En esta ocasión vuelvo a pasar por esta comunidad para dar mi humilde opinión sobre una serie en Netflix que atrajo mi atención. Me considero una mujer feminista, por lo tanto, me gustan las películas/series que presenta un verdadero empoderamiento femenino, tal como la serie: La ley de Lidia Poët. Pero no me adelantaré a los hechos, y te invito a seguir leyendo para descubrir más sobre esta serie😉
Esta serie de época está inspirada en una persona real, narra la historia de la primera abogada femenina de Italia, Lidia Poët, una mujer que trata de ejercer su profesión en un mundo misógino y lleno de estereotipos que buscaba oprimirla por esos ideales antiguos de que “las mujeres no debían ocupar un cargo profesional”. Sin embargo, nuestra protagonista siempre siguió adelante, investigando diferentes homicidios durante el final del siglo XIX✨
Obviamente, esto es una serie de Netflix, no se puede percibir como material biográfico de Lidia Poët, dado que fueron agregados varios detalles para hacer la historia aún más dramática, sin embargo, me encanta el hecho de que esta mujer, sí existió, luchó contra la norma social de su época y a pesar de todos los intentos por inhabilitar su profesión, al final ella pudo ejercer, demostrando que el género no es una excusa para impedir el desarrollo de una persona😌
This period series is inspired by a real person, it tells the story of Italy's first female lawyer, Lidia Poët, a woman trying to practice her profession in a misogynistic and stereotypical world that sought to oppress her because of those ancient ideals that "women should not hold a professional position". However, our protagonist always kept going, investigating different homicides during the late 19th century ✨
Obviously, this is a Netflix series, it cannot be perceived as biographical material of Lidia Poët, since several details were added to make the story even more dramatic, however, I love the fact that this woman, did exist, she fought against the social norm of her time and despite all the attempts to disqualify her profession, in the end she was able to practice, proving that gender is not an excuse to prevent the development of a person😌

