are my favorite kids, and my older cousins are those siblings who take care of me💜

So we took advantage of this moment to take lots of pictures, since time is passing so fast and pictures are the best tool to stop it.

La celebración terminó muy tarde, casi a medianoche, pero fue un día increíble💖 Mi hermana disfrutó este día desde el principio a fin, y yo también.

Siempre he dicho que mi familia es lo más importante en mi vida, estar con ellos me llena de energía y felicidad. Los días como estos son mis favoritos, y los que más aprecio.

The celebration ended very late, almost at midnight, but it was an amazing day💖 My sister enjoyed this day from the beginning to the end, and so did I.

I have always said that my family is the most important thing in my life, being with them fills me with energy and happiness. Days like these are my favorite, and the ones I cherish the most.
