Freewrite - “Bound to Fail”
This was a bad idea. Everyone knew it was impossible to make money as an author these days unless you really got into social media. And she hated social media! How the hell was she going to take a 9000 word novelette (Novella? Long-short story??) and build a universe that anyone would want to get invested in?
The anxiety was building and building but there was one almost perverse source of comfort for her: there were practically no jobs left to run back to. So many companies were relying on AI to do work that really should be left to humans but who knew how long it would take them to see the error of their ways?
So, maybe this venture had a really high chance of failure and maybe that would hurt but it was still her best bet.
So she went for it.
This one might be based on a true story. In other news, did you notice my new avatar?? I took it from my Duolingo 😊. Because I uploaded the picture I was using before way back in 2017 or something and so much has changed I barely feel like I'm the same species as that version of me sometimes.