Una bailarina famosa es encontrada muerta, y culpan a un presunto acosador, por lo cual, la madre del sospechoso acude a Lidia (quien cobra un salario menor en comparación a la tarifa de un abogado masculino), para que represente a su hijo y lo ayude a comprobar su inocencia.
La signorina Poët demuestra ser una mujer intelectual, apasionada por su carrera, atenta a las novedades de la abogacía, y lo podemos ver cuando en una escena le pregunta a su superior si "fueron recolectadas las huellas dactilares de la escena del crimen", un hecho que en la época era un gran descubrimiento, pero solo le respondieron que no tenían tiempo ni recursos para hacer esas cosas, "sea lo que sea", además, no iban a escuchar las ideas de una mujer🙄
Su amante le ofrece prestarle el dinero que debe de la renta de su apartamento, pero ella declina la oferta, argumentando que: "no necesita a un hombre para pagar sus cuentas". En esa misma noche, recibe una carta del tribunal, que explica que la Suprema Corte anuló su inscripción al Colegio de Abogados de Turín (dato basado en hechos reales, tristemente eso pasó😒). ¿El motivo? "La abogacía es un oficio donde las mujeres no debían inmiscuirse","está más allá de los límites que el sexo débil podía observar", así lo explican en la serie. De verdad no me quiero imaginar cómo debió ser todo el proceso educativo que tuvo que soportar antes de obtener su título.
A famous dancer is found dead, and an alleged stalker is blamed, so the suspect's mother turns to Lidia (who earns a lower salary compared to a male lawyer's fee), to represent her son and help him prove his innocence.
Signorina Poët proves to be an intellectual woman, passionate about her career, attentive to the novelties of law, and we can see it when in a scene she asks her superior if "fingerprints were collected from the crime scene", a fact that at the time was a great discovery, but they only answered her that they had no time or resources to do such things, "whatever it is", besides, they were not going to listen to the ideas of a woman🙄
Her lover offers to lend her the money she owes from the rent of her apartment, but she declines the offer, arguing that, "she doesn't need a man to pay her bills." On that same night, she receives a letter from the court, explaining that the Supreme Court annulled her registration to the Bar Association of Turin (fact based on real facts, sadly that happened😒). The reason? "Law is a profession where women were not supposed to meddle", "it is beyond the limits that the fairer sex could observe", so they explain it in the series. I really don't want to imagine what the whole educational process she had to endure before obtaining her degree must have been like.
En fin, desesperada, Lidia busca a su hermano Enrico, también abogado, para que la apoye y continúe con el caso que estaba trabajando, y se ofrece ser su asistente, hacer todo el trabajo de investigación, y él solo sería la cara frente a la Corte. En la casa de su Enrico, Lidia conoce a Jacopo, hermano de la esposa de Enrico, quién es periodista de La Gaceta de Piamonte, y se convertiría en un amigo para Lidia, apoyándola en su búsqueda de la verdad🤭
El caso de Adele Valery, donde cuyo sospechoso era Pietro Baiocchi, no avanzaba a un ritmo exitoso para comprobar la inocencia del hombre, incluso, cada día aparecían nuevas "pruebas" que parecían inculpar aún más a Pietro, pero Lidia no perdía la fe y continuó la investigación, entrevistó a gente cercana a la bailarina, buscó verdaderas pruebas. Realmente había muchos cabos sueltos, pero en un mundo donde solo importa la apariencia seguirían señalando al joven desconocido que le enviaba flores a una bailarina famosa.
Luego de algunos actos que apenas rozaban la legalidad por parte de Lidia, pudo afirmar sus sospechas y descubrir al verdadero asesino de Adele😌 Su hermano aceptó que trabajara para él, sin embargo, ella seguiría luchando para ser reconocida por lo que es: una abogada.
Finally, desperate, Lidia looks for her brother Enrico, also a lawyer, to support her and continue with the case she was working on, and offers to be her assistant, to do all the investigative work, and he would only be the face in front of the Court. At her Enrico's house, Lidia meets Jacopo, Enrico's wife's brother, who is a journalist of La Gaceta di Piamonte, and would become a friend for Lidia, supporting her in her search for the truth🤭
The case of Adele Valery, where whose suspect was Pietro Baiocchi, was not progressing at a successful pace to prove the man's innocence, even, every day new "evidence" appeared that seemed to inculpate Pietro even more, but Lidia did not lose faith and continued the investigation, interviewed people close to the dancer, searched for real evidence. There really were many loose ends, but in a world where only appearance matters, they would still point to the young stranger who sent flowers to a famous dancer.
After some acts that barely bordered on legality on Lidia's part, she was able to affirm her suspicions and discover Adele's real murderer 😌 Her brother agreed to let her work for him, however, she would continue to fight to be recognized for what she is: a lawyer.
What I liked most✨
Lo que más me encanta de éstas series o películas de época es el vestuario, toda la escenografía en general. ¡Y qué hermosos eran los atuendos!✨ Creo que cada detalle fue bien cuidado para darnos una imagen acertada de Italia a finales del siglo XIX. La manera en que ocurren los hechos, la discriminación de la época, comportamiento de los personajes, podemos imaginar que realmente el ambiente era de esa manera durante la época mencionada. Y a pesar de todas las dificultades que existían en esos tiempos, por alguna razón siempre me ha llamado la atención, así que por esa parte, se queda satisfecho con lo que muestra la serie.
La historia es entretenida, y no se me hizo pesada, cada capítulo narra un crimen diferente y todo el proceso de investigación de Lidia para llegar a la verdad. Solo son seis capítulos, bastante corto para mí gusto, pero aún así me atrapó. Además, los casos son interesantes, y mantienen el misterio para que el espectador haga sus propias teorías sobre quién es el culpable, por lo tanto, si te gustan las series de detectives, esta podría ser una buena opción.
What I love most about these series or period movies is the costumes, all the scenery in general. And how beautiful were the outfits!✨ I think every detail was well taken care of to give us an accurate image of Italy at the end of the 19th century. The way the events happen, the discrimination of the time, behavior of the characters, we can imagine that really the atmosphere was that way during the mentioned era. And despite all the difficulties that existed in those times, for some reason it has always caught my attention, so for that part, you are satisfied with what the series shows.
The story is entertaining, and it didn't become heavy, each chapter narrates a different crime and the whole process of Lidia's investigation to get to the truth. There are only six chapters, quite short for my taste, but it still caught me. Also, the cases are interesting, and keep the mystery for the viewer to make their own theories about who is the culprit, so if you like detective series, this could be a good option.
Ví la serie en su idiomas original, el italiano, y fue una gran decisión. Se sentía diferente, hermoso. La manera en que hablan, dándole la emoción necesaria a las distintas escenas que lo requerían. Fue una muy buena actuación por parte del elenco, no se sintió vago ni superficial.
Pero, sin duda alguna, lo mejor fue la actriz Matilda De Angelis, quién interpreta a Lidia Poët. Es muy fácil empatizar con el personaje, es audaz, inteligente, apasionada y fuerte, solo es una mujer que desea superarse, que ama su profesión y busca ayudar a las personas. Mujeres como ella representan el verdadero concepto del feminismo, y gracias a su lucha (y a la lucha de otras mujeres similares) hoy en la actualidad la población femenina podemos gozar de varios derechos, que antes nos prohibían. Es un personaje inspirador💜
I watched the series in its original languages, Italian, and it was a great choice. It felt different, beautiful. The way they speak, giving the necessary emotion to the different scenes that required it. It was a very good performance by the cast, it didn't feel lazy or superficial.
But, without a doubt, the best was the actress Matilda De Angelis, who plays Lidia Poët. It is very easy to empathize with the character, she is bold, intelligent, passionate, and strong, she is just a woman who wants to better herself, who loves her profession and seeks to help people. Women like her represent the true concept of feminism, and thanks to her fight (and the fight of other similar women) today we the female population can enjoy several rights, that before were forbidden to us. She is an inspiring character💜
Es una miniserie que fácilmente podrías verte en un día, si eres como yo, que a veces necesita hacer un maratón de algo para relajarte y pasar el estrés 🤭 En esta ocasión, Netflix nos regaló una muy buena producción, que merece más publicidad para llegar a más personas.
Grazie mille por haber llegado hasta acá 💜 Lamentablemente, a la verdadera Lidia Poët le volvieron habilitar su licencia de abogada a los 65 años de edad, sin embargo, se lleva el honorable título de ser la primera mujer abogada en el territorio italiano, y eso es admirable. Jamás se dió por vencida, defendió sus derechos y el de los más necesitados hasta el final, así que me alegra haber encontrado esta serie y conocer a esta gran mujer✨

