A Visit to the Longshaw Estate in Monochome

Visiting the Longshaw Estate, which is a lovely part of the Peak District, I decided to go all monochrome!

The estate is a lovely day out for both walkers and for people who fancy a bit of cycling as it has many footpaths and trails. The scenery isn't too bad either!

Even though it was a lovely sunny day, black and white definitely gives photos a different kind of vibe to them. The trees look a little spooky and dramatic.

Some trees had been felled as part of a restoration project. They've thinned out some trees and replaced them with native species to help the wildlife. Source

In my younger days, there was black and white photos and television. It was difficult watching a snooker match without colour! Black and white photos takes me back to the so called 'good old days' where things were more simple.

I think some photos are better in black and white, and others in colour. I like blue skies and white fluffy clouds, but I also like the nostalgic and dramatic feel to black and white photographs.

When we had finished our walk we headed off to the cafe for a coffee as a reward. It made a nice change for it to be warm enough for people to sit outside.
