The Hot Meat ~ An Unforgettable Experience

So, on December 25th, my secondary schoolmates decided to have a get-together, a location was set, dress code and time were set well. At first, I felt I wouldn't be able to make it because I came back from where I went so exhausted, that the thought of preparing myself and moving out for another thing would be stressing me and I knew I wasn't ready for that.

Since I came back behind time, it would mean rushing out, and that was something I wasn't ready to do, so I did what came to my mind, I lay on my bed and zoomed off, only to be woken by my ringtone, indicating an incoming call from someone, I checked the call and I realized it was one of my schoolmates who I still talk to frequently.

She said she had been calling my phone for an hour now with no response, that it was brought to her notice by our class president that I wasn't in the venue up till now, while I was trying to understand why my presence was such importance to them, it dawned on me that I was one of the executives of the prestigious group and was supposed to be in the venue because I was the one handling the finances and everything that has to do with money.

Immediately I understood what she was trying to say, I burst out laughing because it escaped my mind that I was supposed to be there before everyone and was supposed to make reservations for food, drinks, and our sitting area but here was I sleeping my eyes out.

So, I told her my predicament and how I had ruled out attending the event because I was tired and was behind time already behind. Well, she said even if she would help me do my job, I still have to be there for accountability's sake. So yeah, I ran out of my room, into the bathroom, took my bath, got into the room, and started dressing up.

Got dressed up, picked up my bag, and rushed out of the house to get a tricycle that would be taking me to my destination. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to see one, hop in, and within 45 minutes, I got to my first bus stop, I dipped my hand into my bag and couldn't find any dim in my handbag and it dawned on me that I left the house without any cash, the other bag I went out with in the morning contained my money and since I was in a rush, I forgot to carry cash.

I could see the face of the driver changing into a rage, while I begged him to be patient with me because I wouldn't want to be embarrassed in public, I rushed to a POS stand and gave my card, thankfully, I did not forget that as it is always at the back of my phone, in my phone pouch, I got some money, paid him and he went his way.

I went on to look for a motorcycle since it would be faster in getting me to my destination, we bargained price, I climbed and we rode away. I got to the place and met them all seated and doing the business of the day.

Well, I met them all having a plate of assorted meat and drinks in front, although they weren't eating yet, so I decided to get closer to my closest friend among them to eat his meat, I didn't notice they were staring at me as I took the spoon, dipped into the plate, removed the meat, and into my mouth. The hotness from the meat, inside my mouth, got me spitting out the meat as fast as a flash movement, and immediately, they started laughing.

Well, I got to know that the reason why they did not start eating was that the meat was just served a few minutes before I walked in, and since it was still hot, they decided to wait a bit before they started digging into their plate but because he knew I loved meat and would that, he decided not to tell me when I saw me digging into his plate.

I was so embarrassed because their laughter caught the attention of the other people seated, and when they all turned to know the source of their laughter, they found me fanning my mouth and having a piece of meat in my palm. We all laughed about it and continued our thing though but from time to time, my friend would tip in my experience and we would laugh all over again.
