A Forage around Flash Lane Forest

It was another dull day, but at least it wasn’t raining. I had a walk in the forest to continue my quest to find some fly agaric fungi.

Firstly, I found a couple of pumpkins. After halloween, people leave them outside so the wildlife can eat them.

I decided to place these higher up as they’re fine for most animals but are poisonous to hedgehogs.

I also took out the used tea candles that they'd left inside and binned them when I got home!

I really love the yellow, orange leaves against the green leaves of the other trees. They really pop out in the forest.

Sometimes, I take a short cut through the trees but the moss on the ground gets very waterlogged so I decided to stick to the footpath.

Someone had been doing a bit of stone stacking, a form of art in the countryside. Some people object to it believing that moving rocks and stacking them on top of one another can disturb the environment. Personally, I don’t mind if it's not hurting any creatures habitat.

It was an interesting little walk, and I did get to find one fungi coming through. The big red blob! There were a few more sprutting through, so I might pop back tomorrow.

Very nice and soggy walk in the forest. Not exciting as you don’t have any poisonous snakes or wild bears there!

Oh! You have snakes too. I think they are frightened by noises and people.
