The Day After🎆🎇……..My Actifit Report Card: July 5 2026

Poor Cyle looks a bit hungover! He and Cot-who took it much worse than Cyle did, were terrified of the fireworks our next door neighbor shot off last night! 🙀 For those who missed what I’m talking about-we live in a cedar and fir tree forest. Only a few parcels have open fields suitable for fireworks. Our neighbor who had a party last night, is not one of them. Consequently, when their friends bring fireworks to their 4th of July party, let’s just say that we are concerned about fire danger. They were shooting off the big ones up until 11:25 last night-big enough that you could see the flash light up the stonework in our house-and we had our lights on! We couldn’t even have gone to bed! Too loud and over the top. Now-we enjoy fireworks! We’ve shot 250 footers off before but not in a cedar/fir tree forest nor until that late either. We had to go find Cot when it was over and put him in our bed under the covers so he felt safe. Poor kitty!

We started our day at church for the 9 AM service. Pastor Kyle congratulated all of us ( there was quite the number of folks missing 😁) for making the early service. I figured that the most of the people were coming to the 10:40 AM one, but I didn’t even have to wait to back the car up to leave like I normally do!

After doing some things around the house, I told @silvertop that I’d go down to the river if afterwards we could go get some fresh strawberries. 🍓 I had a hankering!

It’s been a beautiful and sunny day but a bit warm. It was very warm down by the river! There was a family swimming and they also had a radio controlled speed boat which was running all over!

I spied some kind of water fowl playing in the river’s edge.

Of course, I found some interesting rocks!

This next one; if you use your imagination, you can see the waves with a fish swimming by.

I found a “tide pool”, if you want to call it that, with baby fish swimming around. I hope we get enough rain to reconnect the pool to the river before it dries up completely, or those poor babies will be toast!

There’s always some driftwood around as this area is prone to flooding.

On the was back to the car, I saw some thistle in bloom. The way it photographs, kind of reminds me of sea anemones.

Afterwards, we headed to the Woods Coffeehouse for a refreshing mocha frappe! 😋

Then off to Safeway for those strawberries! 🍓