It's a miniseries that you could easily watch in a day, if you're like me, who sometimes needs to marathon something to relax and pass the stress 🤭 This time, Netflix gave us a very good production, which deserves more publicity to reach more people.
Grazie mille for having made it this far 💜 Unfortunately, the real Lidia Poët had her law license re-enabled at the age of 65, however, she takes the honorable title of being the first woman lawyer in the Italian territory, and that is admirable. She never gave up, she defended her rights and that of the most needy until the end, so I'm glad I found this series and got to know this great woman✨

Definitivamente tiene que ser una tremenda serie. Las imágenes que nos compartes afirman sobre el encanto del vestuario y el contexto donde se desarrolla la trama. La lucha para que la mujer sea reconocida sigue marcando precedente para la historia.

Te la recomiendo completamente ✨ creo que los vestuarios son maravillosos, definen la clase de mujer que es Lidia, cada detalle fue muy bien pensado. Pero claro, el enfoque de todo es el contexto de la historia, y fue sorprendente.

Si hay algo interesante de las series de Netflix son aquellas de la época del siglo XIX las cuales aunque se toman bastantes licencias creativas son muy entretenidas para aquellos que las vemos y al parecer en este caso no es la excepción, comparto que debió ser muy difícil para la mujer en la cual se basó la serie para ser reconocida en esa epoca
Exactamente, le agregaron diferentes detalles fuera de la historia real para hacer el desarrollo de la historia más entretenido para el público, pero al menos supieron cómo hacerlo, nada se siente forzado ni superficial.
Al terminar la serie busqué la verdadera biografía de Lidia Poët, y wow, fue muy difícil su vida🥺
