My First Wedding in the year

Just this Sunday, I was privileged to be at the wedding of a close friend, I think this wedding happens to be the first wedding I have attended this year, even though I love weddings, I am a lazy ass dresser, so even if I am incited to a wedding, It takes the grace of God to leave my house for that wedding because I always feel lazy dressing up to go out especially if I am the only one going out, but it is always fun and exciting if I am going for an occasion in a group or with my girlfriend or maybe a close person or even church members.

Two years ago, a friend asked me to give a speech/toast about her on her wedding day, but I declined although there were already reasons, why I declined doing the toast or all those friend speeches about the bride but the main reasons why I declined was because I have never been a fan and fond of that activity and I hope and I am planning to cut that out on my wedding day.

I don't need anyone coming to tell my husband what he already knows about me and if he doesn't know things about me or doesn't believe and needs my friends to come out in public and spell those things out for him, then he isn't ready. The truth is, most of those things are lies because know friend would want to or love to stand out in the open on their friend's wedding day to give a negative or hateful speech about their friend except he or she is a witch. So, we sugarcoat those words to suit the occasion, so that part of the wedding activity for me, would be ruled out.

I am a very shy person and the concept of kissing the bride is an absolute NO, for me. Not because I can not kiss my husband but because I am shy and can not stand doing all that, so I don't enjoy that part and don't think it is necessary. After all, this couple is going to be doing all that in their honeymoon and years together, so why the need for all those?

I am also not fond of the concept of "Feeding ourselves", the bride kneeling to feed the group and the groom feeding the bride, I don't understand the reason behind that activity because truth be told or the reality is that day is always the first and the last time such activity get to happen between the two couples, so it's more or less a show, which I am not ready to give to those I invited for my wedding.

I have never been one to like this show of affection in public, not that kind of person, and since I don't see a need for that, I believe these are things that can be ruled out as I am not fond of it.
